The Search for Her Father Continues (Open)
Timestamp: 14th of Optia, in the Season of Summer, Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum, the Second Era of the Regency of Milo L'Evienne.
Walking through the gates, Gwyneth wasn't sure why she was drawn to Archadoon, just that she had a feeling that the person she was searching for would be found here. Looking around Gwyneth gasp at the destruction she saw all around her. Only once before had she seen this much destruction, that was in her home city of Imperia, when meteors had nearly destroied the entire city. Gwyneth had left Imperia while the meteors were still falling and even now wasn't even sure if her home had survived or not. As she continued down the main street of Archadoon, Gwyneth began to look for an inn to stay at while she was in the city searching for her father. While she continued to walk along the main street of Archadoon, Gwyneth kept the palm of her right hand upon the pommel of her scimitar, her eyes ever watchful of strangers, the memories of what had recently happened to her in Trysvale still fresh in her mind.

Up on the peak of a roof top stood a figure. A crouched figure hidden deep within the folds of a very white cloak. From the street one might mistake it as just a fancy statue, but a statue still standing after all that has happened? No, upon closer inspection one would see that there were two golden glowing orbs where eyes should be set within the hood. The figure was alive, and watching the street.
Links was bored. The dracon needed something to do, so he had picked up his old habit of steple chasing. First he would get up on a roof, like he was currently, then he would pick out a target, swing down and take somehting from them. Then he would jump back up onto the roofs and dash away, keeping his "friend" in sight. Of course, the dracon never kept what he took, that would just cause problems. So, now Links was sitting on a roof watching for a "friend."
A young woman suddenly entered the dracon's line of sight. At first he didn't take notice, but something about her drew his gaze back to her. She was very tense, handling her blade at her side. Don't do it. He said to himself, but he did it anyway. Dropping down as she walked by, Links slid into the crowd and worked his way until he was behind her. She was easy to pick out with her shock of red hair. With his cloak covering his identity and race, he reached out and tapped her on the shoulder. "Excuse me Miss. Are you alright?"

"You smell funny." Pooter happened to be standing just underfoot, and he happened to be in the middle of eating a pastry, which happened to be deliciously sticky. He was staring with his little eyes up at Links, chewing slowly. A little webbed hand drew up and curled into Gwyneth's pant leg, like a child seeking comfort from its mother. Still, he stared, and he chewed. Finally, he stuffed the last of the pastry into his cheek and raised his eyes to Gwyneth with a wide, sticky grin. "Don't be scared, lady." He wriggled a paw in his pocket, drew out a single crown, then bit little marks into it before dropping it into Gwyneth's shoe. "You have good luck now; no bad things can hurt you." Pooter's grin broadened even wider, then he spun about and scampered away on all fours, his stubby tail waving after him.

Feeling someone suddenly tap her on the shoulder Gwyneth's hand tightens around the pommel of her scimitar, before she slowly turns around to face the person behind her. Seeing the cloaked figure standing behind her made Gwyneth even more learly as she spoke she kept her eyes constantly on the look out for others. "Yes sir I'm alright. I presume your asking me that question because of the fact that I'm walking down the street with my hand on the pommel of my scimitar? I will tell you the reason for that, if you tell me why you wear a cloak that hides your identity."
Feeling something grap ahold of her pants leg Gwyneth looks down to see a cute male Lutran holding onto her pant leg. Seeing the Lutran looking up at her Gwyneth smiles back down at it. She can't help but laugh as he drops a crown into her shoe and tells her that she now has good luck and that no bad things can hurt her. "Thank you", she calls out as the Lutran scampers away.

The young man held a book in his hand on the annarian code, reading it, and not paying attention to much as he was wandering down the street. Weaving in and out of various people, minding his own business, he yawned a bit, and then brushed the hair out of his eyes as the breeze blew by him a little. It was obvious he was completely absorbed in the book he had been reading for unless something was done quickly by Gwyneth, or Links, he would find himself tripping a bit clumbsily over the lutran scurrying away. Vincent would then find himself face first on the ground, unable to comprehend what had happened, considering his mind was elsewhere when it did happen. "Ugh, i should really watch where I am going..." he said, as the lutran had knocked the young man over in it's scurrying. He picked up his book, and brushed himself off a little bit...

The cloaked head nodded. "Yes, I am askng because of that. one usually doesn't handle their weapon like that unless they are expecting trouble. And I wouldn't want a pretty lady like you walking into trouble. What kind of gentleman would I be if I let you do such a thing." Links chuckled and thought to himself. Gentleman? Since when did you become a gentleman? Quit lying to yourself and keep to the task at hand. He then took a deep breath. "As for my cloak, it is for my own protection as well as those around me. But if you must know why then..." He reached up and pulled back the hood to reveal the front of his dracon face. The light caught on his purple scales and made them dance and shimmer though the air. His golden eyes easily looked down at her in a friendly manner. A toothy grin flashed across his face before he pulled the hood back and covered he visage.
Suddenly a young male softskin entered the scene, tripping on the lutran that was now scurrying away. Links shook his head at the human before stepping forward to help him to his feet. "Serale good sir. You should really watch you step here. It can be quite dangerous if you don't." He laughed and patted the young man's back. "Wait, where are my manners? Allow me to introduce myself. I am Links Kha'Serith. How can I be of service?" This gentleman thing again? Well, whatever works, works. Might as well stick with it.

Gwyneth smiled as she saw the strangers face for the first time. "Sir you have nothing to fear from me. I have had a couple of friends in the past who were dracon's such as yourself. I know that many softskins fear and hate your kind, but I am not one of them. I have come to realize that the Gods put each one of us here on this planet for a reason, and that in their own due time they will let us know what that reason is." Her hand begining to hurt Gwyneth eased her grip a bit upon the pommel of her sword. "Now as for why I am walking through the city with my hand upon my sword. I have just come from Trysvale where I escaped from a group of slave traders. I only escaped because the medic of the group helped me and had he been caught it would have meant his death. If you wish to know more of what happened I can tell you."
Gwyneth just shakes her head as a young man walks towards herself and the dracon his nose stuck in a book and not taking notice of what is going on around him. When the young man trips over the Lutran who had just scurryied away from them, she walks over to him. "Serale, I hope your alright. You really shouldn't try to read and walk at the same time, after all the next time you fall you could either seriously hurt yourself or someone else. Oh yes where are my manners, my name is Gwyneth Ralcor and it is a pleasure to meet you."

Vincent blushed a little when both of them seemed to almost immediately come up to him. It was a bit unlike him to read a book while walking, as normally he sat in a bar, or some restaraunt to read, and think about things. Looking from the cloaked man, to the woman whom was uncloaked, he said, "Thanks, my name is Vincent Tind... I normally don't walk and read, but i'm trying to study for class, and just sitting around wasn't doing anything for me, so i had to try something new. Although, i'll also attempt to keep some form of an eye out for certain little furry creatures such as Lutrans..."
Grinning a bit, he creased the top corner of the page he was on, and closed the book, holding it down at his side. "As for service Links, I am in need of none at the time being," he replied to the question posed to him by the cloaked man, smiling politely. It was very mysterious as to how the man was cloaked, so as to not show any form of facial feature. But if that's how he wanted to be, Vincent wouldn't have a problem at all with it.

They both seem like nice people. Perhaps it would do me some good to be social. The dracon grunted to himself. Maybe he was a little to over protective of himself. Plenty of dracons walked the street, open with their race. But Links was of the Moraden mindset. Nothing could change that, so he would continue to live as he currently did, hiding in plain sight, ready for trouble. (and sometimes causing it)
"Very true Gwyneth, I have nothing to fear from you or from Vincent. But I would rather play it safe. Now as for your story. Yes I would like to hear it, but probably not in the middle of the street. We should go to an inn or tavern so we can sit down." A small dim flash came from his hood as the dracon smiled. "Besides, I think I need a drink right about now. Would you care to join us Vincent? You can read as we go. We won't let you fall too many times." Links laughed and clapped the softskin's back heartily. He then set off toward down the street toward the nearest pub which happened to be fairly near.
The tavern was much like any other tavern in the city. Slightly smokey, neat and cozy, and few people since it was the middle of the day. Links walked in and signaled to the barkeeper, then picked out a table near the middle of the room. As they sat down a young waitress, barely sixteen, came to take their orders. "I'll pay for your drinks. Bring me an ale and whatever they want." Hopefully this would set up a good mood for conversation. "So Gwyneth, what is this about slave traders?"

"I can understand your wanting to play it safe Links where us softskins are concerned. I agree that we should go to a tavern before I tell my story. I believe I could use a drink myself right about now." As Links moved towards a tavern Gwyneth followed close behind him. After Links entered the tavern Gwyneth entered and quickly found a seat at the table making sure her back was away from the door. As the waitress neared their table Gwyneth smiled at her, "Serale miss, I'll have a glass of Sylvan White Wine please."
Gwyneth waits until the waitress has moved back towards the bar before she begins to tell her story. "Before I came here to Archadoon, I was went to Trysvale because I had heard a rumor that my father was there. When I arrived in the city I heard the sound of a gurgle which was quickly followed by a thump and a muffled cry. Well instead of doing like everyone else was and ignoring it I went into the alley where the sounds came from to investigate. I found a male Sylrosian elf with a dagger to the throat of a richly dressed young women. Along with the elf were two Dwarves who were going through the pants pockets of a richly dressed male. I know I should've walked away at that point but I just couldn't. Instead I tried to rescue the young lady, and ended up getting her killed and me taken prisoner. I was knocked unconscious and taken to a building somewhere inside the city of Trysvale. While there I was beaten and had acid brushed across my forarms. The Sylrosian elf told me that he was going to sell me into slavery because I caused him to lose money on the female and male he ended up killing. It was only with the help of his human male healear that I was able to escape. Once I escaped I made my way here to Archadoon to begin to search for my father once again."

Vincent smiled as Links patted him on the back, and then said, "I wouldn't mind heading to a tavern to listen to her story, and see what it's all about..." He then closed the book, and turned tail to follow the others towards a local Tavern. Step by step, he entered, and then sat down. He wasn't very thirsty, so he didn't say anything to the waitress about getting anything to drink. Setting his book on the table, he didn't open it, but instead listened to what Gwyneth was saying.
It was a horrible story about how she was searching for her father, and ended up getting a woman killed on accident by trying to help, and then captured. If that ever happened to him, he didn't know what he would do. It was scary that there were people like that out in the world or Telath, and he didn't want to know much about them, other than to put them away behind a cell for their crimes. The poor woman was now frightened beyond belief, and the young man was unsure of how to help.
"That's some story... i'm sorry that they did that to you... do you really think that they could have followed you here though? How far away is Trysvale?" he asked, curious, and also to gather information that he might be able to use to help her out. "Also... do you think your father is here? Or somewhere in Trysvale? You never really had much of a chance to look there for him... especially after getting captured like that..."

Gonli was hungry. Then again, the Dwarf was always hungry. Thick fingers pulled stringy black hair from his eyes and his black beard was braided into intricate knots. Despite living in the wilderness as a Hermit, he still had the pride of his people. The Mountain Man sighed as his thick belly rumbled, ready to go another night without food. Gonli turned a corner and was heading for the gate to make his camp when he bumped square into the back of a Human girl. Well, mostly her posterior. “Jalat’s balls, woman!” he bellowed, his hands coming up to settle on her rump to push her away. It was with a start he noticed where his hands were and yanked them away, stepping back and crossing thick arms over a barrel chest.
“Ye gots nerve, standin’ there an’ takin’ up an entire walkway with yer hind end!” he growled. “Didn’t yer parents give ye any manners?” The Dwarf walked closer, and Gwyn and her companions found themselves wishing he wouldn’t. Years of living alone in the wilderness, along with a racial aversion to water, had caused the Dwarf to become rather ripe. The smell was enough to make everyone’s eyes water as he got closer, demanding an explanation.

Gwyneth got a look of shock on her face as she felt someone put their hands upon her posterior. Whirling around Gwyn was ready to slap the offender across the face, but she came up short when she saw that it was a dwarf. The look of shock was quickly replaced by one of fear and horror, for Gwyneth was certain this was on of Fenton's men come to take her back to him. Gwyneth's body began to shake slightly in fear as she tightened her grip on the hilt of her scimitar even more.
" What do you mean I've got some nerve standing here? Perhaps you should watch where your going and walk around people who are standing on a public walkway talking. Now why don't you cut the charade Mr. Dwarf, we both know who you work for and why you just happened to run into me. I will kill you before I ever let you take me back to Fenton to be sold into slavery. So why don't you just go back to Trysvale and Fenton and let him know that anyone he sends after me will end up being run through by one of the three swords I carry on my person at all times."
When the young waitress returned with her drink, Gwyneth took out the proper amount of currency and handed it over to the waitress. Picking up the glass of wine Gwyn took a drink as she listened to what Vincent had to say. "I trully don't know if they did or didn't follow me here from Trysvale, nor do I have any idea how far Trysvale trully is from Archadoon. All I know is that I walked for a very long time, and always kept one eye looking over my shoulder to make sure noone was following me. I wish I did know for certain that my father was here in Archadoon but I don't. I only came here after here some talk about an elf who looked like him being spotted here. Thou to be quite honest he could have already left here and moved onto another city, or he could still be in Trysvale. All I know is that I will not give up searching for him until I find him. If you wish to know why I'm searching so hard for my father, or anything else about me for that matter Vincent, please feel free to ask for I have nothing to hide."

Vincent was extremely surprised by the dwarves rudeness, and almost smacked the little man himself. It was not everyday that some creature as rude as that showed its face around a woman... or maybe it was. But it doesn't matter, for the woman managed to take care of it herself. It was amazing how strong she was, although, she still seemed a bit shaken up about her father being missing, as well being chased from Trysvale. "I think it would be wise to hear the entire story... such as why you are searching so hard for your father? Although, I could gather a guess, seeing as how if my father was missing, and men were after me, i'd be looking for him as hard as you might be..." he said, and then looked towards her, then back to the short dwarve that was standing there...

Listening to the slight commotion at the front of the tavern, Runedas watched and sipped on a small mug of beer. "This human looking for her father.....she's been through quite a bit of trouble." He looked at her for a while, thinking about his deceased family. Trying to find a family member, and not having one to look for at all were two completely different things. The young dracon couldn't help but feel slightly sorry for her. Her 'partners' seemed to feel the same way he did. " Being tracked down for someone while trying to track someone yourself.......sounds pretty tough. Still.....If my parents were still alive, I would do anything to find them." An aged waitress walked by and asked if he needed anything. Half paying attention, he shook his head and continued to eavesdrop on the table. Runedas knew that he shouldn't be listening to this conversation, as none of it was his business. It was only because of her concern to find her father that she unknowingly had his attention.
The conversation started to die down between them as the half-human asked if there were anymore questions. He figured that this would be the perfect time to send his regards. Standing up from his table, he approached them. " Hi. I'm sorry to bother you all, as you seem to be talking about something very important. I happened to overhear your conversation and I hope you find your father. If I were you, I would stop at nothing to find him." He looked at the rest of the table, and then back at her once again. "And I wouldn't let anything stop me from finding him either."
