Great, I have to live with these people.
Alana was not at all pleased about how training had gone. She was tired and she was sore from head to toe. To make this even worse she was going to have to train bright and early in the the morning. Alana dragged her bruised body into the female barracks and was not to happy at what she saw. A big plain room, with another room attached which was the bath. "So much for home sweet home." Alana thought as she walked into the horrid looking room.
Alana was not the first of the females to get to the barracks. She had been in trouble with Silverblade and was held up before she was released to her quarters. When she entered the room, she felt the glare from every female in the room. They hated her and wanted her to pay for making them run for hours on end. Alana on the other hand could care less. She wasn't here to take pity of them. She was here to fight and fight she will if she had to.
Alana walked toward the only open bed she could see. It was the fifth one down and it was in right in the middle of room. "What are trying to do trap me?" Alana laughed as she threw her bag on the bed. The bag hit the bed with a thud. It was surprisingly heavy for a normal bag that should have been filled with training supplies. "What are you looking at?" Alana yelled sharply to the elf sitting on the bed next to her. "You got a problem?"
Alana was not in the mood for so dump girl to be cutting her eyes at her. Alana opened the bag and dumped the contains all over the bed. Among the mass of clothes and normal essistenl things were rocks. Big rocks. Alana had been using them as a tool to become stronger and faster. She wore the bag when ever she went out. This way she would learn to function just as she would with out the extra pounds. Alana opened he trunk that was placed at the foot of her bed and started to pile her clothes in. The whole time she was fully aware that ever female kept looking in her direction with a sense of hate in there blood. When she finished unpacking she took the rocks and place them back into the bag. She then slid the bag under the bed. After a glance around the room she climbed in her hard spring bed and closed her eyes. "Nobody Messes With Me" Alana said as he felt the eyes watching her as she started to fall asleep.

Alana awoke to the sounds of clashing pots and pans, the foul language of a certain Half-Elf waking her from her slumber. Even in the female barracks, it was impossible to escape from the Drill Instructor. With an amazing amout of cursing and screaming, Silverblade threatened, inspired and screamed his soldiers awake. Once he was satisfied the troops were not going back to sleep, he stormed outside to wake the men. The Elf in the bunk next to her was already dressing in her uniform, ready to move to the training field.

Alana closed her eyes after Silverblade had left her barracks and moaned that he could have woken the guys up first. She turned over and say that the elf was almost already dressed and pulled herself up out of the bed to do the same. She still seemed to be getting the cold shoulder from all the other females in the barracks. But she didn't need them one bit.
Alana finished dressing and pulled her hair back. Yesterday she left it down and it go in the way a bit. After pulling back her hair she made her toward the door to great the darkened early day. Before she could leave though the other females in the barrack surrounded her. "Let me pass." Alana said with slit eyes.
"You think you are better than us?" One Dwarf spoke out.
"She thinks we are no good." A Dracon female cried.
"If you think that we are going to let you slide for making us run you have another thing coming." Another human said.
With that the females moved closer in on Alana. "If you guys want to run some more go ahead, Silverblade knows all." Alana said with a smile as she turned around and headed for the training ground.

The recruits closed in, and it looked bleak as the Dwarf raised a meaty fist and the Draconess a hand full of claws. As the blows were about to land, there was a deep voice from the doorway. “You will not touch that girl,” it said softly. “Anyone who lays a hand on her will spend the next five days in the stockade, and then will be shipped off to a chain gang.” In the door stood a powerful Dracon, the pips of a lieutenant on his collar. Lt. Dal’Ronda Kayness was one who spoke quietly, but carried such power, you couldn’t help but listen to him. “You! And you!” he said, pointing to the Dwarf and the Draconess, “and you,” he added, pointing to Alana, “will come with me now. Everyone else, attend your duties.” With that, he turned and plodded out the door, expecting the recruits to follow.

Alana looked at the voice when it spoke. She couldn't help being slightly angry that she was saved from what was about to happen. Still she was happy that she was. She had not been in the presence of a Lt. before and to have it happen so early in the morning was a wake-up call. "What was he doing here so early?" Alana wondered. Then when he told her and two others to follow him she wanted to know why right then and there. But before she could raise a protest he turned and walked out the door. She hated being told what to do but she was now curious as to what he wanted and she followed him without a word.

Kayness walked out of the training compound and beckoned a passing Silverblade to follow. The Sergeant nodded and fell into step, casting a disappointed eye on Alana and her tormenters. They walked into a small stone building and into the Lieutenant’s office. Silverblade stood at parade rest beside the door and the girls were made to stand at attention in front of the desk. The Dracon officer eyed his three recruits and sighed, looking at forms on his desk. “Recruit Lamaisia, wishing to join the Lions as a Security Officer.” The Draconess next to Alana flinched. “Recruit Stoneblood, wishing to join the Lions as a Drill Instructor.” The Dwarf grunted, her cheeks becoming ruddy. “And finally, recruit Alana, wishing to join the Lions as an Intelligence officer.” There was a sigh as the officer eyed the girls, then turned to Silverblade. “Sergeant, these girls were caught in their barracks causing a fight. It was lucky I heard the commotion as I walked by… these two were going to seriously injure Recruit Alana.”
Silverblade snapped to attention before speaking to his superior. “Sir, these three have been warned against starting fights. They have spirit, but it is seriously misguided. Her first day here, Recruit Alana disrupted the training of my soldiers, seriously jeopardizing my training program. I spoke to her then, and warned her this would not be tolerated.”
Lt. Kayness nodded, turning back to the three soldiers. “It matters not who started this fight. I don’t know, and I don’t care. Each of you has been warned, and each of you will be punished. You are no longer individuals. Sergeant, it is my order that these three will be eachother’s comrades during all of training. They will eat together, train together and do duty together. They are not to be outside of ten feet from eachother at all times without your express permission. Failure to comply with this order will result in severe punishment for all three recruits. And if one fails for any reason, they all fail. Maybe this will teach them to get along and learn that aiding eachother is better than fighting eachother.”
Silverblade nodded crisply and said “Yes, sir. I will let my assistants know, and for the rest of the training, they will be partners.” He turned an eye to his soldiers. “RETURN TO BARRACKS! FOR THE REST OF THE DAY, YOU WILL BE CONFINED TO YOUR QUARTERS!”

Alana listened to the Lt. as he spoke. She was slowly getting more and more pissed with every word he said. She was not as weak as he thought and she was not about to have two tag alongs on her. She liked her private time and she was not about to give it up without a fight.
"Sir." Alana said when she was told to go back to her barracks. "Sir, I don't want to have them at my side for the rest of training. But, if I must then I will. Still I have to ask. Does this mean I'm no longer on guard duty?" She said with the straightest face.
Alana took a deep breath and stood at attention when she spoke her next words.
"Sir, I would like to challenege the two recruits to a match. I don't care the rules or the pentailte for asking such a request but I have something to prove." Alana didn't move an inch and waited for the answers to her question and her request.

The Lieutenant eyed the young recruit from the tip of her head to the toes of her boots. A look of stunned silence was plastered on his face. Silverblade had the same expression as he stared at the girl in fascination. Finally, Kayness found his voice. “Your request for a match is denied,” he said simply. “Recruits are forbidden to fight in any shape, way or form. As for guard duty, you will do your guard duty at the gates together. As I said… you will remain together. Sergeant… Take command of your recruits and carry on.”
Silverblade snapped a salute to his CO and turned to the girls, a look of disappointment and anger in his eyes. “Recruits, you will return to barracks. Finish getting ready and then join your training squad on the field. You have three minutes.” With that, the DI turned and walked out of the office without a backward glance. He seemed to have calmed down now.

Alana let out a low grumble as she marched back to the barracks with the two females right behind her. She was of course ready for the day but the other two where not. She was so pissed that she just wanted to challenge them right then and there. Who cares about those dumb rules. Alana stopped dead in her tracks and turned on the two recruits. She raised her hand to strike but stopped halfway. "No, I have to get through my training." She looked at the two females then proceeded to go back toward the barracks.
"Why don't you just do it." the Draconess said.
"Yeah, are you just chicken." the Dwarf
"I don't have to prove myself to you two." Alana replied
"Sure, why don't you just fight like a real person would." Sneered the Dwarf
"Yeah like you are a real person, short-stuff." Alana laughed out.
"You have not right to call people names human." The Draconess snarled.
"Stop talking and lets just get to the field." With that Alana marched on with the two recruits behind her.

Alana spent the rest of the day trying her best to slow her pace for the two other females. It was really ticking her off having to have this two things being her "battle buddy." The morning training did not go well. They could not work together at all and it just seemed to be a big mess. Lunch was even worse. Alana doesn't eat lunch, but the other too were hungry so of course she had to go to the mess hall and sit and watch them stuff there faces. All in all the whole day sucked. Finally it was time to go back to the barracks have some personal time. Now that would be great except for the fact that as soon as Alana dropped her things she was heading out the door for Gate Duty.
"Where are you going?" The Draconess yelled
"Gate Duty, smart one, or have you forgotten that you two have to come too?" Alana snapped back
"I'm not going anywhere." The Dwarf grunted out.
"Oh yes you are, you heard the Lt. since I have Gate Duty and you two are now attached to me and I you, you both have Gate Duty with me. Now can we go before Sivlerblade finds out we are not there?" Alana said in a forced nicer tone.
"I shouldn't have to suffer for your misdeeds." The Draconess coped out.
"Yeah" The Dwarf backed-uped.
"Well if you two were not trying to fight then you wouldn't have been punished for your misdeeds. You are not being punished for mine you are being punished for yours." Alana screamed. "Now I'm late, let's go before Silverblade finds out."
"You have no right to boss us around." The Dwarf roared
Alana took a deep breath, forced a smile on her face, and lowered her tone. "Look, I have Gate Duty, I don't feel like having to listen to Sivlerblade, let's go before we are caught."
"I worked hard for my free time, and Gate Duty is not the way I plan on spending it." With that Draconess sat on her bed.
"I can't stand you two!" Alana bellowed, "Lets go now, I am late and must get there before..."
It was too late, Silverblade had walked into the barracks.
"Great!" Alana thought.

It was horrible. The first thing Silverblade noticed was that his gate guard was still in the barracks, after her shift had started. And, of course, his recruits still hated eachother. “What the feth is going on here?” he asked, his eyes narrowing dangerously. “You three were ordered to remain together! THIS DOES NOT EXCUSE YOU FROM YOUR GUARD DUTY! MOVE IT! ALL THREE OF YOU!” The Half Elf’s eyes focused on Alana, the Dwarf and the Draconess. “IF YOU’RE NOT AT THE GATE IN TWO MINUTES, ALL THREE OF YOU, I WILL SHOVE MY BOOT SO FAR UP YOUR ARSES, YOU’LL BE TASTING MY BOOT LEATHER FOR A WEEK!” The rabid Half-Elf kicked, threatened and cajoled his three recruits out the door, slamming it shut behind them as he came outside with them. He grabbed the collars of all three females and literally started to drag them along behind him as he sprinted full out for the main gate.

Alana chocked as she scratched at her collar to get some air. She was going to take this anymore. She opened her mouth to protest but the Draconess got to it first.
"This is all your fault Human." She shouted
"My fault! I told you two that we had to get to Gate Duty." Alana retaliated
"If you had not been so keen on disobeying orders on the first day we would not have a problem now." The Dwarf screamed out.
"Well if you had just left me alone you wouldn't have had to give up your free time." Alana bellowed back.
"You are scum. You are nothing but filth!" The Draconess yelled out.
"Oh so what are you the best thing to grace the earth, I think not. Boy I swear, if the Lt. had just let me fight you to this would all be over."Alana replied
"Yeah, right, like you would have been able to beat us. You are nothing special." The Dwarf belched out.
The yelling match grew louder and louder. The only problem was they were so keen out putting the blame on each other they total blocked out the fact that they were being hauled by Silverblade. Of course he had listened to this for quite some time. How much longer would he allow them to fight before he stopped it or would he stop it at all?
Just then the Draconess reached her claws around to try to scratch at Alana just as Alana aimed a balled up fist at the Dwarf and the Dwarf aiming a shot at Alana's stomach. When all their shots came up short they were brought back to the awful truth that Silverblade still had a hold of them. Again they tried to reach each other and again and again. They didn't care that Silverblade was keeping just far enough apart so they couldn't reach each other.
"You think you don't need anyone Human." The Draconess cried.
"I don't, all I had was one person and he sent me away, why do I need friends." Alana said
"Well when finally realize you need somone to have your back don't come to us" The Dwarf cried out and once again they all tried to reach each other with the intent to land just one blow.

“ENOUGH! bellowed Silverblade. He flung the Dwarf and the Draconess so hard, they literally sailed through the air to crash into a wall, collapsing in a heap onto the ground. Alana was not far behind. Stunned, the trio looked up to see a very, very pissed off Silverblade storming up to them. The rage in the Instructor’s eyes did nothing to make either of them hope for mercy… and neither would they get it. A slender but strong hand reached down and hauled each of the recruits to their feet, pressing them roughly against the wall. “YOU THREE WANT TO FIGHT? WE’LL FIGHT! ALL OF YOU AGAINST ME! AND SO HELP ME, IF I CAN’T GET YOU TO RESPECT YOUR TEAM MATES, I WILL GET YOU TO RESPECT YOUR UNIT!” Silverblade was already pulling off his shirt, tossing it aside. Muscles rippled thickly under his skin, revealing scars and old wounds received only on the field of combat. He set his feet and made a motion with his fingers… Bring it on!

Alana hit the wall so hard she did not have time to think twice before Silverblade was snatching her to her feet with the Draconess and the Dwarf. Silverblade was angry, really angry and his rage screamed from every inch of his body. Then he said it, he told them to fight him. This battle between her and Silverblade wasn't supposed to come so soon. There was no way Alana and her fellow recruits could beat the multi-master at what he does best. Still she had to try. She was going to fight and do her best, she was dead set on showing Silverblade that she could accomplishing something. Alana looked at the Draconess and the Dwarf. Like her they were recovering from the viloent throw into the wall. When their eyes met she knew they were thinking the same thing. They had to try and they were going to do it together.
Alana, the Draconess, and the Dwarf took there fighting stances surrounding Silverblade. He couldn't stop all three of their attacks at once. Alana took out her dagger and lunged forward with her right making a slash for Silverblades open chest. At the same time the Draconess pulled our her dagger but made a swift move for his legs to make him fall and the Dwarf readied her dagger just the same and went for Silverblades groin. They hoped
beyond hope that even if their attacks didn't hit him he would at least fall or stumble enough to give then another striking change.

The Half-Elf didn’t even flinch, locking his legs to keep the Draconess from injuring him while gripping both the Dwarf and Human by their weapon hands in an iron grip. A swift foot came up to connect with the Draconess between the legs, while his hands yanked his other two opponents off balance. With a deft movement, he was five feet away, crouched in a combat stance, his arms spread and his hands closed into loose fists. His eyes narrowed dangerously as he launched himself into the air, barreling like a bull into the Draconess, bodily slamming her into the wall. There was a solid “CRACK!” as her head connected with the bricks, and she slumped to the ground, unconscious. The angry Half Elf turned to face his remaining recruits, his eyes locking onto Alana, a dangerous smile playing on his lips. “You three would use weapons against an unarmed opponent? Come, have I taught you no honor?” He crouched low, his fingers touching the sand, waiting for his students to come to him.
