Pala straightened his shoulders and dismissed doubt as a weakness he could ill afford . He had some tools at his disposal , although only apprentice level at the moment he could deliver heavy arcane blows should it come to that state of affairs. His adept training would only start when he had proved to his tutors and himself that he had the experience to continue with his studies. He had other weapons a canny negotiator Pala could talk the hind leg off a raptor when he was of a mind to do so. So the combination of skills might be enough to get him through the forthcoming trials ….hopefully!
Already Pala was convinced that the big showy spells that sorcerers employed were not the direction he was interested in. He felt that his new won skills should be refined into more concentrated arcana. He had little interest in battle magic there were always magi who could do that .No Pala was not going to be a blunt instrument he was a scalpel not a bludgeon…but how?
His musings were interrupted as the saurid was introduced and an eyebrow was raised at the plant spell. He looked on with no little amazement as the druids demonstrated their power over nature but as the amazing tree was formed, he could not help but wonder about the fate of the tree .was this unnatural growth harmful to the tree?
He dismissed the thought for another time and stuck out a hand to the saurid
Serale Ssss'tak I thank you for your help …..
The strange name was a bit of a mouthful for a human and he made the best attempt he could but
I apologise for my pronunciation Ssss’tak please accept my apologies for my ineptitude.

Ssss'tak nodded, and then looked towards Palacrisis. "I underssssstand, not many people can pronouncssssse the sssssaurid namesssss ssssssincssssse their tonguessssss don't ssssssplit asssss oursssss do..." he said, and as he was talking, Pala noticed the saurid's hands moving in various signs. If he was curious, it might have been obvious that the saurid was practicing some other language, or form of communication while speaking with the man. "Ssssshall we be going then? We sssssshould ssssstop and get sssssome provisssssionssssss before we head off, ssssseeing assssss how we don't know how long we are going to be in the foressssstsssss..." said Ssss'tak...

It was probably the first time that Pala had ever met with a saurid and as was his way he was interested in the sentient cold blood. There were reports that these people were doughty warriors indeed a detachment of Saurids were attached to the force that was marching from Arakmat. Although he would not be fighting alongside the army from the desert he was keen to learn something new about the saurid. Thus it was he was observing Ssss’tak carefully and indeed noticed the subtle movements that accompanied his speech He made a point to ask about this at a later point when the opportunity arose but for now it was the practicalities of getting kitted out that would engage their minds
He nodded to Ssss’tek and bowed to the Druidess and lady Jen , thanking them for their assistance and in a slightly ironic tone for the tasks ahead of him .
Very well he said turning to his companion I am in your hands let’s get kitted out and no need to spare the expense.
The beauty of having a few crowns to his name was now he could buy the best that Vers could offer , quality meant a guarantee that the equipment they purchased would not fall apart at a crucial moment or at least that was the theory !
A little later they were approaching the shops that would supply their needs and pala commented Please do not take any offence but I see you accompany your speech with gestures would you tell me of these? I can see a language of gestures might be useful in situations where being quiet is imperative.

"I practice my sssssssaurid language to ssssssstay on top of it when i'm not communicating with other sssssauridsssss," said Ssss'tak. "We generally have a whole range of hand sssssignalsssss that go with what we are sssssaying. Thissssss allowssssss usssss to communicate in more than one way, ssssssuch asssss what you previoussssssly mentioned to where one mussssst maintain ssssssilencssssse..." As he said this, he suddenly had a feeling, and then was quite sure what it meant. "I am sssssorry, we musssst return to Missssstressss Monai, the enchanted glade jussssst disssssappeared..." he said, a sulken look crossing his facial features.
As they trekked back to Mistress Monai, she greeted them at the front of the dome. "It is as i feared, the enchanted glade within our forest has disappeared. It was an odd anomoly to begin with as one hasn't appeared in several hundred eras. Perhaps it was out of place, the same way Vers was when it jumped planar dimensions... Your journey will be much longer now, as the closest enchanted glade happens to be north of Lysandria, just ouside of Elancia... up in the Prime countryside..." she said, and then awaited a response from Palacrisis...

The response was a raised eyebrow a sure sign that Palacrisis was not exactly happy with the news that his guide had suddenly relayed to him but the offending eye brow was dropped into its normal position and the calm demeanour returned after a moment.
. I see Ssss’tak it would appear that this enchantment was somewhat short lived never mind this things happen I suppose, what the gods give the gods take away! By all means let us return to the delightful Mistress Monai and seek her counsel
The explanation was puzzling but interesting Vers seemed an unstable environment perhaps to close to the planar dimensions it was one explanation for the propensity for architecture to decide to up and take a walk when it felt like it.
My dear mistress Monai I fully understand and to the person not attuned to the druidic arts one enchanted glade would appear to be much like another. However my trial starts at the enchanted glade I believe the fact that the new location is situated far away and that we must travel to it is not part of any test of my abilities or am I wrong?
The hard blue eyes bored into the Druidess “I have the tutelage of a master sorcerer who is well versed in the arts of teleportation it would take me only moments to Gate back to my estate in Taralon and then collect Master Bey who could deliver us to the location you mention in no time at all. Master Bey has impressed upon me that this search for the staff of arcana is one I must complete alone but the practicalities of travel are such that I believe I must use the best available methods . He will not interfere or assist me once the trial begins I assure you mistress Monai…So what do you think?

Mistress Monai sat there for a moment, and then said, "You are only of the apprentice level, yes? You will need a skill that is not taught until you are an adept sorcerer... perhaps this is not the best time to be searching for the enchanted wood... I would go back to your master, and inform him that you have at least found the enchanted glade location, and tell him that you cannot create a staff of arcana unless you are of the Adept level..." Granny Jen sighed a bit as Mistress Monai informed them of the truth. "When you are ready, return here, and Ssss'tak will aide you then..." said Mistress Monai...
