A seasoned and young Lt. Commander walked sternly up to the ever growing army. He eyeballed a few people and spat wicked looks at the occasional soldier, and continued walking inspecting the army harshly. The Commander then climbed up on his horse as though a stage for everyone to see him. He then bellowed out new information to soldeirs "You all know about the Orcish raid that took place a while back, and how foolish that made us look. However, we have grown and we are even more vigilent than before. In fact I can not wait until those dogs come back one day. In the mean while I am sure you have observed the new tower built in base. Many stories going around about it, but that is our new arcana training center. However, we will call it the Arcana Tower of Illusion for the time being. Any soldier interested can go and register...and then give arcana a try. In all remain strong and always improving...that is all."

The commander then rode off to his office leaving the men talking with excitment of the new opportunity.

[Yarrow]

Corporal Yarrow Woodruff stiffened thoughtfully. She had been in the raid and had felt its wrath first hand. She hadn't gotten as much training as she would have liked to, but now was the time to learn. They were finally going to teach them something. Yarrow stifled a smile and dared not peek to see if anyone she recognized was near by. Once he was gone, however, she could look about at the excitment...and there was excitment. Might as well get a head start! She thought to herself and broke formation. She headed in the direction of the sign up.

[Daniel]

The Lt. Commander returned, this time having new information. "It has come to my attention that we have many new buildings here that have finally finished construction, and all will need watches and patrols. For the next few cycles until everything has stablized into a new routine, I am going to have the watch Captain assign everyone an extra 4 hour guard shift.
You will be responsible for patrolling the grounds of your building and logging in at the security desk once per candlemark. Larger buildings will have one person at the desk at all times and a rover who spends the shift on patrol. Any questions?"

[Keeva Kaldres]

Keeva, who had remained characteristically silent up to this point, snorted softly as she heard the Lt. Commander's second announcement. She was most definitely not looking forward to being given an extra four hour shift. However, the least she could do was argue with her commanding officer, and so she thought it most wise to keep her mouth shut. She would just have to wait to see which building would be assigned to her by the Watch Captain.

Cocking her head slightly to pass something taht was a cross between a snigger and a grin up the line towards where Yarrow was stood, the young woman wondered if her friend thought about this new announcement much in the same was she did.

The Lt. Commander glanced down at his list. "To avoid any charges of favoritism or collusion, and to show that we here in the Abestat military are all one big happy family, and not simply some organization where the privates do all the work, then I am pleased to announce that all new Sergeants will also do an extra set of four hours once per cycle."

He read a few more messages that were of no relevance to anyone who was a Captain or below, and then dismissed everyone with:

"There will be a listing posted at each barracks with patrol assignments in addition to the main listing, so everyone should be able to find one or the other. Dismissed!"
