[Vers] Gone raffling (open).
Brightening 48, in the Month of Kalendryas, in the Season of Winter, Era 1 of the Celestial Mandate, Era XV PF
In the early evening of the 48th brightening of Kalendryas, Lyssoryl found a corner of the town square and put down the wooden apple crate that she was carrying. It was a chilly day, but there were still revelers about, or so she hoped. From inside the crate she removed a smaller box and a sign that was freshly painted. She sat on the smaller box, and turned the apple crate on its side to form a small makeshift booth. She leaned the sign against it.
The sign read:
Buy your Raffle Tickets here! Only 1 silver! First prize- a Date with an elegant Cether maiden for the Imaden Winter Ball. Fine talk guaranteed, good manners a likely possibility. Price of your own ticket not included.

For the first few candlemarks, nobody showed up to buy the raffle tickets. It probably would feel strenuous and depressing that there weren't very many Cether around in Vers, but suddenly, upon the horizon, two young cether males were making their way down the streets of Taralon. Talking amongst themselves, they almost missed the sign that said something about raffle tickets. But one of them spotted it, and then read the sign, and looked towards Lyssoryl with his eyes gogglin. He was a bit shorter than Lyssoryl, with brown cropped hair, a white button down tunic, and some green trowsers. The other was a smidge bit taller than Lyssoryl, and had red cropped hair, with a red robe upon him. Both looked like they were from Imaden's academy. "Now what do we have here?" asked the brown haired Cether. "A raffle for a beautiful cether maiden? That wouldn't happen to be you, now would it?" he asked, eyes still goggling at her...

"Well, yes, it would happen to be me." She said, with a modest tilt of her head. "It would hardly do to have a raffle without displaying the prize. Although I fear that I shan't be out here much longer, lest I freeze into an ice sculpture. Would either of you fine gentlemen care to purchase a ticket? It's for a good cause."

"I think indeed that we shall purchase tickets, and might i escort the lovely prize of this raffle back to where she is staying?" asked the brown haired cether. "My name is Raz by the way, and this fine young lad is named Taz, we're brothers." Smiling, he nudged Taz, and Taz spoke up to say, "That we are, and two raffle tickets please!" He retrieved two silvers from his coin purse, and gave them to Lyssoryl...

"Thank you very much!" Lyssoryl accepted the coins and put them in her pocket. Here was an interesting quandry for her. Her original plan had been that she would sell anyone a ticket, and if the buyer looked interesting or nice she would declare him the winner on the spot. Now she had too good candidates at the same time.
Oh well, she thought to herself. Might as well have a real raffle of sorts.
She brought out two slips of paper, and had each brother write their name on one. She then put the slips into a bag and shook them.
"I believe I will accept your kind offer of an escort back to my place. In fact, let's have the drawing now and be done with it."
She shook the bag vigorously, then drew out a slip of paper, and read the name. "Why Taz, you're the winner! Congratulations!"
"I am staying in the Imaden Dorms, as I have newly become a bard. Am I right in guessing that you two are also from the college?"

Taz grinned, and nudged his brother. "I won, fiftey fiftey chance and i won, how about that?" Ras grinned back, and then said, "Fiftey is a fairly high percentage for a raffle, but fair is fair, enjoy it, you deserve it..." He then turned to Lyssoryl, and said, "We are both from the college..." Taz then added, "And i'd certainly like to accompiany you back there. We are actually both apprentice sorcerers, at the arcana school there... You say you were an Initiate bard? Who was your teacher?"

"I was taught by Aeron Sinol. Do you know him? I found him to be quite kind and helpful as well."
"So you're both adepts are you? I'm impressed, being only an initiate, and that for a short time."
As she spoke, she quickly packed up her makeshift booth, then stood up, ready to go.
"How do you like Imaden? I quite like it myself, although I could do with a few less Orcish wars going on outside the city and a few more Cether's to spruce up the atmosphere. Still, I am not one to complain."

"As a matter of fact, we both wanted to go to the Imaden academy of arcane arts since were were little," said Taz. [b]"We're twins you see, although not identical to each other... as you can proabably see. Anyways, Even as adepts in sorcery, we all had our starting points, that being the initiate. Keep at it, and i'm sure you'll do just fine."
Raz smiled a bit, and then said, [b]"Aeron, eh? Wasn't he one of those teachers that used his arcane barism in the fight club around here? or the bounty hunter guild or what not?" The question being directed towards Taz. "Why yes, I believe that was the rumor going around, was that he was apart of a bounty hunter's guild, and used his songs to help improve the abilities of his group..." replied Taz. "Did you know about that Lyssoryl?" he then asked...

"Oh my gosh! I didn't know about that! I had always thought of him as the gentle stay-at-home type. Although now that you mention it he did advise me that if I go adventuring I should stand in the back and play support, so perhaps he was speaking from personal experience."
"I do thank you two for your votes of confidence. Like you've I've dreamed of this since childhood, although for me it's more about being a bard and performing than the magic."
As she talked, she walked with them back towards the school. After making a brief side-trip to drop off the apple crate behind the kitchen, she led them towards the Bard dormitory.

As they walked towards the Bard dormitory, Taz spoke up about Aeron. "Yes, he has a bit of a wild streak, but everythings okay. The bounty hunter's guild helps keep the city safe, at least for a price they do, so it's not too bad..." he said thoughtfully. "If i were a little braver, i might think about finding the man with black eyes named Black Eye to speak about it..."

"Black eyes? I don't think I've ever known anyone with black eyes. Only dark brown." Suddenly a chill passed through her, as she remembered she had seen black eyes one time before- in her unbinding dream.
"I may have a look for the gentleman myself. Not that I am excessively brave you understand, but as a bard I would mostly adventure from the rear."

"That's good for bards to do, you can work on staying out of harms, way, but at the same time, work on helping your group succeed!" said Taz smiling, and then looking at her wish a sideways glance. The young cether himself liked to adventure, when he had the time for it, but lately he had been caught up in his studies at Imaden. "So, what made you want to be a bard anyways?" he asked, trying to think of a conversation topic...

"I'm not sure that I would call what I did 'deciding.' It's sort of something that I can't help, so I decided to make a brave face and take it for a profession. But I've always been a compulsive singer, I consider singing the luxury that anyone can afford. It makes your life like an operetta."
To illustrate the point, she broke into a song that she had made up eras before about being happy despite having cold mud between her toes. It was sung to a popular tune rather than anything original, but she liked it all the same.

As she sang, it almost made Taz swoon, he was falling for her every minute that she continued to speak and sing. This beautiful young Cether would be the one that he got to take to the ball. He was the luckiest cether in the world right now! Once she was finished with the song she had written eras before, the young cether named Raz said, "That was a beautiful song, though, i must be off now, have a class to teach for initiate sorcerers now... you two have fun!" He then ran off in the opposite direction of where they were heading. Taz said, "It's nice to see him enthusiastic about teaching the students at imaden. I hope to get a job here once i'm finished with my masterpiece... by the way, that was a lovely song..."

"Why thank you sir! You are most kind." She was not oblivious to the glances he was giving her. "But you must tell me about your masterpiece. What is it? Some sort of spell?" She leaned in towards him to give him a chance to smell the scented soap with which she'd washed her hair. "I'm sure that it's ever so clever," she said conspiritorially.
