The Artist's Nook
The Artist's Nook had not, before occupation, been a particularly prominent building, being a two-story building of indistinguishable gray stone blocks and sandwiched between a pair of two-story buildings of gray stone blocks. This had decidedly changed since newlyweds Gavriella and Nevyn Murasys had purchased the place. A painter, Nevyn had commissioned his Colette Silverleaf school friends to help paint a mural on the outer wall of the first floor level. A flowing, brilliantly shaded scene of musicians playing on upraised stage while painters and poets worked diligently near-by decorated the once plain gray walls. But that was not all that they had painted.
Walking into the shop, if the impending customers were not snagged immediately by the variety of instruments hung and set-up along the wall to their right or by the neat rows of shelves along the left wall containing various supplies for painters, poets, and other such writers, their attention was drawn to the large mural painted behind the polished oak counter that wrapped along the back wall. This mural had only two people, a lutist and a painter. The lutist was a woman with long, bright-blonde hair and pale skin, her eyes shut as she strummed the lute in her hands. She stood beside a dark-haired young man painting at his easel, serenading him as his brush swept over the canvas. The individuals in the painting were particularly carbon copies of the two that alternated between standing behind the counter and walking the floor conversing with their customers, for their friends had done the lovebirds a special privilege by depicting them on their own wall.
The more friendly and out-going of the couple, Gavriella was usually the first to greet their customers. "Serale, friend, what can I help you with?"

OOC: Continued from The Aedile
IC: Lohrtar had just come to the city of Vers, and he was now looking to establish himself. Having been forced to leave his previous place of residence, Ieffreon, due to a failed assassination, he had decided to return to Vers, a city that fascinated him greatly. He walked up to The Artist's Nook, with a letter from Aubrey, the aedile, in hand.
"Serale", came the greeting from the fatigued Ikonomancer. "I have here a letter from the Aedile of Vers. She sent me here", he said, handing over the letter. "You see I've just come to Vers, and I need both a job and a place to stay. Do you, perhaps, have a job that you could offer me, in return for a few crowns and a modest place of residence?", he asked, hoping the job-hunt would be over soon. He was too tired for politeness.

Roaming off the Versian paths Zynn found The Artist's Nook. Proceeding through the door right away he noticed the creativity flowing withing this building's walls. Strolling around the nook the Vysstichi looked longinly at the instruments. Putting his eyes and hopes down for the moment, he decided sitting down at a table would be best.

Lohrtar Silvermoon
Afternoon, Brightening 16 of Imperos, Era XI (PF)
Gavriella took the offered letter, an eyebrow quirked as Lohrtar continued to explain his reasons for coming to The Artists's Nook. Her eyes, a pale blue not revealed in the mural behind the counter, quickly skimmed over the parchment which confirmed the dark-haired man's request as a genuine one. "I see," she half-murmured, looking up again to take in Lohrtar's appearance, "Well, we were looking for someone to help out with serving customers in our little store so there is a position available. Would you just give me a moment, Mr Silvermoon."
Her smile was sweet and friendly, before she moved across the floor to speak with a dark-haired young man who was engaged in demonstrating the range of paper and parchment that lay in neat stacks to a customer. One could only assume it was her husband, for there was a few moments of hushed conference, the pair looking over to Lohrtar a few times, noticing his travel-weary features. The man finally shrugged and the woman returned to Lohrtar.
"Well, Mr Silvermoon, or may I call you Lohrtar? My name is Gavriella Murasys, by the way, and my husband over there is Nevyn," she explained before continuing. "We have a room which you could use over the shop if you wish, although you would be sharing our kitchen as we also live above. It's not a large room, but we would ask 10 crowns a cycle for its use. The wage offered would be 35 crowns a cycle to begin with, perhaps more later on and your duties would be to serve the customers. Do you have any experience in sales?" Her voice was warm and gentle, a sweetness in her nature that made it clear why the handsome man yonder had taken her as his wife.
Zynn
OOC: Hi Zynn, would you pick a number between 1 and 50 so we can choose which day it is in the month Kalendryas for your timestamp. I'm also going to assume that Zynn is wearing his cloak with the hood up as its not night time. If I'm wrong, let me know and I'll edit.
IC: Gavriella was coming forward to greet the newcomer to The Artist's Nook, having just said farewell to a friend who had come with a lute which needed restringing. Yet as she approached Zynn, her step faltered as she saw the cloak which covered the slender figure. It was unusual for Vers, a place where the weather was invariably fine, to be so garbed and something made her hesitate and hang back as the newcomer wandered about the shop, inspecting the range of instruments which decorated the wall to the right. However there was no way to pretend that she had not seen his presence once the cloaked figure sat down by the counter and now curious she finally came forward with a small enquiring smile. "Serale ... may I help you?"

A hint of a smile crossed his face. It seemed his luck was changing. It would be exciting, if not inspiring, to work and reside in this shop. It could certainly help the development of his Ikos skills. Having been trained in the arts of political oration and mannerism, though briefly, Lohrtar had some control of how his surroundings percieved him. He put on the most polite and friendly face he could manage, and spoke:
"Oh please, do call me Lohrtar", he said and to Nevyn with a "Serale, sir" He felt happy. It seemed he would finally have a place to stay. It was modest, but at least it was a start. "Many thanks. I have some experience in the area, though not in a shop such as this one. I worked as a clerk in a shop called Port Pets in Port Constantine, and worked as an assistant to the aedile of Ieffreon", Lohrtar explained, unable to keep from looking around at the fascinating shop, in which he would hopefully get to work from this day on.

Lohrtar
She smiled, impressed with the man’s credentials, although it was hard to believe that the travel-worn scruffy man before her had been an assistant Aedile at that precise moment. Yet, she reasoned, it would do no harm to see how he fared working in the Artists Nook. After all, if things didn’t turn out well, they could always fire him. However, she had an intuition that this wouldn’t be necessary. Lohrtar spoke well and they needed the help. Her husband and herself were hoping to do extra work in Vers in their chosen arts of art and music and with someone minding the store, this would be possible.
“Well, if the wages suit you, I think we’d be happy to take you on here,” she replied with an easy smile. “Would you like to see your room now? And then tomorrow you can begin. I can show you the store and the different ledgers and inventory and so on in the morning when you’ve had some time to get refreshed …” At that point, her smile went a little wry, for she didn’t wish to make Lohrtar feel bad about his current state, yet it was obvious to anyone with eyes that a shave and a hot tub of soapy water would do no end of good for his appearance.
