Serale, Aelyrians,

There will be a brief (one hour) downtime sometime in the next day while the Aelyria Server is being upgraded. A series of new features will be installed, previous features will be upgraded, and a new network system will be superimposed upon Aelyria. More information will be available once we get closer to the affected downtime. Thanks for your patience and support!

The Aelyria Server was offline for approximately 2 hours (from 8:00 pm Eastern Time to 10:00 pm Eastern Time, -4:00 GMT). The update is still ongoing, though there should be no further need for any system downtime. I will be activating new features and functionality over the next couple of days, and once the patch has completed, I will post new patch notes with a complete listing of new features and changes. If you encounter any bugs or weird performance, please do not hesitate to post it here.

I had managed to get on at 6:30, 30 minutes before the actual downtime ended...and I got in a post i had managed to write up while the downtime was happening.

For some reason the post didn't register in my UserCP subscriber list and it still says the last post was from GM Nimh. This is the actual thread: http://www.playbypost.com/forums/ieffre...ml#post1353031

The post is still there though and it's timestamp is at 6:30ish. So just wondering what might be up with that.

There may have been a slight disconnect between the post and postupdates. I'm not sure if there's a swift fix to this, but over time, as you continue to use Aelyria, it should auto-update itself. Let me know if you notice any other odd performance.

Update: I hard-updated it for you by manually pushing that thread. Other threads are auto-pushed when people respond to them, so it should clear up within a day or so.

Wow. Thank you, I will look into that this morning.

Update: These have been fixed. Some of our link rewriting tools weren't working properly, so I have turned off the "index" set of rewrites. The index-pagename.html pages will once again be showing up as index.php?realm=pagename for the time being as a quick work-around.

Later this evening (in approximately 60 to 90 minutes), I will be taking the Aelyria Servers temporarily offline for a scheduled backup, and to activate the next layer of our upgrade. Total downtime should be around thirty minutes or so. Thanks!

The Aelyria Server was offline for approximately 90 minutes (from about 8:20 pm Eastern Time to approximately 9:45 pm Eastern Time). During that time, I performed the next phase of our foundation upgrade. The Servers have been brought back online, and you should be able to access all Aelyria features as normal. Please note: you may have noticed that our forums are now being accessed via www.playbypost.com/forums -- this is intentional. With the exception of a minor error back on aelyria.com (which I am repairing), all attempts to access the Aelyria.com forums should redirect to this URL seamlessly. Of course, the best way to access Aelyria is still through our front page, at www.Aelyria.com.

KNOWN ISSUES

-- vBmagazine and vBmultipages are currently awaiting vendor re-authorization.
-- Some graphical layout (in the Arena) is not functional, but will be corrected shortly.
-- Our chat room may not be authorizing properly, but I will be correcting that within the hour.

If you encounter strange/weird behavior, please be sure to first shut down your browser, empty cookies, and refresh, and then if you still notice the weird behavior, please report it here so that I can investigate. Detailed patch notes will be posted in the next 24 hours. Thank you for your continued patience.

-- Aelyria Magazine and Multipages functionality have been reauthorized.
-- Arena layout being corrected now.

TEMPORARY OUTAGES:

-- The www.Aelyria.com front-page login box has been disabled while cookie issues resolve themselves. Users can still log in from the forums as usual.

I've redirected any referenced made to aelyria.com/gallery to automatically re-direct to playbypost.com/gallery, so gallery users who were referencing images should be all set. That should hopefully take care of most issues. Let me know if you have a specific example of broken imagery in the Worldforge and I will investigate (and fix it) in the morning. Thanks!
