At one time the best place on Arios to find out anything to do with Archery was by a man from the main lands. He was still remembered though not for being the excellent bowmen that he was. Rather now Sal was remembered for going crazy and burning down his own building. It was demanded that he too leave the island during the flush despite having been there for so long and the riches that he was willing to pay. In his last moments before being taken off the island he threw a torch at the building and in seconds it was burnt to the ground. Luckily the right people were there to stop the fire before it took over the city.
That was then, this is now.
The Notchery is a small wooden cabin style like many houses, however now instead of having an archery range in the building one is built outside. This give for better training as the natural elements can be involved and calculated. At least that is what the owners say. The door of the building is constantly left open unless in sever rain. A small sign nailed to the side of the building reads “The Notchery” though it doesn’t need an introductory.
From the display window outside one can usually see finely crafted arrows and bows of various color and sizes. It is no question that the Notchery favours the short bow but they are well versed in both type of bows and from time to time even carry a crossbow with bolts. These have never been made here but it was something that was traded once and they haven’t been able to sell it.
Going inside of the building would be exciting for any bow enthusiast as bows were held from the ceiling for examination, arrows in stands on the ground, and other accessories behind the counter. At the counter one would meet a Dorin female who would greet them with a nod and a friendly “Serale, welcome to the Notchery. Take your time and look around, if you need any help please let me know.”
Behind her was a human working on some arrows, checking to ensure that they were straight and sharp enough. The ones that were getting too thin were broken and lay at his feet. He was finiky like that and wanted nothing but the best quality sold in his shop. He never looked up at a customer as it was his wifes job to do so.
