The dwarf's expression on Thracyn's arrival was not exactly disparaging but the young Medonian thought he had an idea of the thoughts running through the grizzled veteran's head. His newfound....well, it was certainly not fame, but reputation, perhaps, with the younger members of the Protectorat had certainly come with its' fair share of criticism as well. Thracyn still remembered the letter he had received after his recovery, congratulating him on a job well done but also promising a quick end to his career were he to ever disobey direct orders again. That part, of course, was not an official part of the 'story', but its' import had not been lost on the young sergeant.
With this in mind he nodded respectfully to the dwarf when something strange happened. A light contralto, pleasant and familiar, spoke where he had expected to hear a much deeper tone. He turned to find the source of the voice standing behind him and he smiled genuinely when Jasmine was revealed.
"Lieutenant," he offered with a salute before he nodded in response to her salutation. She looked the same as she had when she instructed him in the summer, though it seemed like much more time had passed than a few months. "It's good to see you as well."
"Are you ready for your longsword training? We'll have to go out into the courtyard which is unfortunately outside... but we won't remain cold for long." Jasmine said with a smile as she awaited Thracyn's response.
"I'm ready," he replied and he easily fell into step besides Jasmine as the pair left the warm confines of the training building and wound their way through the crowded courtyard. Recruits and older guardsmen were drilling with a variety of weapons across the flagstone surface, while a fair number of men stood to the side watching the action. Thracyn followed Jasmine as she led him to a relatively peaceful part of the yard and nodded in the affirmative in reply to her last question.
"Very well, thank you. How have you been?"
The pair continued to talk politely until Jasmine came to a stop in a mostly empty part of the courtyard and turned to meet Thracyn's eyes with a smile. He met her gaze and mirrored her expression with a small smile of his own.
"Ready when you are, Lieutenant."
