JAEDAXIA - In a long-overdue decision, Thane Vladimir XI de Bourbauge has officially issued a reversal of the controversial writ that effectively closed the Academy of Arcane Science in Jaedaxia and saw to the beginnings of a witch hunt of local mages by one-time Prefect, Roland Moonstar.

Unwilling to dwell on the circumstances of the past, Thane de Bourbage’s statement speaks to the city moving forward while keeping to the traditions of the past.

“Jaedaxia’s history is one of a strong people making our own destiny. Our own people, the beloved mages of Jaedaxia, were forced into exile by what was clearly a witch hunt. We are saddened that this act took so long to execute but due to the nature of the writ and the manner in which it was issued, as well as resulting meetings, we wanted to be assured that something of this nature can never happen again. We welcome home all those who wish to return to Jaedaxia with open arms and hearts. ”

Speaking briefly upon the fate of the Academy of Arcane Science, Thane de Bourbauge expressed hope that it would resume its tradition of teaching excellence sometime in the near future.

Sources from Jaedaxia have reported a number of suspicious rumors regarding the exiled mage, including speculation that a good deal of the mages were murdered after going into hiding. These reports can not be confirmed at this time, however.

There has been evidence in the near past of some mages continued involvement within the city, despite the exile. The appearance of Jaedah’s Mirror has been attributed in part to the group, as well as mysterious murders that have yet to be solved.
