I apologize that I must cut this short, but I am attempting to get an appointment with the new Empress, Arabella De Lylles, and I am off to the Imperial Court to see about that. Perhaps I will be back later,-- odd things always seem to happen whenever I meet with Thanes, Governors, and above, both good and bad-- but for the moment I shall leave you two to discuss family matters."

Roland stood there, brushing himself off. A polite man, he did not want to rush off without giving the two Vampylers a chance to say goodbye, or to ask him one last question or comment before he departed. (Of course if neither had anything to say beyond the social formalities, it can be assumed he left within the candlemark.)
