War In Abestat!

[Tammo]

A small orc could be seen running around crying at the men, but few paid attention. But when he jumped up on to a table and roared at them they listened, and they listened good!

" All soldiers report to me immediately. " he screamed at them, " We need as many troops as possible, our city is in open rebellion, all soldiers get your armour and weapons, if you do not already have them, and report to me as soon as possible! Never mind about your sqauds or whatever right now. I will be leading the task force. So hurry! Thats an Order!!! "

He then drew out a jagged looking scimtar. It was the typical weapon of an orc.

[Yarrow]

Yarrow's heart turned cold. She had heard rumors, of course, but nothing that said right out "war". It took her a moment to understand and then when she did, calm settled in. She was in her uniform and under her uniform she always wore some kind of armor. Her long sword, axe and her two new daggers were all that she cared, but she held more then those as weapons. She had been learning simple spells of Druidism and could do a few little tricks or two.

Yarrow came at attention. Corporal Yarrow Woodruff, sir. I am here and ready, sir. She told him, giving the orc a salute.

She knew nothing about what was going on, but what she did know was that this man was the boss...the fellow who DID know. As long as one person knew what was going on then they might have some chance...not like last time. Yarrow almost shuddered, but that wouldn't do. He might think that she was thinking about the war to come when she wasn't. No...she was thinking about the war that had been...the Orc Raid on Abestat. She had been there. But this time I am more prepared.

[Tammo]

" Good corporal, we need as many as we can get!!! " he sighed at the lack of entusiasm from the troops, then belted out at them again, " Come on people! We need to put this uprising down! Two troopers cannot do this! Now come on! Abestat needs you ! "

At this a handsome young elf stood forward. His eyes shone blue, and his long blonde hair fluttered in the wind. " I shall come. " was all he said, and his voice was strong, but sweet in the way that only an elf's voice can.

" Oh yeah? And who might you be? " asked the short little orc.

" I am Erecvil, Corpral. " he answered, and a katana could be seem draped at him left hand side, glittering in the pale light, of the horrid day.

The orc nodded at him and smiled, " Two corprals, thats not too shabby, but we need more people! Lots more! "

The elf turned and smiled at Yarrow, and winked at her. At the same moment three more soldiers stepped forward. One was a elf, a moriquendi, while the other two where humans. They all looked terribly frightened, for war had become some sort of ritual here.

OOC: Can all who want to take part please do so quickly. I want at least another 5 PC please.

[Milo Chubb]

"WAR! Dear sweet Grandma! Actual war!", Milo shouted, terrified.

Yer in the army now, he thought. He didn't think he'd see action so soon.

"Erm, reportin' for duty, Sir. Private Milo Chubb, scout. I think I'll be of some use to ye, even though I'm greener than grass in Enamoria.", Milo said, trying to look as dashing and courageous as he could. He still hadn't got his dagger training, and spent most of his days at home, or wandering cluelessly around the base.

[Kellos Vastak]

Kellos turned as the Orc zipped past, and his features turned cold, quite unusual for such ahappy man. "So the time is finally upon us..." he whispered, and looked down at Mari, who was circling his feet. HE smiled at the cat, and looked to his hand, the fresh cut still burning from the oath. He squeezed his hand hard, and laid his other upon his longsword. "I have not forgotten. Today is the day I fight for my people... Hey, ord!" he souted as he ran up to the otc. He bowed slightly "Kellos Vastak reprting for duty. I have my weapons, but as of now, no armor." He looked around, there was nearly noone else in sight. "Where is everyone"

[Vincent Stefan]

Vincent walked over rather comely to the screaming orc. " I'll help, Vincent, Private First Class." With that he waited to see who else would join.

[Agaenos Phidion]

"What?!"

Ill news. From what Agaenos could gather from the Orc, this... first assignment that he would receive, looks grim. An outright rebellion! The man's heart plunged - he has not received any training, and he is armour-less save for a buckler and a pair of full leg greaves, which would prove far insufficient. What would he do? Flee? "Yes, an option... No! - by Aslan I would not!"

Sprinting to the Orc, he stopped right in front of him, almost crashing into him (which would be most unpleasent).

"Private Agaenos Phidion, here and ready!" Though his speech did not falter, nor did he tremble, he knew the "ready" part was only to reassure the Orc. Secretly, he hoped someone would give him a piece of body armour - anything, just anything.

[Tammo]

" This is good....This is very good, " was all he could say as the volunteers started to line up.

" Alright men, and women, have you all got armour and weapons at hand? If not you will need armour immediately! " he called and stepped aside, and let three huge men dump a load of armour and weaponry. Ranging from heavy to light, and from knives to broadswords, " Alright, take what you need, but do not burden yourslef to an unneccessary extent. "

As he said this Raspitth himself began to pick up a breastplate and strap it onto himself. His weapon continued to dangle at his side.

" Alright line up, and at attention! I need to do a head count. To my understanding another small squad has been deployed to the area of hostilities. We will most likely be the 'mop-up' crew. Now ATTENTION! AND REPEAT YOUR NAME! "

He counted the two men, Moriquendi, and elf whom had already reluctantly stood forward, he just now awaited the others.

OOC: This thread is still open for anyone else wanting to join. But not for that much longer.

[Agaenos Phidion]

Armour! The one thing that the new Private is sorely lacking on. "Thank Aetheria..." was all he could think of. Approaching the pile quickly (before other people could have a chance for their own picking), he selected a fine breast plate, which he wasted no time in strapping it on, as well as taking two of the smallest knives, which he hopes no one would mind.

Jogging hastily to line up, he stood and...

"Now ATTENTION! AND REPEAT YOUR NAME!"

Being lined after the two Men, a Moriquendi (a tickling of doubt kindled within his mind, but he snuffed it out almost immediately), and an Elf, he waited for them to finish their names before:

"Private Agaenos Phidion!"

[Ryuujin]

Ryuujin ran up to the Orc, holding up his ID and said "Private Ryuujin reporting Sir. I'm here to help." Ryuujin saw the pile of armor and weapons and picked up a ring mail breast plate, a small buckler and a battle ax. He put his own smaller ax in his belt. "Where do you want me sir?" asked Ryuujin confidently

[Milo Chubb]

Milo ran up to the pile of armour and picked some light gauntlets and breast plates. He tried running with the armour on. Good, still light-footed.

He stood in line with the other recruits, and shouted out "PRIVATE MILO CHUBB!" after Agaenos. He was nervous, so his voice sounded silly, almost feminine.

[Agaenos Phidion]

Chuckling slightly, he could here the nervousness within the Hobbit's voice next to him. "Do not worry, good Hobbit," he whispered with his lips tight, so the Orc officer would hopefully not notice him talking, "If anything else, they'll be stabbed in the back by you whilst I'm right in front of them, causing a rattle." With that remark, he grinned slightly.

[Kellos Vastak]

Kellos looked down at the pile, and knelt beside it. He rummaged around for a while, and found a suit of ranger platemail, light metal gauntlets, and a pair of plated boots. He quickly fastened up the armor, latching up the chest plates, shoulder and crtch guards, and fastened the plate leggings, then fitted himself with the boots, and lastly strapping on the gauntlets. He searched the pile once more, and revealed two small daggers, strapping one to each of his shoulders. He was suprised, the armor was not as heavy as he thought, and did not restrict his movement nearly at all, and the armor seemed strong enough. He rose from beside the pile, and stood before the orc with the rest of the group. He drew his longsword, and held it in his right hand, the blade gleaming briefly as he took it from its ssheathe. He stood at attention. "Private Kellos Vastak reporting for duty!" he shouted. "I-" he faltered briefly, and his features became solemn "I will fight and die for the freedom of Abestat! Against the people of Alleria Prime! My soul and swords are at your command!"

[Tammo]

The Orc had no time for people whom did not answer and did not care. His un-natural lust for war was too strong, and he literally wanted to get his teeth sunk into the enemy.

Ryuujin

" Alright Private, just stand to attention in the line, " he snarled at him. " I can probably tell by your eagerness, that this is your first battle? Am I right? "

Milo Chubb

He could not help but snigger at the pitiful voice of the private, but a soldier was a soldier, " Its good to see new blood, frsh meet for arrow fodder! "

Kellos Vastak

The orc was very pleased with Kellos. He had picked a fine set of armour, and looked like the perfect kind of elite warrior he needed. " I am glad that you feel as strongly about our fine city as I, good to have you with us! "

Then he looked at the company. He had nine. Ten including him. It was only a mop-up crew, so it was not terribly improtant of the numbers, but ten was good enough.

" Alright then you filthy little scum-bags! I am proud that today is the day, that we! defenders of the free people of Abestat may die together today! If Abestat should fall, then let it fall with a great cry! Let them know that we will not go quietly!!! "

He raised his weapon in the air, and screamed, " Forward! March, two ranks of five! "

And with that they marched onward to the battle, and to their doom.
