"Sad to say, not of my knowledge, for hair care anyways..." spoke her teacher, looking a bit worn himself. Smiling, he looked at the small little hobbit, and then said, "The song we shall be learning today is called the Chant of Conquest... This song was originally created by Emperor Constantine, and was said to give a person greater strength, dexterity, and endurance. It also makes them more aggressive when they are marching forwards, or fighting... Let's see if you can figure out how to make this song work appropriately... Whenever you're ready..." He then fell silent in awaiting her voice to carry the song to his ears...

Lyssoryl made a frown of concentration. This was going to be a difficult spell for her to psyche herself up for- she was not naturally a very aggressive person at all. She knew that a song sung without feeling was not going to be worth a whole lot. So far Aeron Sinol had been patient with her, so she allowed herself some time.

Finally, she thought back to a time two eras previous, when she had an on-again off-again job taking care of the young son of a tailor who was only occasionally wealthy enough to afford a nanny. They had been going to the bazaar to run a few errands, and a large dog, probably driven by hunger, had attacked him. Lyssoryl remembered how her reaction had been one of fury, which later she had found unnerving. She had beaten the dog with a stick and chased it bleeding down an alley, pelting it with rocks, barely in control of herself with anger that it could have tried to harm her young charge.

It was a moment more before she could steel herself to the idea of revisiting those emotions. Then she let the feelings wash over her again. She tried to ride them like a canoist in a whitewater river, steering them away from pure fury and instead feeling the strength and purpose the fury had given her, and her urge to punish the dog.

Reaching Clara was definitely getting easier for her, but it still took her some time. Then, concentrating on the elusive feelings she had prepared for herself, she began to channel mana into her song. Somewhere in the back of her mind she hoped that she wasn't overdoing on the aggression, but it was far too late to worry about that.

As she channeled the mana into the song, her teacher certainly felt the aggression coming from the song. He felt as if he could take on Ioannes himself, and defeat even the toughest of foes. Once she completed the song, he grinned a bit, and then said, "Excellent job. Now, do you have any questions for what we've been learning so far?" After he asked her that, he then awaited her response...

"Whoosh! That one was a bit difficult for me, emotionally if not technically. I'm not usually a fierce person and it was a bit of a struggle for me to get into the spirit of the song. But then once I started, I found aggression aplenty. I'm a bit shocked at myself. Perhaps I should go brawl with the Orcs and see if I find out something about the secret inner Lyssoryl."

"I don't guess I have any questions at the moment, but now that I think on it one thing that might help me for next time -since this song is rather a difficult one for me- would be to hear you sing it. That way I could compare my beginner technique to your expert one, and perhaps use the memory of the aggression the spell instills to get in the spirit of the song for when I sing it."

"Well, considering the song is already implanted into you when i unbound you, it shouldn't have been tooo difficult, but getting into the mood is definitely hard to do, especially when you're not a fighter by nature... I don't mind singing it myself..." he said. Taking a deep breath, he began to sing the song, having entered his clara about thirty seconds before hand, much quicker than Lyssoryl could enter hers. As he sang, she would feel mindset becoming one of invincibility, her little cether abilities becoming stronger, and more able for fighting. She'd also feel more aggressive, and ready for anything. After the song had finished, he looked down towards her, and then asked, "How do you feel?"

Lyssoryls eyes were wide, as she felt the emotions course through her. "I feel terrific!" she said. She picked up a pointer from near the chalkboard and made a few fencing motions with it. "It is only a shame that I don't have anything to do that requires aggression me to feel this way. Perhaps I shall write a song or a poem or some such thing."

"Thank you though, I do think that this will help me for next time. I shall focus less on an angry sort of aggression and more on the feeling of invincibility. Shall we learn the rest of the songs today? I feel like I could handle it."

"If you think you can handle it, i will teach you another song. But it will require you to calm your aggressive feelings, and attempt to make us both feel calm, and have a sense of safety and security. It is called Lullaby for Leland. Once again, i've imparted this song into your mind through your unbinding, so it should not be a problem for you to know the words... Now let's hear it..." he said, smiling at his student, almost bearing fangs of aggression from the previous song he had heard and taught her...

Lyssoryl replied somewhat indignantly, "Of course I can handle it!" Then she suddenly looked sheepish. "Oh right, I'm still feeling invincible and aggressive. Sorry." She marched back and forth for a time, trying to work off a bit of excess adrenaline. Then she took a deep breath.

At first it seemed like she was not in a good state of mind to sing a lullaby, but she decided she could work within her current mood. Feeling invincible and aggressive should provide her a good strong focus if nothing else. She decided on imagery to help her, a wide river rolling gently a long, calm and serene, but backed by the power and magesty of nature.

It took her a bit of effort to get back into Clara, as her stirred up emotions made her want to concentrate too hard like she had done on her first day. At least she was getting used to that problem.

When she got her arcalysis reaction going, she concentrated on getting her voice to come out as pure and sweet as she could manage it. She felt the song gliding over her tongue like a river, powerful yet gentle, and let it spread out to fill the room.

The song didn't come out exactly as it was supposed too. As she sang it, instead of being serene, and calm, she continued to sing the song aggressively. Her instructor certainly didn't feel anything, and it was because the magic didn't work as it should have. Instead he got a sense of fear. "You can stop now, the song is backfiring..." he managed to silence her before the fear would become too much for the two of them to handle. Managing to enter his clara, he dispelled the effects of the spell. "We shall work on it tomorrow, for now, just try to relax, and calm yourself down..." he said, and then allowed her to take her leave unless she had questions, or anything to say about it...

Lyssoryl frowned in disappointment. She had struggled with getting the proper emotions, but felt that she was doing a good job anyway, no doubt in part because of her feelings of invincibility.

"Well drats! I thought I was going to do that one correctly. I'm at least glad you were here to take the thing apart." She blinked a couple times, as if trying not to cry, and left the room for the brightening.

The next morning she again came early. Instead of sitting in her seat, she was sitting crosslegged on the floor, apparently trying to meditate herself into a feeling of serenity. "Good morning!" she said brightly.

"And good morning to you as well," said her teacher. "How are you feeling this morning? Have the effects of the spell worn off? If so, then let us try the other song you had wanted to attempt yesterday..."

"I am feeling quite well, thank you very much for asking. I find it quite Ironic that the first spell I should fail on would be a lullaby, I've always been a championship caliber sleeper. Although now that I think on it, perhaps a natural sleeper has less of an understanding of the process of going to sleep, as it comes natural to them. In any case, I believe I am as ready as currently possible."

She had been spending her pre-class time thinking about lullabies, and what characteristics they had that made them more or less effective. Growing up in an orphanage, it was a rare thing indeed for her to have someone sing to her, but she had often gone to sleep with an imaginary mother singing in her head.

She tried to keep this feeling in mind as she entered clara, and once more she began to sing the Song, this time allowing the love she had in her show itself.

As she began to sing the song, a feeling of serenity fled through the room. Everyone began to calm down from any excitement they might have felt about the song. Once she had finished, the serenity still lingered about, and her teacher said, "Good job Lyssoryl, you'll find that this song will come in useful if you're trying to calm people down... now, out of the last few songs, which do you want to try and learn today?"

"That is an easy choice for me, I'd like to learn the Healer's Hymn. I have very much been looking forward to learning to heal people, it seems a lovely sort of thing to know how to do. Besides, it would really have to be that or Scales of Dissonance, as I haven't got a weapon with me to enchant with Sonnet in Solo."

"I don't feel as tired from casting a spell as I used to feel. I hope that means I'm getting the hang of it, although perhaps I just got a good night's sleep last night."

"Oh, say, are you taking part in the festival? I imagine there is ever so much call for a talented bard such as yourself. I would like to do something festive to pitch in by we will see. And what exactly are these "elemental trials." Will elementals be raced like greyhounds?"

"Oh, right, and should I cast now? Is Healer's Hymn an OK choice?"

"Well, if you'd like, we could do two of those spells today, and then we'll practice them plus a new one tomorrw..." he said, smiling a bit, and then taking out a knife. "Now, i usually tend to dislike violence or harming oneself or others, but for the healer's hymn, we need someone to be injured in order to heal them. I'm going to make a small little cut upon my arm, and when you sing it, imagine the wound healing, closing up, and scabbing over. Imagine it healing at an astonishing rate, without stopping it's progress..." And with that, he grimaced a wee bit as he made the cut upon his forearm, and then awaited her to sing the song as the blood started to drip down his arm...
