Cycle 3 of Optia. Summer Era 14 PF.
The journey to Eunesia was something of a challenge altogether. Obviously, there was no direct route from the Carmelyn -- or Demios, more specifically. Julien had to hop ships several times before he finallly managed to catch one that was destined to be loaded with trade goods from the island. The captain of the ship was more than happy to give Julien a ride. That is, so long as Jules literally pulled his weight on the ship. He helped load supplies, prepared the sails, and even cleaned and helped out on the deck. Over all, it was mostly what he expected for being so damn poor. He would've been better off selling the Dynasty back home and cashing it in for whatever Phedos thought it was worth.
But there was something that kept him going throughout his trip. It was something quite odd, really, something he never quite got to grasp even with his moderately-free roaming imagination: Arcana. The isles of Eunesia was suppose to be filled with magic and magical entities. If there was something that equalized mortals, it was the power of the immortal. With Sorcery he could level whole cities; elementalism could allow him to incinerate armies; while mysticism would allow him to control the cores of everyone around him. All those powers seemed too fantastic to be true; yet, he believed it. His home turf was filled with wizards after all. But he didn't like them one bit. The elitist locals thought better of him as a servant boy than a mage; he'd show them.
Arriving at the docks, Julien thanked the old captain for his trouble before hopping off with his minimal items in tow. "Thanks", he said with a curt nod. And with that, he entered the island city known as Arios.
