Other Pressing Matters (GM Please)
The Month of Imperos, Brighitening 1 in the Season of Autumn, Era II of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIV Post Fractum
After having visited the orphanage, Kalan wasted no time. He had come to Archadoon for two reasons. And, as the sky began to grow dim signaling the beginning of that night the Jagara knew he didn't have time to waste.
There were creatures hindering the efforts to rebuild the city of Archadoon in the general vicinity of the ruins . . . at least that's what the Herald had reported. There had been mention of a reward. What type of reward he wasn't sure, but anything promising a reward was worth investigating. Besides, where there were ruins there were usually valuables of some sort. Even if he wasn't able to claim the reward there was always the opportunity to line his own pockets.
With these thoughts in mind, Kalan made his way to the city's ruins. The sight before him would have been shocking . . . maybe even depressing if he hadn't expected it. Looking around at the burnt buildings and taking in the smell of charred flesh made Kalan sigh. There was no time to waste; Kalan reached to his right boot and withdrew a dagger in his right hand. With his left hand, he pulled the hood of his cloak away from his head so it wouldn't distract him. With these things done, Kalan began to move through the remains of the disaster doing his best to remain as quiet as possible. If there was a threat, he wanted to sneak up on whatever it was instead of the other way around.

OOC: Serale Kalan, I will be your moderator. I hope you enjoy the ride.
IC: As you enter the ruins of Archadoon a sudden chill runs up your spine, as you take note to the fact that the air here seems much colder then in the rest of the city. Walking down the street in front of the ruins you notice that their are no sounds to be heard, and no birds in the air or small creatures scurrying about on the ground. Looking around you see building after building burned nearly to the ground. In the center of the block you see a large stone building that is missing it's roof. What else might be destroied on the building your not able to tell from the distance you are away from it.

As Kalan made his way through the burnt portion of the city, he gathered as much information as he could. The unnatural silence of the area suggested that there was a serious threat that needed to be dealt with. Kalan noticed the chill in the air, and stopped moving momentarily. Although it was autumn, the slight nip that the air had wasn't characteristic of the season as far as the Jagara could tell.
As he began moving towards the center of the block again, Kalan made sure to carefully place his feet to make as little sound as possible. He tightened the grip on his dagger, and raised his left hand to what he considered his own "ready" position. If the need to react quickly suddenly presented itself, Kalan certainly would be ready.
Moving down the street was slow going. Trying to remain stealthy slowed him down considerably, but Kalan refused to allow his attention to be completely focused on one area; instead he was constantly scanning his surroundings before bringing his attention back to the stone building. That building, for some reason, had become his destination and he was moving closer and closer with every passing moment.

As the young Jagara makes his way down the street gathering information, he sees that most of the burnt down buildings used to be shops in one form or another. On one shop you are able to read it's sign which reads The Crooked Dragon Specialty Store. At another shop you can only read part of the sign as the rest has been burnt. That sign reads Elynnari's World, the rest is missing thou. You also notice that as you move along some of the shadows seem to be following you towards the large temple like building.
The closer you get to the large temple like building in the center of the block, the more moving shadows you take note of along with other strange noises. The noises sound like bone scraping against bone, and metal clanking against metal. When your about 20 yards from the steps leading up to the entrance to the building you hear a high pitched scream come from the inside of the building.

As he moved closer and closer to the temple like building in the center of the ruined area of the city, Kalan took notice that the shadows seemed to be moving along with him. It gave the Jagara the feeling that he was being watched. That feeling along with the appearance of a lifeless portion of the city made the fur on the back of his neck stand on end. Kalan slowed his movement until he was barely moving forward at all. He was faced with a dilemma now, and needed to decide what course of action to take next.
The Jagara's mind began racing through various scenarios. He was walking towards the building in the middle of the wreckage and the shadows seemed to follow him. Kalan couldn't figure out any benefit of going directly into the building. If there was indeed something sinister at work here, it would pay to make sure he didn't have anybody or anything following him into the building he was so eager to investigate.
With his mind made up, Kalan looked to his left and his right trying to size up which direction to go. He couldn't assess how many shadows there seemed to be in either direction. In the end, he decided to carefully make his way towards The Crooked Dragon Specialty Store to investigate the shadows in that area. While he had made up his mind, he kept his ears open for any sounds that might be moving closer to him from any direction other than his front.
