[Library] Chasing A Myth [mod/open]

Afternoon, Second Dianara of Kalendryas in the Season of Winter

The Balet'hos Memorial Librarywasn't quite what Ian had been expecting, but then again nothing here was. Large and airy where he had been expecting small and dark, as was befitting of a place of knowledge -- it was confusing, these differences from his own people.

But these weren't his people. They weren't wrapped up in their fears, incapacitated by them. Maybe they had it right, maybe they were just asking for the pain the Gods were bound to bring down upon their heads for such actions. He couldn't be sure.

Or maybe he coud. Drawing a deep breath, smiling at the smell of parchment and paper -- a smell he found he could come to love -- moved through the entrance of the library, moving quickly over to the large desk that drew his attention almost immediately upon entering. He approached the desk with a sure, quick stride, waiting patiently to be noticed by whoever was manning the desk that brightening. After all, he was in no hurry.

"Is there something that I can assist you with?" one of the attendants asked as Ian approached the desk...

"I am looking for information in the Dark Fae; specifically, the Formeyl. Myths and legends, basic histories. Where I might find them, make contact. How I might destroy one. Any information."

He spoke quietly -- almost too quietly, so that one would be forced to learn forward slightly to make out his words clearly. He showed no inclination to lean in himself, lips set in a straight, even linea nd eyes narrowed slightly in anger.

Anger at who, or what, however, was yet to be seen.

The woman's face blinked for a few moments, before she answered. "Well, we do have one book that is on the linn faenii," she said, and then retrieved an article, much less than a book, and handed it over to the young man.

OOC: The article can be found here.

Ian accepted the article with a nod, moving off to find a comfortable spot to sit and read. It was not long, however, before he returned with a scowl set upon his youthful, tanned face.

"Have you anything about the Formeyls, dear lady? You seem to have granted me an article on the Linn Faenii, which is, clearly, not what I had requested." He held the article out to her, the scowl still firmly fixed in place.

The woman looked at him for a moment blinking once more, and then staring at the man. "I am sorry, but so far as I know, that is the only article we have that even mentions to Formeyls, or anything of that sort. Perhaps I can see if one of our other scholars has any information on them, that is, if you are interested in talking to some of the other scholars?" she asked...

Ian nodded curtly, setting the papers down on the desk before him. "That would be preferable."

Shifting his weight to his right leg, he clasped his hands behind his back as he set himself to waiting.

As she made her way back into another room of the library, a few moments passed before she brought out an elderly man by the name of Daved. He was excellent with history, and spent most of his time within the library. "What is it that you wish to know about the Formeyl, boy?" he asked, having been much older than Ian, and well aware of the prospects of youth...

Ian stiffened at the brusque tones coming from the old man, but forced down the spike of irritation that shot through him like an arrow. Lips thinning, he met the man's eyes head-on, crossing his arms defensively over his chest.

"Anything. Everything. Truth, not fiction. Not children's tales." His words were sharp, concise, more so than a natural speaker of the language would make their words.

However, here he paused; not something he did normally, but this was important, and he found himself unsure how to proceed, how much to say. How much to hold back -- if anything.

Finally, he decided to stay silent, lips pursed tightly togeather as he watched the older man carefully through slightly narrowed eyes.
