Alia turned back to the young boy she was working on. He himself appeared to be fine but his leg was not. The boys leg had been severely burned by the fire and was black for the thigh down. As Alia touched the leg to dress it he cried out in pain. Tears began to steam down his face but Alia kept on working. She worked fast but with a gentle touch and yet the boy still screamed in pain. There was no one there to comfort the boy, no one to hold his hand or to tell him it would be alright. No one was there.
Once Alia finished she smiled at the boy and wiped his tears. She then covered him and told him to rest. Afterwards she stood and returned her attention to the girl. "This is what we deal with, some are worse and some are just scratches and bruises. He will lose his leg, there is no way to save it now. It is sad, he has already lost his family. To preform mouth to mouth he will pinch the nose of the person, tilt the head back and the blow breath into him or her." Alia showed what to do as she explained but as the man was already breathing she skipped that step.
