[Location,Archadoon Library] Places to be, Things to learn (Open)
TS: Brightening 10, Month of Optia, Season Summer, Era II, Era XIV
Runedas yawned as he stretched his arms and wings while walking down the great streets of Archadoon. He no longer looked in awe at all the buildings and people within the city. Actually, it almost started to look like he knew where he was going and exactly how to get there. His main goal today was to do a little research at the local library. He had passed it when her first came into town, only because he didn't know what it was. This building was very hard to miss, as it sat in the middle of the city and was one of the biggest buildings around. As he walked up the marble stone steps, he started to catch glimpses of the eagle statues standing on both sides of the black iron gates. Once at the top of the steps, Runedas looked at both of the bird statues for a while before continuing into the library.
There were huge oaken banded doors wide open, offering passage to anyone that wanted to walk in. Almost tired from the entire walk to the front entrance, he took a minute to catch a little breath. Once his eyes adjusted to his dimmer surroundings, he proceeded to check in at the front desk. He then walked up to another desk and there he talked to a young, beautiful human woman. " This is a member of the library staff, no doubt." Runedas thought as he began to ask her a question. " Excuse me, where might I find information on dracons and dragons?" Without even looking up, She pointed in the direction of the books. Figuring that she was somewhat busy, he bowed slightly and continued on in the direction she pointed in.
For a library, it was pretty busy inside. All around there were people looking for books, librarians helping others find scrolls they were seeking, and even others pushing large carts full of books. Everywhere around him some one had some kind of reading material. It almost made him feel out of place. Forgetting that thought, he started to search the shelves, first starting with information on dracons. To his surprise, most of the information was stuff that he did not know. "Obviously, I know only the basics of my race....." He thought as he continued to read. Candlemark after candlemark passed, and yet Runedas was still in one spot, reading from that one book. Finally, after sighing, he closed the book and put it back where he found it. As he was reaching up to put the book back on the shelf, a large, heavy looking book fell to the floor. He looked around for a moment, hoping that no one heard the loud crash. As he picked it up, he looked at the cover. It felt like the book itself were made out of scales, and as he rubbed his hands over it, he started to read the title. "This book is on dragons." Without hesitating, he open the book and began to read. "This should be able to tell me somethings my parents did not know about that black dragon."
It felt like he was in that one area, reading that one book for days. He was not to be satisfied with himself until he knew everything he could out of this book. "Breathing fire they say? Dragons can still do this? Hmmmm....." As if possessed, he continued down to the last paragraph on the last page. This was what he was expecting, as dragons were said to be rare. Good dragons even more rare. How could he go about learning the ablility they have, especially if talking to one would definitely mean the end of his life? " There must be something I can do in order to talk to one. Surely there is some gold dragon out there that might point me in the right direction. I am a twisted being to them, and therefore.......this might be way harder than I thought." Runedas placed the book back on the shelf and headed toward the exit.
