Raliric Ered`Gard is an upstanding Citizen
His entrance into the bastion of order went without incident, there were none readily watching the skies for shadows trying to gain entry, though whether there were people watching the skies in general was another question entirely that could not be answered by the master swordsman and patron of Aeternia. Suffice to say no alarm was raised as he flew over the high city walls, no call of confusion about a shadowed figure landing upon the slanted granite tile roofs. His mount, Blackwind, had risen to a reasonable height in the sky above Siona, enough so he could view his master whilst circling in the skies.

He could immediately feel that traversing the city via the city roofs could be an interesting task for a few reasons that had nothing to do with being spotted from below. The roofs were slanted, the tiles were slick and there was nothing readily available to catch onto should the master swordsman loose his balance and slide from his purchase. This coupled with the fact that nearly eighty percent of Siona’s buildings were taller than most cities; most of the buildings were large Insulae consisting of some four stories each and all with open courtyards in their center. If he fell, he would certainly injure himself. Which begged the question of; ‘How was he ever going to get down without hurting himself?’ Even a practiced drop of four stories was enough to break a leg or an arm depending on how he landed and if that landing was even remotely successful.

The spacing between Insulae was also interesting to note; most cities would have a grouping of residences which would sit next to each other and create city blocks surrounded by an intricate pattern of city streets. Siona was subtly different; it was built in a circular pattern and did not deviate from it. Everything was meticulously planned and implemented as if the entire city had been build from some master plan on a drawing board. Fact of the matter was, that was exactly the case. Each Insulae was its own separate block, though some were closer than others with only an alley in-between each, however most of them were surrounded by the paved streets made for carriages and wagon travel as well as consisting of ample room for pedestrians on either side of the main thoroughfare.

All and all creating a rather different situation for any travel via roof top. Thus Fidelis’s concern at present was by no means guards or citizens traversing the streets, but rather how he was going to get down from his precarious position.
