Instantly, he immediately did not like this man. Never had he been laughed at for the sake of being serious.
His glare came easily on this soldier, memorizing his face quite well....quite well indeed. His voice comes out lower this time, hinting around the edges of menace.
"Tell me where and when this sign up will be. For now, I wish not only to join for the money, I will join now so that more opportunities will be open for me to kill you, you puny little man."
His face did not move from any other expression then the one he had arrived with, letting his voice alone carry on the threats.

The guard shot Heofonum a more serious look now, his lip turning up in obvious distaste. Despite living in the city all his life, the soldier had never liked the Vysstichi, and this one he like even less than the rest.
"Listen up friend, you ought to be careful before you go around threatening people, I might not see you as a threat, in fact your more of a joke to me, but the authorities take disrespect of the armed services very seriously, and in Vortex jail is the least of your concerns. Theres some in the Thanes employ who could use a new 'body' for their research, if you catch my drift."
OOC: Soon enough! Im currently in the process of drafting in some more mods, so some time next week it should be up.

Driezhen soon found a recrutment poster for the Vortex militia soon after completing his training. Having found a chance to apply his skills, he started the trek up to the Fortress. He arrived to find a dark elf and another solider arguing. Disguisted at his fellow warriors treatment of one another, he stepped in.
"Serale sirs, and although I know that my rank is lower than both of yours, I am appalled that two of my fellow warriors are fighting amongest themselves. Come on! Lets save our anger for invaders and other faggots that try to lay siege to this city! ...Now grow up."
Having said that, he turned to the solider. "Now to discuss what I really came here for...I would like to joing the Vortex militia. I believe my twin dagger skills will be helpful...perhaps I could function as a scout or...a distraction." After a little chuckle at calling himself a distraction, Driezhen continued. "Any-hoo, I am ready to serve this city with all my heart and perhaps learn the elegant style of the polearm and spear along with it!" He stopped and looked down at himself. "Ahh...I realize I have no armor or protection. After I work up enough courage to go back to the stupid orcs' armory, I'll be ready to serve full time or part time." Hoping he had not said too much, he waited for a response from the guard...and expected a blow from either of them for stepping into the argument...ack...

The guard gave Driezhen a surprised look, the way he had so confidently interceded in his disagreement between himself and the Vysstichi had quite taken him aback, especially coming from someone with very little standing in the city. He had to say that he was impressed by this ones self belief and the way he had got straight down to the point in their conversation.
"Ai, im sure the militia could make use of your skills. The militia will teach you the basics of polearms and spears, but if you want to learn the rest its the army proper you want to look into. Make sure you visit the Militia hiring fair, they'll tell you more than I can, although lack of armour is not a prblem, you'll get kitted out by us when you sign up."

The elfchild scurried into the confines of the military compound, casting a rather confused glance about the area to assess his surroundings. He hadn't been very far in Vortex, and already he had found himself more than awstruck by the sights and sounds that the city had to offer.
As he moved forward, his crimson orbs settled upon what appeared to be one of the guardsman.
He'll be able to help me!
Gaiting towards the lad, Faust carried a wide smile as he stared up at the looming figure.
"Serale sir!" bowing his head obeisantly, the Vysstichi continued, "I've always wanted to be a scout! Would I be able to get some training anywhere around here? I can pay of course!"

Jon slowly walked up the mountain, and began to examine the two guards before approaching them.
Jon was heavily cloaked concieling his identity other than his hulking figure.
Jon looked at the largest of the two guards, and said,
No need for formalities I am here for some basic information. I do not need you to be kind or nice to me, I prefer brutal honesty above all. I am an Aspirant Mage of Necromancy, I seek a master, if I were to join your little military once I have received training of some sort would your people be willing to further my training, or possibly release me so I could do so?
Jon kept his face hidden during the entire comment, obviously he didn't want to be seen unless it was necessary. This was his way, the necromatic way, although he was far from a necromancer he had the desire, and the motives to do such. Any other training on the side would only serve to help him in the long run.

Digardo hiked briskly up the mountain. He always had thought of himself of a good hiker. As he reached the guards, he set his head straight. He was joining the military mostly to get any money at all, but he did want to further himself and see if he could serve his city of Vortex. He spoke to one of the guards. "I want to inquire about a position..." He began. He had seen others talking with the guards, and as not make them repeat their instructions again he tried to be as blunt as he could. "Who do I see about joining the militia?" He said.

IC: Aierith completed his long trek up the hill but it might be worth it. He took note of the two guards before cautiously approaching but he kept out of harm's reach. "Why do I ave ta be a Orc?" asked Aierith to himself. He knew that most of all Allerians that were not Orcs were racist to Orcs. "I wan ta join da military, I will prove worthy in combat because of my battle ardy life!" called Aierith to the two guards.
"May I apply?" asked Aierith in his loud voice. He stood out of harm's way waiting for a reply.

First Cycle of the Month of Cryxatum in the Season of Spring,
Era I of the Celestine Mandate, Era XIII Post Fractum in the Age of the Darkening
A messenger stopped by to delivered a letter for the new head of the guards, baring the seal of the Thane of Vortex.
