The dwarf gave a short bow as the Governor introduced herself. Of course he scarely needed the introduction since he'd been briefed on everything that could be found about his new boss, and Queens attract a lot of attention. Of course determining what was gold amongst the dross of rumour and speculation was quite something else again, but her descripton matched perfectly even if to his eye all fae did tend to look a bit the same.

"Welcome to the city, the province and of course your office." He smiled at the latter and waved his arm in a broad arc. "Come let me take you through and we can talk where there are less ears to listen, discrete though they might be." He waggled his bushy eyebrows towards the doorway where the guard still stood at attention.

Leading through to the inner office that provided all the privacy that he wanted, he waited before taking a seat, unsure of whether or not she would sit, hover or whatever. A moment passed and then he started to speak.

"Well, I don't know where to start your Excellency since there is a great deal that needs to be addressed. Perhaps a quick overview of history would be the place. No doubt you'll be aware that Governor Andares was taken ill, and has remained in some sort of coma ever since. Her illness left a terrible power vacuum at the very head of the government and while momentum kept everything going for a while things are starting to fall apart. Governor Gil'dae did her best as deputy but she had barely taken office as deputy herself when she had to try and cover the Governors job and barely had she officially become Governor and able to take the reins as she saw fit when the Intendant took her away. She had a falling out with the Provincial Commander and removed him from office. I don't say that she was wrong but the Phoenix Legion didn't take the move well since they were of course loyal to their commander."

He shrugged a little, "then there is the tax charge that has been levied by the Imperials. Governor Gil'dae put some things in motion but really, now the charge rests in your hands and people have naturally hesitated to do anything before we knew your views."
