[Toichos Kikkimos] The Pedestal [Noticeboad]

The Pedestal is a circular slab of gypsum marble, over five meters high and carefully inlaid with motifs of the Secyclion flag and standard along its curved surface. Located at a prime location just outside the Agora Kikkimos, where the volume of traffic is immensely high, the Pedestal is the place where information from the City Government are being disseminated to the Citizens, usually on the first Brightening of every Cycle at noon.

City Criers, imbued by the authority of the Thane or the Principal Staff would stand on the podium to announce greetings or even important information such as tide changes and urgent news from all around the Empire. Seemingly because of the nature of the structure, many have taken to meeting at the location to exchange information, gossip or even the occasional rumor. Once something has been passed down at the Pedestal, one can be sure that the information would soon become City-wide. Numerous other podiums also exist within the other parts of the City, however, amongst all of them, the Pedestal is the most popular and most highly congregated one.

On the walls of the beautifully designed podium, commissioned by the Thane, it has also become a customary place for people to place their announcements on with a special kind of glue that will eventually disintegrate after one Cycle, before cleaners come and remove the advertisements and notices. All over the wall, advertisements, notices, even requests can be found, and it is no wonder why some people can spend up to a candlemark just looking through all the notices until they find something of interest.
