Some surprises are less fun than others (Saka)
It was a calm spring day which had come after a cycle of bad weather, and Saka was taking the opportunity to stroll on the beach and feel the sunshine on his skin. It was getting close to the dinner hour, and he had the beach largely to himself.
Suddenly, something landed near his feet. Looking down, he saw a small doll, about 4 inches tall, constructed of straw or some such natural fiber. Its eyes were red threads sewn in a X pattern. How odd. A powerful sleepiness overwhelmed him and he slumped quietly into the sand to enjoy a dreamless sleep.
Suddenly he awoke with a start. He found that he was in a large cage made of wood. There were three other people in the cage with him, all children of about 10 or 12 eras, two girls and a boy. Outside the cage, two large and muscular orcs sat in the sand, examining a small pile of loot that included the contents of Saka's pockets and whatever weapons he might have been carrying. The cage seemed to be wedged in a narrow crevice in the rock, and a large rowboat could be seen beached on the shore beyond the orcs.
If there as a bright point in the situation, it was prehaps that whatever had put Saka to sleep had no after affects. He felt alert and awake now.
