The Rasha’Shing was an enigma to him. Having never heard of it prior to his endeavor to Zinn’Sunn, the Heru Mynendil was challenged to understand what was happening around him. Subsequent of the aftertaste of the bitter leaf, Nimavel suspected that the plant was contributing to his hallucination, or at least, that’s what he initially believed it to be. Compliments of the Shadow Gaze, Nimavel was intimately familiar with the energy exuded by both living and nonliving creatures; however, what he perceived from the monk was entirely different. It was as if Kisman was manipulating the air itself and weaving it around him like it was tangible.
Observing the foreign barrier as it gradually enveloped them, the assassin’s lavender orbs glimmered with ambivalence. Uncertain whether or not he should allow the monk to continue with the routine, Nimavel finally decided to participate in the Sunn Monk’s activity –whatever it was. And it was only then did he realize that the room itself was transforming around them, shifting like the shadows and separating them from reality. Nimavel could not explain the phenomenon; he could only witness it with pure fascination.
Slowly and gracefully, Kisman’s arms spread apart, and the bronze-colored monk levitated into the air as if on invisible wings. Nimavel stared at him long and hard, his gaze flecked with sheer wonder.
Listening intently to the monk as he spoke, the Heru Mynendil considered Kisman’s challenge and welcomed the energy as the monk had done. Confiding in it enough to elevate him to Kisman’s level, Nimavel met the human’s stare. Strangely, the elf lord’s eyes did not reflect their usual skepticism; this was because he was beginning to fathom the superiority of Kisman’s experiences to his. Whatever knowledge the monk had obtained in his life, it was something that outshined anything the Heru Mynendil had ever grasped before.
There was much that he could learn from this man.
“What is happening, Master Kisman? And how is it that you are…’seeing’…these things…?”
He asked, not because Kisman’s assessment was inaccurate, but because it couldn’t have been closer to the truth. The elf lord had always lived a difficult life, one that promised to exacerbate with time, but how was Kisman perceiving all of this from the Rasha’Shing? What was the Rasha’Shing? Nimavel had to find out.
