The dusty courier returned, in slightly less time then it had taken for his arrival. The sultan had kept him for an evening allowing the man a taste of extravagance, being pampered in his palace and filled with food and teas while the leader of Arakmat pondered the best course of reply.
When morning came, one of the sultan’s personal trackers met the man, and along with a reply to Eraisuithon hand written from the sultan the pair set out on the ancient paths. Time was saved thanks to intimate knowledge and skill the tracker had of the desert and allowed the courier to return in a few brightenings less.
When he did forward the letter, sealed with the ancient seal of the Al-Hakaar family, a tribal arakmatan sun set in golden wax binding the edges of the envelope together, within was a small simple piece of parchment containing the sultan’s reply in common of letters long drawn and italicized naturally from the flowing hand of a practitioner of the ancient arakmatan script.
Lord Protector of Imperia, Eraisuithon Nan'tathren
Your words fall upon welcoming ears; it would be a pleasure to meet with the acting leader of my sister city to the north. The only thing I bid of you is to send messenger of your arrival ahead so that I may prepare my advisors for our meeting and a mansion for your stay.
I look forward to our visit, and discussion of whatever proposals you may have.
Sultan Rafiq Al~Hakaar
