[Ivory Citadel] The Inquisitor-General's Office
Nestled in a forgotten corner of the Ivory Citadel, the offices of the Inquisitor-Major of the Hand of Aslan are hard enough to find as it is. Trying to keep one's wits about them while enroute to see one of the most feared men in Kriskinstat makes this journey none the easier. At last one comes to a narrow door at the end of a dusty corridor, the cobwebs along this hallway begging the question if even the cleaning staff is afraid to come down here. The door itself is iron-bound oak, the chocolate brown hue of the wood showing little of the signs of wear that one would associate with a busy office.
The door opens slowly, hinges screaming in protest. One can almost hear the voice of some Jorelite being put to the Question in their grating screech. A small office becomes visible as the door swings inward slowly, cluttered a bit with books stacked here and there. A desk and a smaller table bear the brunt of this, some of the stacks several feet high. The bookshelves on the back wall are equally crammed with ancient tomes, and one begins to wonder if there is truly anything else to the room.
That question is answered by a forceful voice from behind the desk, the powerful authority of it almost forcing compliance before one can consciously decide to do so. "Close the door behind you, and have a seat." comes the almost impatient voice, clearly not happy about being interrupted. After, and only after, these tasks are completed, does the voice stand and show itself. A thin human, with receding black hair and intense blue eyes regards the newest entrant for several moments, the caress of his gaze raising gooseflesh on the back of the neck. His pale skin crinkles into a small frown, seemingly displeased with the results of his examination before a single word is uttered. The whole effect is a little overwhelming, and one's stomach turns a bit under Sebastian Kane's withering gaze. "What do you want?" he asks simply, a barely detectable note of contempt on his tongue.
