Seth Lavryl is an upstanding Citizen
Little by Little and Bit by Bit (Open)

Fifth Brightening of the Second Cycle,
The Month of Optia, Summer Era XIV Post Fractum

A low whistle.

“Ajax!”

Seth scanned the edges of the ruined city, the crumbling stone buildings and ashen houses eerily quiet as silence settled over the area. They were coming from the southern end, not necessarily on the right side of the city, and a lot of what remained was all the way nestled on the opposite end. Seth didn’t feel like making the looping circuit around the old stone walls and ashen heaps of what had formerly been stone and wooden constructions. Whatever had started this fire had done a damn well job of burning the place to Aerternia and back. Unnaturally dark blue orbs studied the parapets of the crumbling stone walls, the odd few stone buildings that remained standing.

A dog bark turned his head sharply to the right.

His eyes softened a bit as Ajax came running back, the small pup a little more than three month’s old now and getting larger and larger with each passing brightening. Ajax was an Allerian Hunter, much like Seth himself, and had a nice clean coat of dark brown and black fur melted helter-skelter over him. Seth knelt down and rubbed the dogs head, whispering quietly as he scratched him behind the ears.

His eyes momentarily flicked back to the city, studying the large opening gap within the stone wall, presumably where the creatures had gotten in.

The human had read a copy of the Herald back in Trysvale and had spent a good deal of time debating about whether or not he should offer his assistance. He hadn’t entirely made up his mind until the night thereof, when he figured any sort of help he had to give was better than nothing. He was a good shot with the bow – a local game hunter for the farmers in the Meadowlands – and figured a hunting excursion would be a worthy challenge. He’d read of the creatures moving into the city, and had skimmed over the part of talking to some marshal or another about collecting the bounties, but truth of the matter was, Ajax and he were on the wrong side of the city, and Seth wasn’t about to waste a good afternoon’s light just so he could talk to some elderly wizened old man about keeping a safe head.

Seth knew how to look out for himself. He’d been around for a while, after all.

Slinging his bow off his shoulder, Seth ran a rough palm over the smooth composite material before glancing down at his canine companion and offering a nod of reassurance. “Better now than never, huh boy?” the rhetorical question lingered for a moment, before Seth ran a hand through his dark toffee brown hair and started forward.

He’d tell Ajax to wait and scale the rubble up the side of the wall to get a good eye on the situation, try and set up a vantage point, and see about a proper plan before going further into the ruins.

Vincent Tind is an upstanding Citizen
Taking a daily jog to keep in shape, as the young man had done since he was ever so little, he made his rounds in this new city, attempting to to get lost. It had only been a few brightenings since he had came to archadoon, and in betwee rebuilding the city, as well as taking his law classes, he only had a few chances to get out and see the rest of the city. Making his way around one of the ruined buildings, he saw a man there with his dog.

Not knowing what to do, or think, he just kept jogging a for a little while, till he noticed the man seemed to be heading towards the ruins. Why would he be heading into the ruins of the fire? thought Vincent, and then one other thought came to mind. Maybe he's a burgler, looking for goodies left behind by the public after they abandoned their ruined homes. Of course, with as wild as the raging fires had been, the young man doubted that they had any thing left worth taking. Slowing down a bit, he looked towards the person, and then to the dog, and just stood there for a little bit gazing at him, trying to make some sense as to what he might be doing there...

OOC: I hope you don't mind if I join.

"Are you just going to stand there and watch?" A booming voice question from behind they young jogger. "If you have stopped you interserst must have been peeked why don't we see what the feller and his dog is up to." The mysterious man suggested as he put a strong firm hand on the jogger shoulder. The hand fell upon his shoulder the jogger nearly collapsed from the unexpected weight but managed to keep standing.

Removing the hand form the joggers shoulder the unknown man walked off toward the dog and his owner. He steps were long. His shoulders were help back and broad. From a glance he looked to be 6 feet 6 inches. He wore big black think dragon leather boots. His pants and shirt were nothing to special, in fact, they appeared to be commoners clothing but they were made of the finest material. A man of his build needed special made clothing. He was tall but also built. The way he walked just gave you a suggest of his strength and muscle mass.

Finally reaching a close enough distance he called the young adventure a warm felt hello, this was only to alert him of his presence. He may be tall and big but he could hide and sneak up on any he so chose. "What brings you the ruins?"

Seth and Ajax walked stealthily across the side of the ruins, through the small breach before turning left and standing silently still as he scaled the height of the crumbled ruined wall the conflagration must have burnt and exposed. The ashy remains of the former city lurked dangerously astray in front of him, like a map unrolled and unraveled, plenty of opportunity lurking to claim the heads of the beasts whose bounties had been posted up in the Herald.

Though it was not to be.

Not right away, at least.

Looking down sharply at the sudden stir of movement and the two interlopers fast approaching, Seth’s hand wrapped the leather leash he was holding twice around his palm before telling Ajax to sit. The Allerian Hunter did so obediently, and Seth glanced down reprovingly at the two persons for a moment before considering the insipid question. “I’m lookin’ to claim some of the bounties on the wild beasts and the like hauntin’ the old part of your city,” he spoke, his hand digging into his pocket and removing a crumbled torn off roll of parchment. It was the article that had been posted in the Herald. He tossed it down to the men, hoping one of them would catch it and get a better idea what he was doing about this part of town.

If it could be called a town anymore, that is.

OOC: Sorry for being late on this post...

IC: It was quite strange that the man appeared next to him as he was watching the other. A bit startled, he looked up towards the larger man next to him, and then nodded. Following him, he made his way through the entrances of the ruins, to greet the other man. It wasn't every day that he went exploring, and it didn't quite matter to him what exactly they did, so long as it was interesting. The man explained that he was looking for bounty on wild beasts, and when he tossed the herald article, Vincent caught it, and opened it to read it briefly.

He wasn't entirely sure how he might be able to help look for the beasts, other than run and hide if one managed to spot him. Not having any fighting skills, or any knowledge of how to fight, made him a pretty vulnerable target. Probably the only thing he had going for him was the fact he could run fairly quick. "Interesting, how dangerous do you think these wild beasts are? Are we talking wolves? or monsters that just randomly appeared after the fire?" he asked, hoping to get some better insight on what they might end up being up against...

"The claims you say. Well it may be dangerous. You going alone?" The man asked, giving a sideways glance at the dog. "What happens when you come across an undead, do you know how to defeat it?" Holding out his left hand the man offered it for a shaking "The name is Frugetor, Frug for short. I wish to kill some things in the ruins as well, mind if I tag along." Frug smiled at the young man and awaited his decision.

He looked towards the men, and then finally said after thinking about his adventures in the Catacombs of Death. "Hunting is not for me, I think i'll be on my way now, but thanks for the offer!" he said, and then turned around to continue on his morning jog.

OOC: Sorry guys, i'm pulling out of this thread. Don't want to lag anyone since my posting of Vincent might become slower now.
