Base Weapons Shop
Abestat Military Base Weapon shop
The heavy brown door to the base Weapons shop-- a franchise of Cross Swords-- is almost always open. When entering it's smart to pick your feet up, a lip in the door trips most people. Inside you are faced right away with a large amount of short swords lined up on a make shift shelf. Their blades gleam in the sun that shines through the many windows in the shop. A cool sea breeze moves through the shop, the windows open slightly to allow the breeze. The rest of the room is filled with shelves of weapons of your choice. All types of swords, axes, and daggers cover the area. Wauf, (brother of Gauf) a stout dwarven man walks around, looking for a thief in action, a customer to swindle crowns out of, or to take a peek out the open door at a pretty lady walking by. In each of the corners is the same sign with the list of weapons the store has to offer.

Yarrow had recently given up a dagger to a friend and had found out how much she missed it. She had decided that with her pay she would investigate the prices and styles of daggers...and what better place to go to then the Military store?
After entering and momentarily looking at the dagger list she approached the fellow who looked in charge of the place. He was a dwarven male who had his eyes upon the other costumers...the ones who looked suspicious. She didn't blame him in the least.
Serale sir...I was wondering if you could help me with something... She paused, waiting to see if she had gotten his attention. Yes well...might I inquire upon the difference between a Flame Dagger and the Cossack Dagger? She had seen that they were both of the same price and could understand why....maybe he would be able to sort her out.

She looked over the daggers and figured out the difference. The one had a more jagged age and the other looked like a banana. Oh I see! She exclaimed...very happy she had figured this out. I'll take a Cossack Dagger and a Thrusting Dagger, please. she pulled out a bank note of 180 crowns. It should be a total of 175...she calculated quickly that her change would be 5 crowns... (she only took so much math at school growing up.)

Wauf was about to answer Yarrow until it seemed the corporal figured out the difference. The dwarf scratched his head, and shrugged his shoulders as he watched her. He pulled out the requested items, and gave her the knives and the sheaths to go with it. He took the bank note and gave her 5 crowns in return "there you go corporal that there will be a nice weapon for yea for sure. Pitty the person who is victim." Wauf laughed and then when Yarrow was not looking he checked her out head to toe....

Well thank you very much, sir. She told him checking out the two daggers thoughtfully. When she had checked them out to her satisfation they seemed to disappear up her sleeves in a blink of an eye. That had been a trick she had learned from her brother. I'd hate to be that person, myself. Good day to you! She told him solemly and slid out of the store.

Striding into the base's weapon shop quickly, he has no time to waste - he knows a war is brewing, and a single broadsword will not get him through.
"Good sir," he addressed the Dwarf politely, but hastily, "I need large Bastard Sword - and do you have scabbards for a broadsword and a bastard sword?"
Already, the hasty man is plucking out his Gold Crowns, whilst listening intently on the shopkeeper.

The dwarf nodded and retrieved a large bastard sword. Indeed a very large weapon his then word "large'. It was very destructive weapon when a hit was conneceted that is for sure. The dwarf then sat to sheaths for the bastard sword and the large sword. The dwarf then leaned against the counter "tell yea what just give me 320 crowns I wont charge notin extra for the sheaths. Now go there be battles to win." The dwarf was busy handing out weapons of many sorties and would take the crowns quickly as Abestat fought in the streets....

Hastily setting out three hundred and twenty gold crowns, he set the bastard-sword sheath to his left waist, and his broadsword sheath to his right. Taking the bastard sword, he held it up with his right hand, examined the blade for a short moment, before sheathing it. If it was not for the fact that he was untrained in weaponry, when he has drawn all two blades, he would be fearsome to behold to his opponent.
"Thank you - good day and take care!"
And off to war the man goes!

Wauf clapped his hands with glee. He always liked times of unrest and war, because that meant that there would be an upswing in customers heading his way. He was most happy about that because that meant more crowns in his pocket. Of course he proclaimed himself to be a loyal son of Abestat but it was obvious to anyone who chatted with him for more than a minute that his two great loves were fine weapons and making money. He was the expert to come to on either one.

The last time Agaenos came here, he was in a dire hurry, to purchase a large Bastard Sword to help him in battle. He had completely no time to embrace the surrounding of the weapons shop, nor even got to do so much as to glance upon the shopkeeper, Wauf.
After Agaenos had formally met Yarrow and Keeva, and befriended them, he had decided Abestat either was cursed, or was under a crippling misfortune - but whatever it was, there was something to do with a group of evil magicians. If it was going to be the three of them to fight against a whole council of mages, so be it. However, he was not going to confront them without ample equipments.
Entering the forge, he saw the Dwarven shopkeeper, Wauf.
"Ah, serale and good brightening (even though it was already a Darkening). Could I order three throwing knives please?" He asked politely, before looking down, and started his second request.
"Erm... also, do you suppose you could cap my leather boots in steel, and add a three-inch spike at the head of each of them?"

Ryuujin walked into the shop and saw his friend Agaenos. He nodded a greeting to him then proceeded to the clerk.
"Excuess me sir," began Ryuujin "I was wondering if I could place an order for 2 small half rings of spikes to attach to the leading edge of my two bucklers? I can leave the bucklers here with you if that is needed."
OOC: Ok just so its clear I am looking to attach spikes to the front edge of my bucklers, preferably of the strongest metal I can. sorry I worded that kindof strange.

Wauf smiled at Agaenos. "I don't have much in the way of armor, but I can give you the 3 throwing knives for 250 crowns total." He went and got the knives, offering to properly balance them for Agaeno's weight and grip for an extra 50 crowns total.
He glanced down at the boots in question. "That's something you'll have to take up with the base Smithy or Armorer. It's weapons I specialize in, not armor sorry."
Wauf turned to Ryuujin. "You should see the base Quartermaster about that as well. He was just telling me the other day that he did something like that for a dracon, but the fellow never came back to pay him and pick them up. You might as well go take the bucklers yourself since that other guy never came back, right?"

Seeing Ryuujin walking into the shop, he smiled to Ryuujin, looking amusedly to himself whether he might have tripped over himself upon the lip of the door, before his lips allowed the sound of a cheery "Serale!" to escape.
"Ah - alright then. I would seek out the armourer. As for the throwing knives," he paused briefly, closing one eye and examining the throwing knives carefully, feeling the weight of one of them before returning them to the base smith, "Yes - I will pay the extra fifty to properly balance them for my weight and grip."
From one of his pockets, three notes, each of one-hundred crown value, were plucked out, and handed over carefreely to Wauf.
"How soon would that be completed, may I inquire?"

Wauf shrugged. "As long as it takes, I guess. Tomorrow, I need you to come out back with me and make some practice throws."
The next day, Wauf guided Agaenos out back, where some target dummies were set up, and gave him a variety of knives to throw at them, so he could accurately measure Agaenos' ability.
Once Wauf had enough results to make accurate measurements with, he excused himself and went into the rear of the store. Agaenos was left cooling his heels outside for the better part of the afternoon, but eventually Wauf came back and handed him the 3 throwing knives.
Another round of tests, and Wauf made some notes and went back inside with the knives. "Oh, you'll have these in just a minute."
Some hours later, at dusk, Wauf returned. "Here you are, all done!"

Nodding to Wauf's shrug and answer, he decided to abide to what Wauf had to offer. Sure... tomorrow might not be the most ideal speed Agaenos had hoped for... but, ah well - what could one expect? After all, these weapons had to be forged out of raw materials...
And so he arrived the day after, eager to see how his knives were doing. To his slight disappointment, however, Wauf wanted him to do practice throws first, before he could forge them. Fortunately, Agaenos was an understanding Human, and realised soon enough that tests must be taken to work out his exact balance and grip. So, with each throw, he stepped out with his left foot, pointing it forward, and held the dagger by its hilt. Raising his left hand, all five fingers pointing to the dummy, he raised his right hand above and beyond his head. Using the left arm as a pendulum, he swung his right arm, trying to throw the dagger as accurately as he could, even though he was prepared to grimace the fact that he was completely untrained in throwing weapons.
Wauf seemed to have enough results to start forging the knives. Excusing himself, he left Agaenos waiting for most of the afternoon, when he finally returned much later, requesting for another set of test throws upon the dummies, using the same techniques.
Finally, dusk approached, and with it, the Human's "hidden trait". Staring longingly at the darker part of the sky, towards the east, his mind was soothed, his heart tranquil - to be stirred in a pleasent way when Wauf returned, announcing the long-awaited "All done!"
"Ah, thanks..." He grinned, somewhat mysteriously and certainly kindly, before raising up a thumb, and trotting off the ground, his three knives proudly sheathed.
Still, though, he hoped they were forged faster...
