Ah, the props. How fast they had progressed in the short span of a brightening. Xyltha grinned excitedly, eager to accompany his Cether companion to the reception booth to inquire about the available props.

"Yes, I wonder what kind of clothing is fashionable in the Jungle; hopefully they'll have jungle-wear too - what ever that may be. And what about a cage to keep the Fae in?"

He made a mental list of all the props they would ask for:

Jungle backdrop
Idol
Pair of butterfly nets
Jungle-wear
Cage

"Oh yes, good idea! We'll definitely need explorer garb. Also if we're going to press the fairy in a book at the end, we'll need something for that. Let's go see what they have. Or would you rather rest and do it tomorrow?"

OOC: I'm not entirely sure where to go from here. Do we need to roleplay more practice, or can we do that off-stage and go to the talent show?

OOC: This thread can be complete if both of you wish, otherwise you're guys should rest for a night to recharge your vis, and continue practicing the next day. Eitherway it's up to you.

OOCI think by the way things are going, Xyltha may need an extra brightening of practice to get the mock Faeries down pat. Actually, let's RP going back to the booth in this thread to get our props. Then FFwd to next day for more practice. After that... probably ready for the Tournament, wouldn't you say? ;)

Xyltha nodded his agreement. Yes, they needed a big dusty tome to shut the faerie in, as well. Feeling sapped for his energy, having spent his Vis in summoning the mock-Faerie, he was feeling up for some fresh air and a leisurely stroll back to the booth.

"Let's head off now. Unless you wanted to say bye to your friends in the kitchen first? Yeah, let's go thank them for the food and the support!"

The elfling would follow Lyssoryl to pop their heads in the kitchen area, and voice their thanks to the kitchen staff. Then the pair would make their way to the booth with their list of props.

"Yes, I think that is a good Idea."

Lyssoryl went into the kitchen to say goodbye to her friends, neither inviting Xyltha nor minding if he came along.

Afterwards, the two made their way out to the booth.

"We have created a list of props we need and wondered if you could help us." She waited for Xyltha to show the list he had made.

Of course, having not writing material on hand, the elf had been forced to memorise the list of props the pair had came up with.

"Well, we'd like to create a Jungle backdrop, complete with an Idol ruin. Also, we need a pair of butterfly nets, Jungle-wear. Oh, yeah, and a dusty old tome, and a cage."

He turned to Lyssoryl, looking in askance. "Was that all? Did I miss anything out?"

[Fish Stick]

The attendant smiled, and wrote everything down next to their act's name. "Very well, we shall accomodate these items for you, and have them ready for you at the talent show..." he said smiling, and then awaiting their response if either of them had any response...

Xyltha nodded at the attendant.

"Thanks. We'll come early to get it set up before the show, I guess. Well, if that's all,I guess we'll call it a brightening. Well, I'll see you next brightening then, Lyssoryl. Serale."

With that, he parted ways with Lyssoryl, unless she had something to discuss with Xyltha.

Lyssoryl usually had something to say, but it was getting late and the spell casting had made her tired. "I'll see you tomorrow!" She gave Xyltha her room number, so that he could find her in the morning.

The Next Brightening...

The brightening had started once more, and Xyltha felt refreshed by the darkening's sleep. It re-invigorated him, leaving him feeling alive and excited to continue with more practice for the upcoming Festival Tournament. Now, he just had to fetch that Cether, and the pair could practice some more.

With Lyssoryl's number in mind, he appeared at her doorway, rapping smartly on the door. He ran his slender fingers through his hair, patting it down this way and that in an effort to look more presentable. For some reason, he felt like keeping up appearances around his halfling companion - a sentiment that had grown out from their last brightening's practice together.

"Serale, Lyssoryl, are you up yet? Want to go practice some more for the Tournament?" He yelled at the door. Perhaps she was still doing whatever it was girls seemed to spend candlemarks doing in the privacy of their chambers. A mystery to the elfling.

Lyssoryl appeared promptly at the door. Today she was dressed in an off-white blouse that laced up the front, and gray pants of woolen flannel. Her hair was relatively sedate compared to the previous evening, which boded well as a prediction of the weather.

"Xyltha! I'm glad that you got an early start on the day. I have to work the lunch shift at the cafeteria but we still have plenty of time to practice before I must leave. Shall we try to locate the stage on which we will be performing? If no one is on it, it might be the best place to practice."

Well, the Cether certainly looked spiffy in her get up this brightening. The white blouse contrasted with the gray pants really looked like she was ready to go to bed. But then again, he wasn't an expert in Cether Fashion, or in any other particular fashion arena.

"Oh, that's a good idea, Lyssoryl! Shall we get going now? We have to squeeze as much time as we can for the practice, before you go to work, then."

The single thing he was disappointed though, was there were not going to be complimentary snacks to be had from the kitchen. Well, he'd have plenty of time after the practice to go on a glutton spree afterwards, once he was spent from his spellcasting.

As they made their way to the stage area, they would find it was empty, and void of anyone. Their happened to be a few dozen rows of seating, and since it was in Imaden, the large stage was filled with various items, from arcanic items to mechanical ones, all in preparation for the talent show. Still, they would have enough room to practice on the front of the stage, compared to the back of the stage which was filled with the various items and props. They would notice that their props hadn't arrived yet, which was unfortunate for the pair, but they would just have to make due without them for now...

Lyssoryl rummaged about in the other props, looking for something that might mimic a butterfly net. She found an old broom, and decided it was close enough, she just needed something to wave around that the light and pretend to try to capture it. The rest of the props didn't make a whole lot of difference, as they were mostly for background.

"I suppose I should go first, with the singing of the Aelyrian Anthem. That way I can practice chasing the 'fairy' while tired from spell casting."

She sat at the edge of the stage and allowed her mind to slip into clara. She was planning to march on stage singing the song, so she would be able to prepare mana before the skit actually started for the talent show. As she began to sing, she stood up, and marched about the stage, practicing walking as she sang.

Xyltha smiled as the halfling struggled with that disproportionately big broom in her petite hands. While she went off to practice her Allerian Anthem, he moved to the centre stage. Since they were at the very site where the Tournament was taking place, he might as well get into the mood and act as if it were real. Now, to set the scene.

"Ladies and Gentlemen of Vers! We are the ... Hey, Lyssoryl, what do you think we should call ourselves?... Oh, sorry forgot, never mind, go ahead with your practice.

Ah-ahem, Ladies and Gentlement of Vers. We are the Fae-Hunters Duo! From the far lands of Xet, to the mysterious forests of Silrosia, we fearlessly traverse the entire lengths of Telath in search of the mysterious Fae. From Graces to Pixies, Elementi to Brownies, none can escape our grasp!

Except one! The elusive faes of the Jungles of Trelore. Fleet of flight, they are the most difficult to catch! And thus witness the greatest pursuit of all times!"

He paused for effect. Hmm... Now would probably be the time for the music to start.

He picked up another broom, almost identical to the shoddy one in Lyssoryl's hands. He rolled the handled in his hands, testing its weight. Then he raised it up on his head and brandished it like a butterfly net, swishing it around as if trying to catch imaginary butterflies fluttering around him
