The streets of Kriskinstat were quiet, even for a small town, the suns low on the western horizon providing what illumination there was for the two figures walking patiently through town. What citizens and townsfolk were about offered a quiet sort of deference to Richter, several of the older set offering a quiet nod or even a salute. These were returned in equally quiet and deferential fashion by the ranking member of the Hand."Not to be rude, but I didn't hear all of your conversation with Acolyte Tanis. What do you seek at the Ivory Citadel?" he asked, genuinely curious to hear the dorin's answer.

"Serale and Greetings, Knight-Commander Richter," he spoke as he moved in step with what sounded to be a very important title, keeping to his right and and a half-step behind, as he had done customarily when escorting his former lord or a VIP of said lord. His cloak billowed slightly with the movements as he moved in stride, the words he spoke next very carefully chosen.

"I am Tanri Sol'kebah. Long have I been a servent of Aslan's will. At first I worried that he was testing me when I lost my previous employment, but I learned instead that he was calling me forth, for that same cycle I heard of your Order. As soon as I could I came here, in hopes that he might wish my service on a greater scale...hence my attempt to seek entry into your Order." He was speaking slowly and precisely, regardless of the fact that this was the most he'd spoken in quite some time. Ri was generally a man of few words, and usually what words he did speak were spoken with great meaning, emphasized by his rumbling bass voice.

"I do not wish to be viewed with skepticism in my faith and calling, nor bigotry or racism, as is far too prevailant in our world, but would instead like to earn a place among Aslan's honored servants serving alongside like-minded individuals, which was why I came. After all, I've always believed that Aslan judges not by the race or breeding, but the quality of one's soul, the faith they carry, and the honor they uphold." Realizing how badly he was rambling on, he felt the embarassmant overtake him and was glad, in that moment, he didn't have the exposed flesh of the furless races, so that his flush was not appearent.

"If I speak too much, I apologize, but it is obvious based on the guards' behavior you are someone of import, and I have no desire to waste your time, Knight-Commander." He quieted, wondering what this seemingly-powerful figure next to him would have to say to one such as he. Ri was not nobility, he was not a mage, he was not someone of import or with hidden talents. He was simply someone who had a sword and knew how to use it, and had principles that he was willing to use the sword for.

The dorin's ad hoc companion slowed his placidly brisk gait, something striking a nerve apparently. "I am always pleased to walk in the light with a brother in Aslan, Tanri Sol'kebah. If you were wasting my time, you'd know it." he added in simple, perhaps a bit blunt, clarification. "As for the guards, as you call them, acolytes need a gentle nudge every now and then to ensure humility. It is a quality they will need should they wish to become ordained as full Brothers." he concluded sagely.

"As to speaking too much, say only what you need to convey your heart. Anything else is... wasting my time." he added with a faint smile.

"Assuming you aren't just playing at it, the process is a simple one. You merely present yourself to the Commander of the Training Cadre, and stand before the Admissions Board. I would caution you, however. Father-General Sibelius is a very... traditional sort. He's been very selective of prospects during his tenure." he added, clearly dancing around an uncomfortable subject in a way to preserve honor for all involved. "In nearly fifteen eras, we've only accepted ninety or so prospects." he added, clearly not liking that fact either.

"All that aside, the process is difficult and the life hard. It is not a path trod upon lightly. For each Brother accepted into the fold, there are seven who... falter. Are those odds you are willing to face Tanri? There is no shame in saying no." he added most sincerely.
