AToI Ryuujin (Intiate Elementalism)

The elf nodded "we have openings in that spot for sure." Soon a runner quickly came and went to fetch the teacher. The tower was buy with new members thats fire sure with people busily moving to and from. The colors were crisp and glenn in the tower. Most people spoke with a calm tone, and wish not bother other with obstructive behavior. Indeed it was easy to tell this was a place of much thinking and concentration.

Soon an older man approached he was a dark skinned man. He had short hair almost completely shaved. He was fairly muscular, and wore the abestat uniform. He then grinned at his new disciple and then asked "
come walk with me as we talk elementalism we have much to learn, and talk about."

After walking for a while they found themselves out side Abestat in a open field. The field had short grass and weeds with mostly dirt mounds "so tell me several things what do you know of Elementalism. And of course what s your name?

Ryuujin could see that this was a man to be respected and, for the first time in Ryuujins life, He felt like showing respect to this man. "My name is Ryuujin sir and I have been reading about elementalism and am facinated by it. I read about the Mandate of Ioannes and realised that if I could do that spell than I could decimate a fortified enemy easily. Also I thought that the Elemental Wall would be a tremendous assest in a tight spot. One of my favorites was the Imbue Element spell though. With that any enemy would fall before my ax." As Ryuujin said this he pointed at his ax in his belt. "What name may I call you sir?"

The instructor smiled "my name is Kales" Kales stood straight and in thought "The Power of the Elements are harnessed by a fierce group of spellcasters called Elementalists. Arguably one of the oldest schools of arcane spellcraft in the empire, Elementalism is the use of elemental energy from Fire, Air, Earth and Water to create offensive spells and some defensive capabilities. For the purposes of Elementalism, each element has a counter-element (but not necessarily vice-a-versa): Fire is countered by Water, Water is countered by Air, Air is countered by Earth, and Earth is countered by Fire. Elementalists are militant about their craft and fiercely dedicated to the preservation of the elements. Additionally, Elementalists are able to interface with the parallel Planes of Fire, Air, Earth and Water to summon elemental beings to do their bidding. The combination of tactical spellcasting with conjured creatures makes the power of the Elementalist something to fear and admire." Kales then let it all sink in explaining it several times in repition for his new student.

He then touched Ryuujin on the shoulder causing a the strangest sensation in Ryuujins body. Everything became bright, and everything had a aura about it. It was astonishing as many different colors fille d the air, and his thought sank away as his body tingled. He felt free, and in touch finally with Arcana. It was all around him in the air every even in side him. Kales smiled as he let Ryuujin let everything soke in. It was indeed rememberal moment.

kales then reassured Ryuujin "
you are now unbound ready to experience the world of Arcana. The effects will fade away of course."

Ryuujin almost felt himself lift of the ground. It was a wonderful feeling. How he couldn't wait to get started. A vision past through his head of himself as an Elementalist Archmage, wielding a Doa made Double headed Broad Ax he had gotten on his trip to the Plane of Earth. Then Ryuujin snaped out of his day dream. "What will we start with Master Kales? I was hoping that my first spell would be the Elemental Orb, but there are probably a few things I need to learn before I start learning spells aren't there?"

OOC: ok thats it. I can not have PC's come and sit in on the these threads and rush to get them done. You will have to work hard for your spells. YOur role play is not sufficient enough Ryuujin. You gave a weak paragraph and trying to get me to teach you spells in a blaze. I can tell you this that if thats gonna be your way of role playing you wont get far. I gave you more than enough information, and detail to post a paragraph about the info I gave. Then another paragraph of being unbound. You then could have added another paragraph of the effects wearing off. Then another about your ambitions wich is fine. Then another in maybe asking the instructor about his first time. If you don't work hard to Rp this thread I will walk you through the initiate spells, but I will make wait a long time until I teach apprentice level to you. posting one weak paragraph is almost mocking the work I am going to have to put into you and the other Pcs. Arcana is trying stuff so Rp that it is. I expect you to repost with a better post to my last response.

OOC: I'm really sorry spock. I didn't know that I was doing any of that stuff, I was just trying to show that Ryuujin was excited about something for the first time in his life. I'm really sorry. I don't wana rush through this, I just didn't know that there was a way that I was suppose to post. I'll do it over.

IC: It was the most wonderful feeling in the world. Ryuujin felt as if the world was flowing through him, he could feel the energy inside his body welling. He couldn't help but let out a shudder. The power that he felt was just so overwhelming. He saw the swirls of color before his eyes like an infinite kaleidoscope pouring the blues into the reds and making the violet shift to orange and the into colors that had no name.

As these sensations and visions dimmed Ryuujin looked at Kales. "That was incredible", Ryuujin said. He didn't want it to end. It had felt so wonderful to see everything in its entireity. Ryuujin took the ax from his belt and set it on the grass and sat down next to it.

"Master Kales" said Ryuujin "I'm particuarly interested in the Element of Earth. I have always felt a special connection with the trees and rocks and soil. The power of the Earth seemed to always pull me towards it. " (No pun intended)

"Master?" querried Ryuujin "What was it like when you first were unbound...and what is unbinding anyway?"

Kales smiled as he observed Ryuujin, for it reminded him of he was when being unbound. Kales sat in thought as he waited f or the effects to ware off. He then patiently responded "being unbound is like being unlocked in a sense. Now free to tap in the planes of magic in specific you are getting access to the plane of elements. Your mind is also set free to explore Arcana. Only the adept mage can do this. Yea understand ?"

Kales knew it was a lot to take in, but trusted eventually Ryuujin would understand. Kales nodded "yes earth it is indeed mighty, and the reason for many of our being. Soil is needed to grow plants, and also is what forms what we say is beautiful landscape. However, it surely does have it strength, and to discount earth is foolish."

Kales then casted a spell called "Earth Spike." The ground quickly in a flash rather formed long spikes and nasty obstacle for sure. if it were time right it could cause an enemy harm. Kales then pointed "that Ryuujin is an earth spike your first spell you will learn. It is quite deadly, and a natural obstacle. If you time it write could wound some one badly. Now to cast a spell you will have to enter a state of Clara to do so. First tap into your Vis which is your natural Arcanic energy within your self. Use it carefully if you drain it or misuse it you t hen will die. moving on use your Vis to connect to the Ara that is the natural arcanic energy all around us...outside us so to speak. After the connection is made then you tap into the mana energies of the plane of elements. Thus using these energies to form your spell, and in the end forming the elements of earth to conjure up as spikes or long pikes of earth in the the area of focus."

Kales motioned to give a shot, and observed patiently as Ryuujin casted his first spell....

OOC: Do not worry about it. I am not angry do not get that impression. I am a very laid back guy. =) that post was much better. There is not a special way to post so to speak, but the quality needed to come up. Just a challenge so you will get more out of alleria. Just post now the attempt to cast your first spell using the information I taught you. Try to mention all the steps you took, and the effort of your focus. This is your first spell so it will be hard and long. Ok I will quit with the OOC heh...

Ryuujin nodded as Kales stepped back to let him perform the spell. Ryuujin tried to enter a state of calm to search himself for this Vis. Ryuujin was an expert at calming himself because he was a Dracon and Dracons were bred to be fighting machines, and so could keep their calm in the most vicious of battles. He imagined a light being pulled from the pit of his stomach. Pulled out and streched so it covered him all the way to his finger tips.

Next he imagined a picture of the elemental planes he had once seen in a book. He imagined himself zooming inward toward the plane of earth. He saw swirls of color that were the omniverse as he was pulled toward the plane of Earth. As he entered the plane he saw some spires of earth and stone. He willed them with all his might to be pushed out of their plane into the Plane of the Material. Then he willed it to come up out of the ground into the light. Ryuujins Brain felt like it would explode with the concentration that he was putting into this. "NOW!" Ryuujin yelled as he thrust his hand at the spot that he wanted the spikes to appear. He imagined the light that had welled inside him flying out of his extended hand to the point and exploding in a flash of light. Ryuujin closed his eyes, his head throbbing, and prayed that it had worked.

Kales smiled with more of a grin as he saw his student sweat and shake as he tried with all his might to start off well in the arts of the elements. Kales continued observing Ryuujin. It took the dracon quite a while, but like a sudden enlightenment Ryuujin grasped the concept, and began to forge the earth.

After an hour or so of trying it was so Ryuujin figured it out, and with his bold command of "now." The earth shot up and developed into many sorties of pike like spikes.

Kales grinned and touched the pike to see how sharp it was "not to bad Ryuujin not bad at all. Now take a brake and observe your creation here before we move on to your next spell."

OOC: Sorry to OOC again but its needed. Next time go through the steps of Vis and ARa. I am sure future mods will ask of that. Also you can add this spell to your list of officially learned spells. Which means you can use it in your rebellion thread if you want.

OOC: Just a question. I read the thing on Arcanomechanics and I know what the steps are now, but what type of mana shaping technique did Ryuujin just use? Abjuration or Conjuration? btw in the Rebellion thread I already said that I hadn't started learning elementasism yet so unfortunatly so I can't use it there can I? and I don't mind the OOC comentary

IC: After Ryuujin saw that he had done it he was amazed. He walked over to where Kales was looking at the spikes and put his hand out to touch them. "I was scarred that I would mess the spell up somehow and have the spikes appear under me", said Ryuujin with a small laugh. As he laughed Ryuujin sat down and leaned up against the spikes he had conjured. He felt so tired that he just couldn't keep standing. "Was this the first spell you learned?" asked Ryuujin panting slightly

kales nodded "yes it was in a matter of speaking. It was indeed hard for me as well. However, as i saw the spikes come forth and my view changed forever." Kales sat in thought and then continued "well lets begin our next spell, and then we will focus on learning meditation skills. The next spell is called Grasp. You can call upon the plan of air to make electricity or the plan of fire to envelop you hand into an aura of which element you pick. You then touch that person with that and inflict a fair amount of damage."

Kales then continued "now focus on your hand go through the proccess I told you about. Draw upon the element you pick and go from there." kales then gazed at the sky as he waited for Ryuujin to successfully cast it...

OOC: well when looking at and reading it. I think its a mixture of both in one sense.

Ryuujin nodded as Kales looked up and thought about what he needed to do.

First he began to calm his mind as he had done before. after about 6 minutes he felt ready. Then he began by focusing on the Ara around him and trying to pull it into his person. He tried to mix it with his own Vis inside him and increase its intensity. Then he tried to use its energy to fly out of his own body. He envisioned himself moving up as if through a veil into the Astral Plane. looking around in the Astral Plane he saw, as if outside of his own consciousness, a small light of changing color a short ways off. Something in the back of his mind told him that that was his practices essence. As he floated toward it he noticed that it was in fact 4 small lights. A violet, red, blue, and light brownish green. Knowing these to be the colors of the elements he decided that the Element of Air would be best, since that would produce a aura of lighting around his hands. He reached out and sunk his hand into the light and felt a cool breeze on his hand. He could feel the power radiating from this element now as, what felt like, small amounts of static electricity. When he felt that he had the power of the essence he began to pull his body back to the material plane, bringing the essence's power with him. Ryuujin's head surged with pain. He felt like his head had split in half. He went back to his warrior instincts to calm his mind and tune out the pain. Finally he felt himself come back to his body and could feel the light in him swelling as it had done before. Moving through all parts of his body, out to his finger tips. He then began to use the technique of alteration to shape the mana inside him. He molded the mana in his body into the pure electric energy of lighting and then shaped it into a mitten around his hand. Throughout this Ryuujin had had his eyes closed. partially because he was concentrating but also because the pain in his head was so strong, even though now it had dulled to an ache.

Slowly Ryuujin opened his eyes, wishing with all his might that he would see crackling lightning around his hands.

Kales grinned a gave a few claps in approval "thats an excellent job." It took Ryuujin a bit, but he was able to see his hand swarming with an odd sensation, but also a slight buzz that confirmed his hand was huming with the power of electrical properties. If he touched someone know doubt they would be in for a shock.

Kales let Ryuujin observe it for a while, and let it defuse since there was nothing to truly test it on. Kales nodded "well that will be it for today you will need to learn how to regain your Vis. " It was true right when he said that Ryuujin felt a drain of a sort it was hard to explain, but it could be felt as though tired. Some say it is like being tired in spirit so to speak.

Kales then instructed "Now I want you to clear all thoughts. Forget everything forget instincts and the troubles of the world. This is your time to focus is all in peace. Allowing your mind peaceful a and free access to meditation is key. Then focus on your Vis and welling it up trying ti build it back up to suitable levels. Just free your mind and it helps to breath in and out at a controlled pace. " kales then sat on a mound and rested as Ryuujin attempted his meditation....

Ryuujin was very glad that he had been able to complete the spell. The dull ache had dimmed considerably as Kales had spoken. He began to breath slowly. In........out........in........out, as each breath was inhaled he tensed his arms and legs. On the exhale he relaxed them. He began to clear his mind. Focusing on his Vis, and only his Vis. He forced it to be his only thought. He tried to pull it and stretch it. Forcing it to increase. All the time breathing, in........out..........tense..........relax. Ryuujin tried to keep his mind clear, but it was hard. He had learned so much so fast and images of what he had seen were flying through his head. The spikes, the astral plane, the essences, the strange feeling of electricity flowing around his hand. Finally Ryuujin cleared his mind and the meditation began to take effect.

One would think it would not be to hard to clear the mind. However, Ryuujin was new to the whole mediating world. It took him the res t of the day to enter the state for the amount of time he did. However, his mind slowly was able to widdle out the unnecessary events and issues of his mind. In a moment of quietness and peace he was able to feel his Vis and begin resting and focusing on it so that the Vis would of course increase back to a fair amount.

Ryuujin would have to do much more practice in order to mediate as best he can. However, kales yawned "well that sit for today meet me here early in the morning, and we will continue. Soon Kales mad way back to the city, and would of course return as he said he would..."
