Just past the gates of Vortex, Kaleal breathed a sigh of relief. His lie had gone un-noticed, and he was free to wander the city. However, there was a fact that bothered him. The lie may have allowed him into the city, but if the two guards who had been at the gates saw him again, or described him to their fellow guards, he would be forced to become a fugitive, keeping to the shadows, and avoiding those would kill him before giving him a second glance. With this in mind, Kaleal made a decision. He slipped into the shadows of a nearby alleyway, and began the painful shapeshift from dracon to human form.
