[Shadow]

Though in the darkness of the void it was difficult to tell when it ended and he began, his mind was steadfast. He knew what was at stake, and that mistakes could not be made. Luckily he was in no hurry. Standing in the darkness, the worlds beyond tugging at the fabric of his mind, he patiently waited...

Observing, watching, understanding... Noticing another presence with in the darkness with him, stalking, watching, like him. Stalking the darkness, it mirrored him, no. It was him. But not entirely. Reaching out for it as he moved closer, he was not entirely sure what to expect. But he was sure by the way it smelled, the feel of its movements, that it was him, a part of him.

Two halves standing in the darkness, One lost. The other reaching out...

Coming face to face, their arms moving in unison, like reflections in a mirror, slowly their hands met, the darkness rippling at the merger. Sounds, colors, distinct scents and a well spring of knowledge seemed to be uncovered in an instant. Images of spells being cast, powerful incantations, all springing forth in a moments time... being covered by the darkness just as quickly as they sprang forth. For one brief moment, there was clarity.
