Gnomes in the Night(Adventure-Open to All)
The sun was setting and it was beginning to get dark in the land of Arios. The moon full and shining brightly in the sky and the sun was almost off the horizon. The trees swayed in the breeze while and owl hooted, coming to life after his deep sleep. A wolf howled from deep in the forest. Soon after another one answered. The day creatures were setting in, while the night creatures were just waking and coming to life. Shops were closing and people were heading home. The torches were lite as people walked to the taverns and roamed the streets.
Then the most curious thing happened. A small gnome appeared coming out of the forest towards town. He was running as fast as he could, but wasn’t coming to fast due to his small legs. The small gnome had on over sized robes that were many times to big for him. He had rather large ears and eyes. They looked odd for his size. He had a hairy head and had long arms that looked odd on a body of his size. He had a distressed look on his face, like something was wrong.
He didn’t look to know where he was going. He seemed to just be wandering about. This was odd for a gnome to be wandering alone, but people might have seen odder. The little gnome stopped towards the center of town. He looked around to see if anybody had seen him enter the town. He bent back his head and yelled in a high pitched squeak, “Peas hep I.” It looked like it took a great deal of energy for the little gnome to make a noise that was not even above a murmur. The murmur might not have been heard by anyone, but it was so high pitched that some one might be able to hear it if they were paying attention. The little gnome yelled again in the same high pitched squeak, “Peas, I be pa’in mo’ey, peas.”

Thokk had just travelled many miles, trying to find a new place to call his home. He hadnt been in town for long now, just looking for prime real estate. He walked around down town, looking around at the various businesses that were closing for the night as the day turned to dusk.
The most happenning places were the taverns. The torches were lit and people were walking home. Everything was quite except a noise that sounded like a person yelling. Thokk searched for the sound, walking around corners and down a street he found a gnome standing in the middle of the street. Thokk walked up and took a knee next to the gnome. "Slow Down, Slow Down, whats wrong little one?" he said as placed his hand on the gnomes shoulder.

Faerie wings danced like the fires of the torches themselves as they bore down on the streets of the darkened, yet not silenced city of Arios. Their rider -- and operator -- was none other than Tiarela Iceglitter... A fae becoming some what of a regular amongst the island, it seemed. She paused, looking at the big person and the little gnome, which surely couldn't have been more than a foot or so taller than she was.. and tightened her lips.
Shifting her little staff around in her hand, the little faerie fluttered about, and wheeled around them, pausing over the big one and listening in on the conversation. Silly big person, what was he doing? Scaring the gnome half to death, that was it!
"Hey big person!" She piped up, "Give the kid some breathing room, you're gonna scare him to Jalat himself!"
Big people. How Tiareal despised big people. She shook her head at Thokk and readied her staff, ready to bash this guy's hands off the little one if necessary. The fae didn't like when other fae, or the like at least, were threatened. This gnome was the close enough to her size, and therefore, close enough to her kin... For the moment, anyways. Any little guy getting picked on by a bigger snob of a person was good enough to be defended by the fae for Tiarela! She would not make the mistake of letting a little gnome get himself knocked around by some burly incompetant human.
Blue eyes looked at them both curiously.. First at the squeaky little gnome who looked distressed and then at the shady (to Tiarela at least) big person who was putting a hand on his shoulder. She didn't know about this gnome guy, but that would've made Tiarela so-oo uncomfortable! No one touches Tiarela Iceglitter, they don't!..
So she, being a simplistic fae on impluses, believed this would also apply to the little gnome aswell. He wouldn't like that, and she was ready to bash Mister Big Person here with her metal-capped staff until he let go.. if need be.
But Faes did not like weaponry, and preferred arcana and trickery over physical strength.. With good reason too, seeing they kind of were lacking in that department.
But that wasn't going to stop Tiarela, it wasn't. If she needed to wrap a staff on Thokk's knuckles, she most certainly would.. The easy misconceptions that can happen when one jumps to conclusions about untrustworthy big people and their hidden agendas.. Even if they in truth, were trying to be helpful and didn't deserve such assumptions.
Oh well, these things happened -- especially when Tiarela Iceglitter was on the scene.

Thokk removed his hand from the gnomes shoulder and glanced an eye towards the fae. He then looked back to the gnome and said "Dont worry i wont hurt you". He turned back to the fae and said "Dont worry i wasnt going to hurt him, i heard him yelling for help and i couldnt just leave him, dont worry i wont harm either of you, i just want to help"
Knowing the disadvantage that the fae and gnome were at with their size, he started to realize that he probably frightened them fairly good. "Im really sorry if i scared either of you"

The little gnome looked up at the human who approached him. He looked rather tall, which may have been because he was so short. Ragar was scared that the human was going to hurt him. His hand shot to his giant robe. He fumbled around and finally pulled out a dagger. The blade looked rather large on the gnome. For the size of the gnome, the blade looked to be that of a long sword. He didn't strike at the human, but had his dagger ready.
Then the fae approached and stood up to the human, giving Ragar great respect for the fae. He watched there bickering and finally spoke up when both of them had put in there comments. "I bes nee'in som helps. Mes kitta is stuck ins a tee. Peas hep I. I bes pa'in 200 crows ta zee persan whos be hepin mes." The little gnome put on a poor baby face that would be hard to turn down.

Thokk looked around searching for where this cat may be. Not being able to find any sign of it he turned to the gnome and said "I will help you little one dont worry, show me where it is. You take me there and ill help you". He said in a quiet voice so not to scare the gnome any more than he was already scared.
Thokk figured this would be a good way to help a person in need and make a few dollars as well. Thokk really didnt care alot about the money but was happy that he may be able to help. This brought a smile to his face.

OOC I think I've waited long enough. If anyone wants to join just PM me.
IC The little gnome was glad to hear that someone would finally help him. He ignored the Fae who hadn't said anything in a while. He looked at the human and finally decided that he wasn't going to get hurt by him. He slipped his dagger into his robes. It disappeared in the mass of cloth.
The gnome started running toward the forest saying, "Hurrsy, Hurrsy, dis ways. Hurrsy, dis ways." He looked back to see if the human was following. He was eager to save his cat. It was his only friend. A friend in danger and the gnome would do anything to save it.
The forest loomed ahead. Looking dark as ever. The moon light would provide a little light for the travelers to see, but it would still be dark. The gnome ran into the forest without hesitation. He seemed to know where he was going and stopped for nothing. It would be easy to follow the gnome because even though he was running, his short legs couldn't carry him fast. In the forest it would be harder though because he could go under logs and bushs. It would be hard to track him so the human would have to stay sharp and watch.

The gnome began to ran away from town. Surprised Thokk fell behind. He quickly sprinted after the gnome catching him fairly easy, hoping that he could help.
Thokk ran next to the gnome for a few minutes until, they entered the forest. The gnome made his way easily under logs and through the bush, but Thokk fell behind. Between the obstacles in his way, and the darkness, following the gnome was definately a challenge but so far he was doing his best to keep up.

OoC: Apologies, RL sucks the proverbial potato sometimes. Hoping when you said PM ya, you weren't excluding me and I can still tag along.. If not heh, holler at me in a PM.
They took off, confusing the little faerie very much. She gave it all a peculiar look and thinned her already miniscule lips at the situation. But, before she knew it, this big person that had apologized for scaring her (Tiarela be afraid of a big person!? Never!) and had ran off after the little Gnome that needed to go to Grammar School and learn commonspeak properly.
Though, like she was one to talk. The Faerie that wasn't fluent in either language now.. It was rather annoying. She could relate.
"Scare me," She finally piped up, "Ha! What a laughable joke." They seemed to have began off towards this 'Kitta' that was stuck in some tree now though, and as they did so, Tiarela hollered, "Hey! Wait up!"
Tiarela Iceglitter sent her wings a flitter and tore off after them, thankful for her size and little weight at the moment.. Hopefully she could keep up and see what exactly was going on. This Gnome's "cat' had gotten caught in a tree, had it? Well a big person would need the wit of a Faerie in this matter, he would. It would be in Thokk's favor for someone such as Tiarela to tag along.
Where the forest and underbrush presented a challenge for the large, bumbling man and his inadequate legs, it only provided objects to be wary of for the Fae. She was small, smaller than the Gnome even, and could easily bypass objects and probably keep up with, if not keep ahead of the human. It was a very good thing, being this small. Sure, it presented a few hinderances other places, but it was not like the fae to look at their faults.. They instead focused on strengths. Tiarela Iceglitter made up for her physical weakness with her mental powress and her obstinate nature. No human, elf, or otherwise was going to get ahold of her and overcome this little faerie, no sir! She gave a small hmph and focused on keeping the gnome and human in her sights as the beautiful wings that she bore on her back propelled her ever forward.

OOC Your fine, you just hadn't posted in three days so I continued the thread.
IC Leading the human and the fae ,which he didn't know about, deeper into the forest. Winding his way through the brush to get to his beloved kitty. He finally stopped behind a big thorn bush. He turned to the human and pointed. He squeaked in a whisper, " You sees, dar mes kitta."
If one looked to where to gnome's fatty finger was pointing they would see a giant cat sitting in the limbs of a tree about twenty feet off the ground. The cat was the size of a bobcat and had sharp fangs coming out of his mouth. The fangs were six inches long each and that was only what was showing. The cat was hissing at something.
If one focused there attention towards the trunk of the tree, they would see three wolves staring at the giant cat. They were obviously hunting the cat and for some reason the cat didn't do anything about it. Even though it could have easily taken on six wolves single handed.
The little gnome looked to almost be in tears at the site. He was murmuring something to himself that none would be able to understand. He then looked to the human and said whispered again, " Peas, sirs. Peas savs me kitta." With that the gnome sprang up and charge the wolves. Crashing through the thron bush. He was yelling something, but none of it made sense. He just kept running at the wolves.
The wolves looked at the noise and saw easier pray. deciding to take it instead of the "cat". They circled around the gnome, surrounding him. The gnome seeing this stopped in his tracks. Whispering, " Nic doggers, nic doggers." Then screaming at the top of its lungs. " AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" If something didn't happen fast, the gnome would die.
OOC Just starting to get good.

Thokk had looked for a way to ge the cat down upon seeing it. But once they seen the wolves everything changed. Thokk's immediate reaction was to grab his blackened greatsword.
Thokk assessed the area trying to find something that would help them, but seeing nothing he sprang his body towards one of the wolves. He ran his shoulder into the wolf's ribs hoping to knock it down and stun it enough to deal with the other two wolves. If not maybe his plan wasnt very well thought out, either way he had definately hoped this would work.

Tiarela sat still in the air for a moment, wondering exactly what to do. There were wolves at the base of a giant tree, with a huge cat sitting in it, and they didn't look friendly. This human was charging them in attack, and the Gnome was going kamakazi on them aswell. However, being a Faerie, this would be slightly more difficult for Tiarela -- she was not a strong little thing by any account.
However.. she was fast.
Formulating a plan, Tiarela darted towards the tree trunk, taking in the height from the snapping of the wolves at it's base to the cat in the tops of the tree. The cat was hissing, she heard, as she neared the tree... And it's fangs were basically more than half of Tiarela's height. This was not a settling realization.
Hovering around the tree trunk, Tiarela looked down at the wolves that might not have been distracted by the onslaught of Thokk and the rampaging little gnome. Taking up courage in herself, and keeping far enough away from this crazy looking cat's reach, aswell as the wolves' as best she could, the little faerie hollered,
"Hey Furball! Up here!" proceeded to put her thumbs to her ears, wiggle her fingers and blow a big rasberry sound at them while hovering in the air.
What did the little one hope to accomplish by this? Well, she was hoping to help create a good enough distraction for the human and the gnome that wanted his 'kitta' to get down out of the tree. It was not some hidden fact that wolves weren't bad fighters for animals, and not too shabby in the speed departments either. They could probably dodge the two, but hopefully with Tiarela's interjections, doing what a fae is always good at doing, Thokk and the little gnome would be able to take them down with ease and get to the 'kitta'... Whom, by the way, Tiarela was becoming increasingly fearful of by the minute. Hissing cats with fangs half her height weren't things that set Tiarela at ease, after all.

The gnome was terrified of the wolves and saw no place to go. He looked behind him and saw his human friend attempting to take out one of the wolves. The gnome seeing his opportunity to escape ran towards the human. Hoping that he would be able to slip through and hide in the bushes.
Thokk's attack was successful for the most part. The wolf saw him coming a little to late and lunged to the right. Slashing with its clawed paws. Thokk crashed into the wolf and inflicted pain on the beast. His shoulder hit the last three ribs and cracked them. A sickening crunch sounded and the wolf yelped. Thokk landed on top of the wolf and caused a great deal of more pain to the beast. It would have a hard time defending itself and would be no problem for the human later. However, the wolf's slashing paw managed to strike Thokk on his left shoulder. Cutting deep into his flesh and drawing blood. The pain would have slowed Thokk down, but the adrenaline would help mask the pain.
One of the other two wolves was drawn away from the fight by Tiarela's yelling. The Faes plan worked in drawing at least one wolf away, but for how long no one would know. The wolf turned and tried to reach Tiarela by jumping up the tree, but the Fae was still out of range by some distance. The giant cat also tried to bat at the Fae. Finding it interesting and thinking it was a play thing of some sort. Leaning out to try to reach the "toy", the cat fell from its high perch. Landing on the ground with a thud. The cat got up and shook its head, still trying to figure out what had happened.
The two wolves that were uninjured stopped what they were doing and surrounded the cat. Moving in closer, they snapped they jaws at there prey. Striking fear into the cats mind. The cat crouched down and prepared to die. Either the human, the gnome, or the fae needed to do something soon, or the cat would do just that, die.

Thokk recovered himself from the ground, he was laying ontop of the wolf, he managed to get up. As he got up he felt the sting of the wound on his shoulder. Clutching his shoulder he remember what had happenned and quickly shook off the pain as the other two wolf's came into sight.
Remembering that he had attacked the wolf he knew his sword was on the ground. He looked quickly to his other companions. The gnome was in the trees, hopefully looking for a moment to strike but Thokk was unsure, and the Fae had done a good job with her distraction but he knew that it wouldnt last forever and he didnt want to see anyone get hurt so he bent down and grabbed his sword.
Clutching the sword in both his hands, he knew he hadnt the time to think of a way out of this, he had to attack now. As the wolves surrounded the cat he thought he may be able to go in and catch them of guard. Running into battle he dove between the two wolves swinging with all his might towards the wolf to his right, hoping to hit it enough to kill it. But either way he hoped the other wolf would come to the others aid and leave the cat alone. This may prove the best oppurtunity to kill them both.
