Located in the Province of
Prime, the Great Lighthouse was erected in 8454 by the Republic of
Luctadomum to proclaim its intent to master the seas. The Lighthouse became the very symbol of the Luctine Republic, even appearing on their coinage. Its walls used to be gold-encrusted, though the gold was later removed by
Doge Patrel Vingelhoff to finance a large army of wolfrider mercenaries from the north in the war against the
Aelyrians. This act would mark the beginning of the end for the Republic.
Today, the giant lighthouse still stands atop the rocky cliffs by the ocean to warn sailors they are close to land that is not safe. The light shines bright and even in the foggy mornings it can be seen a great distance. The stone building is so large in height that it is said that it makes even a giant feel as though it was dwarfed standing by it. The stone is perfectly smooth as if it had never seen a winter or a bad season. Once the landmark of a small Imperial Garrison, the lighthouse has long been left to the devices of a chosen sole lighthouse keeper.
