Tearing his eyes away from the mystery on the water’s surface, Klue scanned the growing crowd while pushing his curls aside to redirect the flow of water down the bridge of his nose. There was Ality making the most of her people skills, he noted with somewhat of a wry grin and looked a bit more and, ah, Seth as well amongst the crowd. He returned the nod just before Marcus hailed him forward, but then looked again, something on his friend’s shoulder having caught his eye. He squinted against the downpour. Was that a badger he was wearing?
Of course it was the lesser of two curiosities at the moment and he was being hailed and so he nudged his way through the press of bodies to get closer to the carriage along with Straylor. He gave a nod to the Constable while again pushing the mop of hair back off his forehead and studied the gloved arm sticking out of the carriage window. ”Ma’am,” he said politely and then pondered the task handed them. It wouldn’t be easy, it would take time to evacuate the town neighborhood by neighborhood in a calm and orderly fashion. They’d likely need some help getting it done in a manageable amount of time. ”Yes ma’am,” he agreed but the question of theories left him pondering the question at length.
He had no idea. If it were him alone, he'd be powerfully tempted to satisfy an insatiable curiosity by trying to get a closer at the thing. But the duty to defend and protect said different, and so did the hand sticking out of the carriage window. ”I can’t rightly say ma’am, except t’ agree with Constable Leonard about th’ wisdom of not waitin’ around t’ find out.”
