From the City Gates ...

The trail of twin carts, their passengers, a lone female, and a rider atop a midnight Carmelyn Warsteed soon passed onto the cobblestones and took in the sight of the ruined city. What was once a beautiful port city was now a smokey heap of destruction and death. Straylor had to raise his sleeve to his nose from inhaling too much smoke. His lungs did not like the smell and his body reacted quite horribly even if it was just after effects of the Great Fire.

"I remember my father telling me of a Fire that consumed Paxia", he said solemnly, "perhaps the gods are trying to get our attention..." Shaking his head, they continued onward. The farmhands were walking beside the larger cart now, the one pulled by the Mellan team. They were also both shocked and amazed by the destruction one gnome supposedly conjured by ways of gadgeteering.

"I tell ya...", Ralf sighed. The farmhand was wearing his cleanest pair of trousers along with a light coloured tunic. His red hair was allowed to grow over the course of his employment with the Leonardes C&W. And now, he was also sporting a fairly thick moustache which made eating a whole lot more pleasant -- so he said.

Harris was wearing a long-sleeved tunic that was blue in color. His work trousers were dotted with dirt and had an occasional tear, but he was bothered little by it. The man kept his dark hair neatly drimmed, causing his wide blue eyes to stick out like a pair of orbs from his thin face. Looking about the charred city, he nudged Nelson who was muttering something beneath his breath.

"Ey, what're you fussing for?", he demanded, "you're making me all nervous-like."

"There must be thousands of ghosts 'round here", Nelso whispered loud enough for everyone else to hear, "I can feel them!"

"Stop it, now you're just being ... seriously, stop..."

Straylor turned around just in time to see Nelson sprinkling salt around him. He laughed but managed to cut it short to make sure that he didn't insult his farmhand's beliefs. "How are you feeling?", Stray asked Elma who had taken to walking instead of riding on one of the carts.

Unlike Straylor she did not cover her nose she let the odors of the fire envelop her. It seemed respectful of the dead to not shy away to what had transpired. Even in her solmness she could not help but chuckle at Nelso. " Oooooo." Elmaryia said to the farm hand.

Though she did hope that the lost souls did move on, and that they found peace. That was the least that the gods could do for the victims. " The greatest motivation for human kindness is tragedy. With out evil, pain or sorrow their would not be comfort, joy or kindness. I am fine Straylor. I just am remembering."

Still the visions haunted her. Their was so much panic and fear and sorrow it enveloped you like a cloak. Though through the ashes the city like the phenoix be reborn again.

Still their were soldiers about and she was looking for the clan member, Colin.
" We need to find Colin Fianna he is in charge of deeds and the land for buisnesses."

Colin was not at his normal post today. He was given orders to walk the city and do a report on the damage, as of yet there had not been one. He was getting rather depressed by the whole situation when he spotted a group of farmers accompied by a young male and female.

Colin being himself and wanting to make sure the city was still safe for the few remaining town folk and visitors stopped his potrol and walked into the path of the group of people.

"May I ask what your business in the town is? It looks like you quite a bit of equipment."

Upon seeing Colin she smiled, she doubted that he would remember her. He had probably seen countless faces offering aid materials to the city. " Sereal Colin. I am Elmaryia and this is Straylor and his farm hands." As she said this she pointed to Straylor and the other men. " I wish to start an Inn with a tavern in the city. Along with a friend who is still a citizen here. Tell me have you seen a sea elf by the name of Ilista? It seems that the city is progressing quite nicely since the fires. I would along with my companion here, wish to start a buisness in the city."

"Not at all", Straylor replied after Elma. She seemed to know the man, which was a good thing. Connections are essential when it came to starting up shoppe within any city. "What we have aren't equipment, and we certainly didn't bring much." He smiled at this and offered to reveal the contents of the cart. In truth, there was only travel supplies, a bit of items and adventure stuff that Straylor decided to bring along.

"Other than that, we come only with our hope of taking part in the revival of Archdoon's economy by starting a business here." Turning to Elma he motioned that she should continue if he interupted.

Colin looked at Elmaryia and then to Straylor and then the farmhands. He looked at the items and then turned to Elmaryia.

"I remember you, you helped out after the fire and now you and your friends wish to start a tavern. As we don't have one I do not see any reason why you should not be able to start one up. You and the others will have to build it yourselves. I may be able to send some men over for a few days to help out but there is no guarantee. Once the building is up I will come and inspect it to be safe for working and business. If you don't mind trying building the new tavern close to were the last one stood. That would be down this street and then take a left. As for your friend I don't recall seeing her. Here the deed to the land you will need it to start building." Turning to Starylor and the farm hands, "You guys take great care of this little Miss, she is very important around here and if she were to go missing people would get restless and want to do something about." Talking to everyone "Any questions, if not i must complete my rounds."

" Well the farm hands here are not apt builders . Is their anyone in the city that we could higher, to help with the building?" Elmaria asked Colin. Upon hearing his words spoken of her she smiled softly. The young woman did not know that she was important or that people noticed if she disappeared. Silently she waited for Straylor to ask any questions if he needed.

If he did not then she would proceed to find builders and look at the site of the former tavern, and her friend.

"You may find some men about town who need the money to feed families. We do what we can be soon the rations will not be enough. Pay all you wish, it is no mind to me. I will be in two brightenings to see what progress you have made. Have a good day all."

[Straylor Leonard]

"That is well", Straylor nodded as the man indicated that he needed to finish his rounds. The thought of hiring skilled men crossed Stray's mind as well, but his beloved more or less quelled that question. "We shall look around then", he thanked the officer before nodding to Elmaryia. "But I believe that speaking with the Aedile is in order? We will need to fill in the necessary applications and paperwork ..."

They would need to stop at the adeils office. After the conversation with Colin was finished she led Straylor and his group to the Aedile's office. Upon entering the portal she walked over to the desk. With a smile she took a free seat and sat across from the Aedile.

" Sereal my name is Elmaryia Grey and this here is my companion Straylor Leanoard. We are interested in building a tavern in the area of the former one that burned down. I trust that their is paperwork that we shall have to fill out before we begin building?"

It had been so long since she came to this place the night that the city was colored with a searing light, it had been interesting the people running and colored air she could not breath, the dancing lights beckoned and burned. It was a shame however, looking around the city now, taking in what the terrifying beauty left in its wake. Time could certainly pass.

The woman walked the street she sighed looking at the ground although she chose not to wear her uniform, the shoes were a good protection, and thankfully in the hiding spot on the harbor where she left them. They were confining, but protective considering the rubble.

Looking to the sky, the sea woman sighed. Now, what was she to do?

OoC: I don't know what's happening, but this post is to ensure that we are going to the Aedile to secure a deed Thanks, Lost and Soldier!

Following Elmaryia, Stray and the rest of the gang arrived in front of the makeshift building that was suppose to house some government officials after the Fire. Their intentions were made obvious soon enough. Arriving through the doors, Stray asked his farmhands to stay with twin mellan brothers and their cart while Elma and him proceeded into the structure.

Elmaryia spoke first and Stray merely smiled and provided the correct documents. "We have investments in order, I assure you", he said kindly before pulling up his riding pack and producing a series of banknotes. He didn't pull out the whole amount, of course, but allowed the aedile or whoever they were speaking to some kind of visual confirmation that their intentions were serious. "We were also hoping to find some help, workers hopefully, for our inn and possible suppliers?"
