Timestamp: Solaria, First of Kalendryas, Winter in Era XIV PF.

Spitting on the pavement wasn't going to produce much, but it did well to pass the time.

Rent due again, and not much crowns to pay the old hag with. That meant he had to get a living. He could get a job, this much was true. Then again, he could off and rob someone, trick someone, defraud someone of their hard-earned wealth...this was Imperia, after all. The land of unlimited opportunity.

That's what it was, after all. Nothing more but a land of opportunity. So opportune it was, that no one else had paid it any heed. To even call it a backwater was a compliment. Yes, this was Imperia, the dark city by the bay.

Making his way to the Governor's Folly, so was he taking time to take a sip of the clear water by cupping his hands. The produce of the Midnight Star was good, but a mite too expensive for his pocket right now.

Crime did pay, and pay well, particularly here. On the other hand, maybe being one of them Provincial Marshals wasn't half-bad. Being an official rubbernecker and gettin' paid to do it made for a decent living. And they had such neat digs and threads, too. Not much else to do for a bowslinger in these here parts anyway, yes'm. No way in Jorel was he goin' ta be a barkeep, no siree.

Spitting once more into the dust, so did he prop himself against the edifice, use his hat as a makeshift fan and continue to watch, listen, and wait. Who knows, perhaps the Gods would give him a sign, make money fall from heaven.

Ermine had decided the best way to see the city was by foot. She had begun to walk and get lost in the crowd. For the most part she had seen what she had known her whole life, crowded houses, cheap lodgings and even cheaper food. Of all the cities she had to end up here one gaint picture of what was trying to leave behind.

At this point it didn't really matter how she did it, so long as she could come up with something that worked. True Imperia wasn't surronded by the sea but those walls and its guards it may as well have been. Thay was the problem there was no quick way in and out.

Deep in thought about ways in and out and walls she saw movement out of the corner of her eye and jerked her foot back in time to avoid getting it spit on. If this was the kind of people around here she would be leaving as soon as possible. But she was not about to let this slide in any case. "Excuse me, but could you watch it. I would not be happy if my foot and your spittle were to come into contact."

First Kalendryas Winter Era XIV Post Factum

Drake hustled the streets in complete darkness, being only as a shadow. Most don't even notice his presence, that's the way he likes it. Drake was always about making money no matter the cost, but in Imperia's streets the cost could be your life. In any case life was, for the most part...well. Drake may not have much crowne, but he survives day by day. Drake stopped for a moment of running the streets to watch some around him. Everyone seemed to be caught up in thier own buisness. One man seemed to be in the same area as him, money money money.

Drake slowly worked his way toward the man, unnoticed. Drake made himself look non-suspect. Drake leened himself against a stone wall of a run down building in imperia's downtown area. Drake kept tossing quick glances. Drake moves even closer, once again unnoticed. He was now almost feet from each other. "Psst." Drake whispered. "Looking for work?" Drake posed the question before the man could even think of saying a word. "I mean no hostility..." Drake then flew a hopefully relaxing comment to him.

A sound caught her ear and she snapped her head around to an alley way. She narrowed her eyes in an effort to see deatils of the figure. All she could make out was the fact that he was in fact male. Not that it meant anything to her one way or another. Every lesson in life told her to grab the person standing next to her by the arm and drag him out of here willing or not. On the other hand the offer was not directed at her but there maybe something in there for none the less.

Squaring her shoulders and standing her ground she cast her eyes around to take in the scene. As far as she could tell he was on his own and that fact gave her a small bit of comfort so long as numbers were not againist her she may have been able to hold her ground. "Ha! No hostily? Then you would not be lurking in alleys I think."

Drake was staring at the man waiting for a question, but nothing came from him before annoyouns aroused. Drake seen the female standing at the end of the alley. Drake walked slowly away from the man and walked his way over to her. "What is it to you what I do or whom I speak, careful when you speak it could have you killed..." Drake smiled as he spoke, a alomost crazy look on his face, he walked away. "Oh yeah an by the way...mind you own business." Drake walked away back to the alley where the man was standing but he was not there anymore. Drake just shook his head headed back to the inner city.
