[Office of the Aedile] Houses! So Grand. [Mod]

Cycle 2, The Month of Immanis,
in the Season of Winter, Era I of the Celestine Mandate,
Era XV Post Fractum.

Lirael paused just insidie the door of the offices of the Aedile, puasing as she surveyed the room with a confused frown upon her young face.

Flicking a few wayward strands of white hair over a pale, thin shoulder, Lirael finally made her way into the room proper, making a bee line for the human man sitting behind one of the desks.

"Serale. I'm lookin' to buy a house, an' was told 'dis was the place I should be lookin'. Do ye have any fer sale at the moment?"

Dignitas is an upstanding Citizen
The hub of Imperia's commercial and bureaucratic governance was busy this brightening, unsurprisingly. A line filed out of the front doors and quequed those wishing to to business here, making the experience already poor tasting when one got to an actual member of the staff here. Before Lirael were two dwarfs talking about what the city would pay them for their house. The conversation was fairly boring, as neither side man nor wife (although it was a bit hard to tell which was which) accepted the estimate of the other. Throughout the wait Lirael learned not only the details of the marriage, sexual life, sons and daughters, clan and homeland, but learned other essential information such as the amount of crowns a dwarf spends on spirits per cycle. The amount was staggering, and likely whatever they were selling their house for would be used up mostly on that exact purpose by the sounds of it.

However after the mandatory half candlemark wait, she was admitted past the doors of the entrance, it being her turn, and she made a beeline for the nearest available staff member. A younger human of perhaps only 30 or so ordinations was who Lirael would get to speak with. He didn't bother to look up from the paper work he was completing. "Visa. Name Please. Take a Seat Please. Thank you." he said in mono-tone, extending his left arm (the one he wasn't writing with) to take the visa. Assuming she handed it to him, he wouldn't bother to read it, merely sit it by his side. The human had black straight hair, down to his shoulders and very tanned skin. A minute would pass before he completed his form and sat it to the side in a stack of other paperwork.

"Houses. Yes, we have several." he said, as he finally looked to the girl. He issued a quick smile and then went back to a more neutral face. "Well, what are you looking for exactly?" he asked. It was very loud here, as the room was filled with people and other desks nearby, all talking at the same time. It was amazing how these staff members didn't develop headaches. Or maybe they did. Either way, people walked past the desk, occasioanlly brushing against Larien accidently as they did so.

ooc: who is larien?

Lirael clasped her hands together in her lap, giving the young-ish looking man her best smile. "Somethin' small -- 'tis jus' me, ye un'erstand. One bedroom, seperate bathing room. Nothin' run-down, ye un'erstand." The last was said a bit sternly, as Lirael raised one white eyebrow and smirked at the man.

Drawing a bundle of papers from her work apron, she held them out for the man to see. "I am also understandin' I need to be payin' a small free to 'ave 'dis finalized, aye?"
