The Ariosian Docks (Post here first)

A warm breeze makes it way along the shore as the boats arrive at the docks, one by one. Though the island is still fairly well known, it still has its fare of visitors stopping by. Weather they came looking for the island itself, or just needed a place to rest on their way to one of the other islands, the guests were still welcomed.

Mages, and those able to detect magic, realize quickly that there is an abundance of raw arcane flowing around the island. Enough to make, one who is unused to the free flow, quite uncomfortable. While those used to Arios quickly adjust. It is easy to tell the difference between the arrival of a native and a visitor, as the Ariosian is usually not the one hanging over the side of the boat.

What ever the reason to the arcane energies about the island, the seasick always seem to feel their energy come back to them after a few moments on solid ground. Visitors experience a cleansing of the senses as well as a feeling of total refreshment. Ariosians, of course, are already used to this feeling. In actuality, anyone who has spent a prolonged amount of time on the island feel drained and lethargic, when returning to the mainland. The drained feeling is not as strong as the revitalization effect, when expected, and seems to be a side effect of the massive flows of raw energy.

For this reason, Arios has become a good place for healing. Between the forest, full of undiscovered cures and remedies, and the flows of energy, it is an ideal place to relax and be made whole again.

Unlike most of the places in arios, there are no Armor-clad soldiers to check for Imperial Visas, no hawk eyed archers ready to fill suspicious folk with arrows. Just a lonely dock house off to the left, and a path way that leads through the depth of the forests to the distant city in the distance. There are no other paths, save a walk on the sandy shoreline to enjoy the warm sunshine.

With no real schedules, the boats come and go as they are needed. Every now and then a small rain shower will pass by, bringing a cooling feeling to the warm rays of the sun, and the sounds of the sea, seem to call the wind as it passes through the trees, down to the shore…

… Despite its welcoming appearance, it seems to give off a very lonely impression…

Checking out the Dock house:

The dock house, like the rest of the docks were made of a light stone, much like that of the docks themselves, which with the presence of all the trees seemed, almost odd. Even stranger was the stone itself. It was smooth, and almost shiny, like glass. In fact, when touching it, that’s almost exactly what it felt like, but even after testing it, one was able to tell either it was very strong glass, or a different material.

Why they used what ever this stone was, was unsure. But it could have been done for respect of the trees. Or maybe it was more practical, after all wood rotted, and stone seemed to last much longer. Not to mention when the monsoons come, surly the stone would stand up to them.

Though, what ever the reason, it seemed to be the only thing welcoming new comers to the island. A small sign swung back and forth in the wind, attached above the door with a small iron pole, simply reading ”Dock house”. As if, it wasn’t obvious enough.

The Iron door, as thick and rough as it looked, swung listlessly open with but a gentle push, as opposed to the first impression that the door seems to give, asking would be enterers to force it open… Generally they are met with the sound of the door swinging open and slamming against the wall inside…

Hearing the slamming door, a young elfin girl jumps, as she looks up from a small desk nestled on the other side of the room. ” Maybe I should get that door checked out” She mumbles to her self, regaining her composure before putting on a smile.

”My name is Ti’ana, This is as you’ve probably noticed the Dock house. Is there something that I can help you with?”

Taking the path towards the city:

Maybe, you didn’t need to stop by the dock house. Or, perhaps your just leaving it… But it seems like this is the only way to go. Through the lonely path that cuts into the forest… Surely it leads somewhere.

As you walk along the path, The sun and the rain dance thought the tops of the trees, as with wind seems to sing a little song, to help you on your way. Normally, large mysterious forests are supposed to be frightening. However, this seems to be the exact opposite.

Tree after tree… The path continues, You can feel the energy moving back into your body, stopping you from feeling tired. Occasionally you want to stop in your journey, Just out of habit…

The journey through the forest, though time consuming, is uneventful. After an hour or so of walking, You begin to see the city through a small clearing. The first thing catching your eye, being the strange glass-like buildings, similar to that of the dock house…

Strolling along the shoreline:

The sea’s song is really enchanting. With the sun smiling down on the island, and the rain dancing around with the wind, its truly an amazing sight… To the left, and to the right, the sea seems to stretch on for ever.

A nice walk around the beach is just the thing, to give one some time to relax. As the water gently nuzzles the shore line, it seems to play at passer-by-ers to come play in the water, and enjoy themselves in the sand.

Being the first trip out of his large home city of Medonia, and obviously the first major trip at sea, Simran is a bit shaken and seasick from his voyage, but he tries his best to hide this. After all, he is an intelectual on a mission, and this humble little island, (at least according to what he read about it), seems to be the perfect spot to begin his quest to discover the secrets of magic, and perhaps, find out more about his enigmatic, magically gifted ancestors. The small setting is strange for him, concidering his aristicratic upbringing in a large city, and at first he is unimpressed. Upon entering the Dock House and meeting the Elf, he replies, slightly hesitantly, "Um, hello. My name is Simran Greenfist. I came here from Medonia to learn about, well, magic in general. Arcane lore facinates me, and the magical influence in this area is quite palpable, so this place seemed like a logical choice to find someone who could teach me a thing or two about magic. Do you know of anyone who might be able to help me?"

[Terinos]

Terinos smiled at the girl and laughed, he was much older than she by her appearance, but yet he knew that elves hid many years behind their looks. Terinos's Cloak swayed side to side as he quickly found what he was trying to say to the girl. "Hello my dear, i am Terinos Quate... I am a new citizen to Alleria and i wish to find a place to eat, sleep and drink of course most of all"
Terinos had recently recovered from ten years of being an alcoholic "I'm sorry the ale has gone to my head, I need to find somewhere, it has been a long journey and now that i have arrived i wish to sleep ... where may i find such a place, or should i leave this island?" He stopped ... and listened to what she had to say.

OOC: Sorry sorry sorry for not replying sooner! Arios is still sort of under construction and I did not notice your post.

Ti'ana welcomed the mainlander with a smile which only grew broader when he mentioned his desire to learn Arcana. "Well, Mr. Quate, if you are looking for practicioners of Arcana, then you may have found the place for you... Nearly everyone on the island is Unbound and has been taught magic in some form, myself included. Arcana is, quite simply, a major part of the Ariosian lifestyle – since we are constantly exposed to raw magical energies, it is only natural for us to try and understand those energies and use them for our own ends. I should point out, though, that there are no formal magic academies open to the public as of now. If you wish to learn Arcana that badly, you'll have to find a Master Mage among our citizens and ask him or her to teach you." Ti'ana offered yet another smile of encouragement. Simran would need quite a lot of oratory and eloquence skills if he was to convince an Ariosian to teach Arcana to a mainlander, but almost everything was possible on Telath...

Terinos

Well well, Humans like this one were not a common sight on Arios, and Ti'ana did not have the foggiest idea which human sub-race Terinos belonged to. His request, however, brought the sincere dawning of a chuckle upon her lips. "Sleep? Here? Here of all places? I'm afraid you will find sleeping outright impossible while on Arios, good sir" she explained in an amused tone of voice "The magical energies which run wild on this island will keep your body from tiring and exhausting, meaning that you will not feel the urge to sleep during your stay here. You should not stay longer than a month, though, since it can be very unhealthy for a mainlander to be exposed to this particular environment for a long time. You really did not know about this... detail?" She looked slightly incredulous. Why would a mainlander bother sailing to such a secluded place as Arios without even gathering some basic information about his destination? "Arios is... special, you know!"

[Terinos]

Terinos looked suprised and confused "Pardon, my dear.. for taking time out of your busy schedule" Terinos had not studied the island before heading here, how foolish of him. This was obviously not the place for him to start out on, with a smile and a wink he turned and left the dock house; looking for a ship to take him to another island, and city

Surprise added to surprise, and Ti'ana's confusion only grew more overwhelming as the stranger simply turned around and headed back to the docks with no more questions asked. Mainlanders were silly beings, she thought to herself, but as a public officer in Arios she would not allow anyone to get a bad first impression of her beloved island. After a few moments of hesitation, she eventually hurried out of the dock house and catched up on the Linn Feanii waving her hand to catch his attention. "Good sir, the next ferry to the mainland won't leave before tomorrow!" she yelled, her behavior not entirely appropriate for an Elf.

[Taithleach]

OOC- This is my first ever post...i really dont fully understand this game yet so if this post doesnt really follow whats supoosed o be going on just let me know...

Sitting in the back of the boat as it makes its way to the dock, Taithleach o' kidan continues reading his book of necromancy. The captain's form apears at the door. The captain looks down at the undead necromancer sitting and reading "Aye! Were at the docks now sir..ye can be leavin' now" Taithleach looks up at the captain and says "Very well then..." As Taithleach gets up and leaves the boat he throws four gold coins too the captain. Taithleach steps into the dock house, upon meeting the elf he says "Ah, an elf is here eh? hahah...greetings..i am Taithleach kidan...I have senced great arcane power upon this island...and I have come to find where it has come from...if you have any information on this, tell me.."

Taithleach looks down on the girl, a very solemn expresion upon his face. Taithleach ponders what to say to her, he heard that this island had very powerful arcane magic on it and could even sence it himself.But, upon arriving here he felt nothing strange but he could sence the arcane power, it was stronger this time, much stronger. "I am Taithleach o' kidan...I do have a few questions for you ti' ana. First, I feel a very powerful magic presence on this island..I want to know the reason for this...second, I would also like to know the path to the city, if there even is one..."

[Halkintis]

Looks at the girl, a solemn expresion upon his cold dead face. He ponders what to ask her...he had an ok trip here by ship...no pirates..nothing bad...But, He came here because he senced a powerful magical flow from the dark mountains...he ponders over it for a few seconds. "I am Darksol Balkoth...I have a question for you..one that many have probly asked...There is a very powerful arcane presence on this island...Why is this? It looks to be just like every other elven town in Aleria...but the magic here is very strong.."

[Leanan Shee]

After a horrific boat ride, for a forrest dweller, Leanan floats up to the door of the boat house and waits for some other person to open the door for her. A moment later, a human exited the building allowing Leanan to enter and flutter to the desk. She waited there for assistance, all the while scoping the desk for collectables. "Hello?"
