There was always a sense of impending doom when at a funeral, people were faced with their own mortality when remembering the one that they carried away in a casket, so Jade wasn't really too spooked at first at the feeling. But there was something different in the air, she could feel it as could her dark companion, both of which getting an uneasy feeling. Jade's knuckles turned white as she held tight to her staff, she was lad that Nymira was in her Virkyn form, it would give them an advantage. While the two Sanguine sisters had thought themselves lost amongst strangers, but a familiar feeling came and both sister searched for their Sanguine comrade. Nymira spied Cyrus and Pandora first.
Before they could move to speak with Cyrus and Pandora they were approached by a young man, he noticed Jade and her companion and slowed his step before coming to a complete stop. She watched him carefully, arching a brow as he looked as though he was mourning, sniffling and such, which was quite amusing really. If he was looking for comfort, then he looked to the wrong woman, she was not a comforter but a killer. "Do you feel that change?" Jade nodded her head, the change in the air was too noticable not to notice, it was harder to breathe and getting harder, there was something stirring in this place. What had the sisters stumbled across? She would have spoken to Straylor, but her attention was diverted at the last moment by a horse's whiny in the distance, her emerald eyes widening as she saw a horse ragging a man behind it, his pitiful cries for the horse to stop was ignored by the animal, such a pathetic looking creature the man was.
There was hesitation in her step now, not wondering about the horse-dragged one but who had made that happen, who was responsible for such a thing and why. Nymira pressed her body close against her bondmate's legs, her body tense, both sisters reached out with their keen senses, their joined gaze falling upon the horizon where dark figures were seen, there was many of them, Jade spotted antlers and skins covering the men that were on horseback, this was not a good situation. Their language was one that neither Jade nor Nymira could understand and while Jade was ready for battle, she didn't want to enter something unless she knew what she was doing.
The horseman took notice of the funeral procession and rode their horses towards them, speaking in an odd language, their eyes reflecting their bloodlust. It took only a moment for Jade and Nymira to be stirred to enter the fight and help some of the people that were screaming, it was absolute chaos and yet Jade found herself thrilled by the prospect of killing, she felt the Virkyn in her coming out as she fought to protect a few of the people that were still alive, fools that couldn't protect themselves. Her staff pounded into flesh, she knew many different techniques, some only injured while others killed. Nymira did her share as well, nothing was more fierce then a Virkyn in battle.
