"Oh, I very much enjoy Sera's cooking, and we Cether are trusted authorities on the subject. Also, she is a terrific person to work for. She's very nice and yet runs the kitchen with a firm hand so that all does not descend into chaos, which is what kitchens perfer to do."

She took another drink of champange. Lyssoryl had all the makings of someone who could not hold her liquor- she weighed only 30 pounds and rarely drank, and she had not eaten in quite a while in anticipation of the banquet. The champagne seemed to be forcing alcohol into her bloodstream at a surprising rate, perhaps powered by the tiny bubbles. Still, she had only had a few sips, and was only feeling a little splendid.

"Do you like my new dress?" she asked. "I think it's mighty nice, but it's a little tight across the top." In a stage whisper she added "some parts of me took a bit of shoving to get in here."

Taz grinned at that, not quite sure what exactly to make of it. It wasn't every day that he was told something so secretive about a woman, but for one as beautiful as this, he'd pleasantly take it as something to be happy about. Looking at the cether next to him, he said, "I honestly love that dress on you... i think it brings out everything about you in one fell swoop..." After he said that, he grinned a bit more, and then asked, "Do you think I look handsome in this outfit?" He was wearing a fashionable black jacket with black pants, and a white undershirt that almost made it look as though he was wearing a tuxedo, but nothing too expensive...

Lyssoryl gave Taz the once over. "Now Taz, a lady doesn't like to be effusive about her date for fear that he will grow bold and press his advantage. But just between you and me, I think you look quite dashing. You'll know if I mean it if you get any kissing later on."

She took another drink of champagne, and looked happily around the room.

"I believe we may be getting close to time for desert, don't you think?"

Sera smiled as Lyssoryl said that, "Yes, Dessert should be out in a few minutes, and a fine dessert it will be, crafted and cooked by myself, as well as some of the other more advanced chefs..." As she said this, it was almost like clockwork that the doors to the great hall opened, and out walked seven or eight people in suits, carrying large trays with a cake on each of them. Each cake was the color of each of the spheres of Arcana, and each had symbols designed on them for each of the spheres. It was the perfect dessert for the perfect Arcana Festival Ball...

Lyssoryl sat back and relaxed, watching the desert appear over the edge of her glass of champagne. She was content to watch the line for dessert diminish a bit before she went to stand in it. When the line was short, she walked up and forced herself to take a smallish piece. It wouldn't do to over eat and bulge out of her dress. She selected a larger piece for Taz.

"This cake is delicious Sera! Remind me to nag you for the recipe."

"Sure thing Lyssoryl!" she said, and smiled. Taking a napkin, and pulling a pen out of a sliver in her beautiful green dress, she quickly scribbled down the recipe. "I always bring this pen with me, it's arcanically enchanted to never run out of ink... i got it from the arcan warehouse after going on a quest to obtain three items for it... That place may be a bit shady, bit it certainly has it's benefits..." she said, smiling at Lyssoryl, and then gave her the cloth with the cake's recipe upon it...

Lyssoryl's eyebrows rose. "The Arcane Warehouse? That sounds like quite an interesting place. Perhaps I will have a look in. I am quite used to shade down here at my level of height, as nearly anyone can provide it for me. What sorts of things do they stock there? Have you been there?" She asked Taz.

Lyssoryl looked happily around the room, enjoying herself thoroughly. It seemed likely that it would be time to dance again soon, but for now she was happy to eat cake and let her food settle a bit.

"I've only ever been there once before in my life, and it was to procur a special reagent for my masterpiece, to see if what i was hoping would work, would work. Sad to say the reagent was far above my price range, so i decline in getting it. Pheonix feathers are not something that one comes by lightly, considering the birds are extremely rare to find, or come by..." he said, a slight smile crossing his visage.

"I suppose that's true, about the Pheonix feathers I mean. Even if you could find one it must be considered rude to pluck him."

She finished her cake at a leisurely pace, and finished her champagne. "Say Taz, are you fortified for another round of dancing? I believe I would enjoy it."

Taz rubbed his stomach a bit, and then said, "Sure, i wouldn't mind another round of dancing to take off the weight i just put on with that meal..." he said, smiling, and then getting up, holding out his small hand for Lyssoryl to take hold so that they could dance some more up on the dance floor of the great hall...

Lyssoryl took his hand and let him lead her out to the dance floor. The champagne had gone to her head a bit, but she was still not seriously drunk. Still, she used it as an excuse to press closely up against him while they danced.

"Thank you for bringing me," she said to him. "I was afraid that I would have to go solo. There aren't many Cether about this city, at least not that I've met. Maybe I've been in school too much."

OOC: Sorry about the lateness in this reply.

IC: As the two cether's danced, the music's tones and songs drifted around them, in and out of their dancing. Taz looked towards her, and then said, "It is my pleasure to be able to dance with you tonight, and perhaps we can do this some other time, since we seem to be good at it together..."

Even as he said this, he was happy to be dancing with her, a feeling he had not had in quite some time. The young cether sorcerer would be her dance partner for the night, and as much as she would permit him to be...

"Why Taz! You should be careful how you talk, I might get the idea that you like me." The music was slow, and she clung to him as they swayed back and forth. She realized that she did not know him well, but he did seem quite nice, and she was having such a fun time.

As they continued to dance, they could hear the music diming, and the sound fading out. The lights of the great hall began to dim as well, giving it almost an ethereal glow. Then from the corners of the room, lines of sparks flew upwards towards the ceiling, and a mist began to coat the floor around them. Taz smiled and looked up towards the illusions that were at hand. "Looks like the mystics had something in store to make the ball a bit interesting..." he said. And as he said that, butterflies flew up from the mist, and began to flutter about the room. The band then began into a melody that matched the feelings of the room about them...

Lyssoryl laughed to see the illusions. She was feeling the champagne now, and everything seemed just a bit funny. She giggled and held onto Taz for support. "I wonder where the mystics are. With mystics, you can never know for sure."

She looked around the room, taking in all the dancing people.
