The Temple of Kaimelea
A tribute to the Planetar of Dreams
Though the temple was rarely visited it was held in the highest regards on the island of Arios. Those who visited the temple were usually those that were suffering mentally, often from a lack of sleep. The temple was the one place in Arios that one was sure to get a sleep at any time. The priests that lived here were capable to putting the citizens of Arios to sleep, something that the mind needed even if the body believed that it would be fine. The priests and priestess’ of the temple left every lunarias to bless the houses and buildings where people would be residing to allow them to sleep.
From the outside the temple looked as though it were in the relm of dreams. There was always a constant shadow on the spiraling upwards stone building caused by the trees. It was the only place in the town that never received any light even when the sun was directly over it. The branches of the trees all leaned to cover the building and the area around it. This however did not stop plant growth, as vines climbed the stone building producing brilliant yellow flowers that were similar to stars at night.
Upon approaching the temple a feeling of peacefulness and restlessness would was over the person. It was the one place where the body seemed to realize that it was working on to little sleep, though it was still not possible to sleep, without the priests help that is.
Entering the temple was more of the same feelings on top of it a welcoming. It was not often that one would actually see anyone in the main area that was rather small but footsteps echoed and one was almost immediately greeted though if not there was a desk straight ahead that a man with priest robes stood at. If it were not him at the desk it would be him greeting the visitors.
“Blessings child” he would say low and smoothly as the building naturally amplified sound and anyone that spoke loudly would soon see. “How many I be of services?” he would ask stepping behind the desk to shake the visitors hand gently.
The priests inside of the building were skilled with the art of the mind and were able to counter the sleeplessness that the island seemed the naturally give off. They used the temple to worship Kaimelea and help those that were struggling mentally be it from lack of sleep or otherwise. They were very kind and gentle to the few visitors they got.
