Now that I've (almost) finished messing about with the training forum my next (overdue) project is the military district. You may or may not have noticed that the military is in an AWFUL AWFUL mess

Hands up anyone who actually a)knows who their commanding officer is b)knows the structure of the military here in Abestat?

*guesses she's looking at a sea of blank faces*

Obviously, this totally isn't and of your faults at all and I intend on righting this right away! I've also noticed there seems to be a lot of non-sensical location posts and we're missing vital locations, so that will all be getting organised too. And of course, you all seem to be getting INSANELY overpaid, but I fear changing that might mean a mob of flaming torches and pitchforks outside my office tomorrow

Okay, right, now that I've explained that in an extremely roundabout manner, here's what I need you to do:

All active members of the Abestat military please reply (that is... if you don't reply, I'll assume your not active, since inactive people won't exactly read this then not reply, cus they'd be active for a start, but anyway...) I want to know:

a)your rank
b)how long IC you've been in the military
c)your room number and people you might be sharing with if you know
d)a list of all and any equipment you were given when you signed up
e)your company/platoon/squad if you know it.

b) I joined on, let's presume, Kalendryas (since I never time-stamped it) so... Kalendryas, Immanis, Ponutis, Melora, Aperitus, Cryxatum... 6 IC months then.

c) Room Number (this is waaaaaay overdue, by the way): Room 101, sharing with PC's Ryuujin (inactive) and Kellos (active), also NPC Lucky, a Lutran.

d) Equipments given:

• 1 full steel helm
• 1 medium (??) crossbow

Error: Never given uniform IC'ly, so I had to always assume...

Hmm...Isn't it Comander Ryfellow? Or, at least, he was my commanding officer when I started out here. Not sure if he's still around though. As for the structure I'm actually completely clueless.

Yes jeez, the military, no offense Aesha, is a mess.

b) At least 7 brightenings, but I havn't done anything yet.
c) Room 307A. Only for privates I presume . . .
d)smart black breeches, a leather shirt, a chain mail shirt, and a tabard in black purple and gold, embroidered carefully with the sigil of the city on both the front at back. (Standrad uniform) smart looking blazer with accompanying breeches, cap and gloves. They were all made in the gold, black and purple colours of the city. (Dress Uniform) Sturdy leather boots.

Things I'd like to point out to everyone:

1) The military, at least us privates, have like no job. I tried to visit this castle place and ask if I should report there, so we'll see. But other than that, I think I'll just have to make my own thread for Room 307A, and hope others are also in that room
2) The military is not overpayed-storekeepers get around 35-45 crowns. Or, thats what I've been seeing. Military personal risks their life everyday, we should get more than them or at least the same.

I'll wait a little longer for everyone else, then I'll tell you what's going to be the norm from then on around here.

Yes, you may be getting paid roughly the same, generally a little more than shop clerks, BUT

you get:

1)free accomodation
2)free meals
3)free equipment
4)free training

etc.

The military in Abestat is more of a city guard than anything and the only risk you generally face on a daily basis is a run in with a potato peeler

Speaking of which, you just assume you do your chores etc, which does consist of cooking, laundry and stuffs. Other than that there ARE plots in process concerning the military, but the current one has to run it's course first, which unfortunately you came a bit too late to join.

...You are right...I know very little about who the "Commanding Person" is or the structure of anything is. If you hadn't told me all that stuff in our Council of The Fallen thread...I'd have no idea...

IMPORTANT: I just changed the minimum amount of time to serve in the military to ONE ERA. In conclusion, two patterns was a silly amount of time. That's what? the equivalent of 6 RL years? O.o

This applies to all of you, and you can just assume one era has ALWAYS been the minimum time of service.

Yep - 2 Patterns = 6 RL years. There's no way that could be the case... O.o At least, there's no way I'll be accepting that.

Wheeeee! The overhaul is beginning! You might not see any significant changes for a few hours, but a lot of old threads are being locked.

If your waiting for moderation in an old thread, and find it locked, please repost your request in the new equivalent once it's been posted up.

This will just make it easier to organise... there's probably a lot of unmoderated things that are now obsolete or not needed.

A couple of things to note:

There will be no new payroll office. You should be adding on your wage yourself every week.

Trials de Espada: These have been inactive for so long asfter fish stick left I'm just going to lock them... you can all just assume they were cancelled due to sudden freak weather conditions.

Any questions, post them up here and I'll answer!

One more thing!

Due to mass PC inactivity I'm shuffling around the housing arrangements a little.

Yarrow and Keeva: Are in Block 3, Room 2 of the Sergeants Quarters. IE: Room 302S.

Agaenos, Vincent, Kellos: You are all in Block 2, Room 4 of the Privates Quarters (yes, Corporals still slum it with the Privates ), in other words, room 204P.

You can all assume you've been told that IC. Those rooms will be posted up with the rest of the locations
