Physical Description (as Dracon):
“Dark as a moonless night, dark as the bottom of a deep well, dark in crow's dark, dark as a bad omen”
Black opaque scales, of uneven sizes and sharp edges, cover his figure in chaotic patterns. Large curved opaline talons end his toes and skeletal fingers. Bloody red tongue and pointy sharp yellow teeth, await inside his reptilian snout. Tombstone gray wings, each marked by four vertical badly-healed wounds, and a long black tail, complete the gargoyle. Furious glowing red eyes peer trough the air before him.
He looks quite small and physically weak for his race and age, perhaps due to the unusually short size of his damaged wings. His voice, a reflection of his outward appearance, is a hissed disruptive tone.
A creature ugly as sin. A terrifying and monstrous view, even for the members of his own race. Inspiring fear in those weaker than himself, hate in his equals and disgust among those who out-power him.
Psychological Traits:
Darkthael has, to his advantage, a cunning intellect and unusually fast mind. While many will describe his thoughts or actions as twisted or immoral, sometimes even as evil, he will simply consider them efficient.
On the other hand, he has an explosive temperament and inclination towards anger. When contradicted or ridiculed, he is likely to go into fits of rage that he will then require a lot of effort to suppress. Sometimes his emotions go as far as to interfere with his shape-shifting powers, mixing some of his dracon features into his disguise form (this will vary depending on the disguise currently adopted).
Darkthael personally hates his dracon appearance and the effect it produces among everyone who sees it, as well as anything that remembers him of such form. Taking this into account, is no wonder he became a Moraden, and one of the most motivated among them. The forms he adopts are artfully constructed and planed in their actions and expressions to the very detail.
Despise hating his physical form, Darkthael has great appreciation of himself as a being and mind. He believes himself to be destined to great power and royalty-like respect and will do everything in his hands to achieve that goal.
Darkthael can be very cruel when he is able to get away with it, or very polite when his ends require it. He finds delight in the pain of others, and to some extent in his own, he enjoys the sensations of the shape-shifting process. Needless to say, he is prone to grudge-bearing and will attempt to take vengeance against (real or perceived) mistreat, whenever possible.
In his natural form, Darkthael feels constantly at danger and heavily distrusts his surroundings and people, remaining much more alert, but also uncomfortable, than he is in a seeming.
History:
Darkthael was born in the midst of a small diantar village. He was quietly despised by his neighbors from his very infancy, because of his horrid appearance and "tainted" physical traits. And, later on, also because his moraden preference. Never openly attacked, always distrusted and shoved aside. He grew in deep resentment and hate for the proud and hypocrite diantars.
Out of pure hate of his appearance, he mastered the shape-shift at quite and early age, and before the 16 patters, he was capable of transforming slightly faster than most self-trained moradens. Even thought the difference was less than one twelfth of a candle mark, he is quite proud of himself for that.
One day, just a few brightenings before the time the stories here accounted for started, he was picked in a fight by one of the diantar among his own age.
The golden-scaled arrogant dracon had seen Darkthael shape-shifting into human form, and admiring his own reflection into a water spring that same morning. For the supposedly all-tolerant diantar, that was an offense to his way of life and that of the entire village.
Later, after Darkthael had returned to his natural form, the golden one found him again and attacked him with no sort of verbal warning but a furious scream. In punishment for his presumed crime, the diantar used his talons to cut and mutilate Morgreed's wings, giving them their current wounded form.
The infuriated moraden did not only fought back his brother dracon, but, in a fit of rage, killed him. Knowing he would be blamed and condemned by his own kind as a murderer for what he saw as an act of self defense, Darkthael decided to flee from his hometown.
His mind quickly made up a plan, a really ingenious and ambitious plan, which first step involved the mastering of the shape-shifting art beyond what he could learn by himself. In pursue of such a goal was that he traveled to the city of Tearsfall, in the form of a medonian human by the name of....
Danael Morence (Physical Description):
Danael was the first non-dracon shape and persona of Darkthael, created in his infancy and improved every era since then. He was carefully designed by the dracon to inspire the opposite feeling than his despised true form.
Danael appears as a tall young medonian human of fairly athletic complexion. He has long black straight hair and a short black beard. His skin is neither pale nor black, but just a little darker than the average among his (pretended) kind.
Danael likes to dress in black simple clothes and is moderately careful of his own appearance. Unlike the second seeming, Daelen, Danael prefers comfortable useful clothing to extravagant elegance. Nonetheless, he keeps all his belongings, including clothes, in as good state and shape as possible.
Danael Morence (Acting):
Danael is confident, polite and charmingly diplomatic most of the time, and basks in causing the admiration and recognition his dracon half can't get. He is often drawn to act in a conciliatory manner and takes great care in being polite and friendly to people whenever possible.
The movements, words, expressions and thought patterns created for Danael are intended to inspire confidence and friendliness in those he meets. Of all Darkthael's seemings, Danael's persona is the best suited for merging with a general population and befriending others.
It must be remembered at all times however, that under this soft-skined form of peaceful demeanor, the volatile temper and cold cunning of the dracon hides and lurks.
Danael Morence (Shapeshifting defect):
Danael's eyes revert to those of Darkthael whenever the inner-dracon feels burning anger to such an extent he can no longer concentrate on keeping his disguise as the confidence inspiring medonian human.
Daelen S'Aldran (Physical Description):
This handsome medonian elf is the most elegant and visually attractive seeming in the dracon's repertoire. As tall as Danael but much more slender, Daelen has soft skin of an almost white tone, sharp emerald green eyes and long lank silverly blond hair.
All his features were carefully sculpted by the dracon, aiming at the popular ideal of elven looks and beauty. Careful attempts were made at emulating the unearty elegance the noblemen of such race were known to show. Daelen's expression seems to always carry a small hint of superiority, particularly in the look of his eyes.
Daelen always dresses elegantly and takes extreme care of his own appearance. He often uses clothes that reinforce the appearance of elegance and nobility his body was designed to produce. Black, silver, white and green are the colors that best suit him and therefore his favorites.
Daelen S'Aldran (Acting):
Daelen acts as if he were a nobleman or one of elevated social standing. While never foolish enough to provoke those who are clearly his superiors or claim any fake nobility directly, his actions and words towards others often suggest the fact that he expects to be treated with deference and respect. He is in his best mood when he is being served by others or in the company of powerful individuals with much higher standing that Darkthael himself has.
Daelen is apt in dealing with situations that require finesse or the art of negotiation, relying on the air of elegance that he was created to exude. Knowledge of his handsome looks also make him a lot more confident around women than Danael, and of course, much more than the fearful dracon beneath his skin.
He can be often seen as arrogant or pompous, however, so this seeming is less suited to merge with the common people than Danael is. Daelen S'Aldran thrives among the higher echelons of peasant society and the lower nobility.
Daelen S'Aldran (Shapeshifting defect):
Daelen's hair becomes obsidian black instead of the carefully designed silverly blond whenever the inner dracon feels deep terror beyond that which he can hide behind the arrogance and pretentiousness of the elven seeming.
