"Yes ma'am I can," he said counting out 100 crowns. "Here you are ma'am." He looked around the poorly lit room at all of the little trinkets and what nots on the wall. The place was nicely set out obviously by a woman. "This place obviously has was womans touch," he thought.

Elric arrived at the School his parents had sent him to. It had been a decently long journey and he was starting to get tired, but nothing would keep his excitement dulled down now. His parents had sent him to this school to learn Alchemy, but his interests lied elsewhere and he never intended on studying what his parents had wished him to. Instead he would feed his inner needs, the real reason he loved science and mixtures. This would be much more fun than alchemy, atleast to him. And the best part was, his parents were nowhere to be seen! Elric almost jumped into the air with that thought, but contained himself instead, walking to the nearest place to sign up for a class. He pushed his red cloak to the side, revealing his black under-coat with its high neck. His shaggy blonde hair sat carelessly upon his head.
"Excuse me," he said politely to the armored elf behind the counter. He figured her a breed of eld due to her ears, but was not for certain whether or not she was indeed one. Still, he was pretty sure he was right, as he often was, being a bright young boy. "I'd like to sign up for a class, but I'm afraid it's not on your sign." With that, he leaned in just a bit and in a more quiet voice stated, "I want to learn the art and science of poison." He leaned back straight once he had said it, his intentions clear and honest. It wasn't that this young boy seemed to be a threat to anyone, and in fact he wasn't, but he was very serious about wanting to learn about poisoning. He had secretly messed with one or two at his parents home in Paxia, and now he would study them officially, hopefully.
The elven maiden was quite receptive to his question, but did ask a question..."You don't intend to use your soon found knowledge to kill me do you?" Elric nodded his head to say no immediately and she laughed with some confidence. "I didn't think so, and yes, I can have you learn the art and science of poison, but it will cost you double the normal starting cost, 200 crowns." She held out her hand and with the other took a near by pen and dipped it in ink. Once Elric had handed her the coinage, she smiled and placed it in a wooden box that sat behind her. "Very well...what's your name and age?"
Elric answered her in the same way she had asked the question, very administrative-like, with no emotion or real interest. "Elric Van Maer, fifteen." With his answer though came a raised eyebrow from the elf. She looked at him and without speaking questioned if learning poison is really what this boy wanted to do. Simutaneously though, Elric's eyes answered her question and so she wrote down his name and age, leaving the "studies" category blank. "Very well," she said, "your class starts in the morning, come here, early, and bring something to write with and on." With that, she closed the book and slid back into her complacent stare she always had when no one was around. Elric nodded and headed for the door, he had things to purchase.
(I have a peer-moderator if that is okay)

Avius stepped into the warm darkness of Issar's school of trades his bright red eyes feeling much more at home in the darkness then the light. This was not always so the the powers of Jalat had turned them a colour more suiting his true race. He was a half breed of vystichi and sylrosian decent. A mix that was detested at best and slain at worst by other pure blooded elves of bolth his lineage. Peeling back his hood Avius bore his snowy white skin and jet black hair into veiw as he stepped toward the counter, the skull arcanically burned into his forehead made it painfully obvious which side of his blood line he sided with. Sedius a raven and his son perched on his shoulder cawed in his ear and stared longingly at the vytichi woman as he longed to once again be in his true form, as Avius approached the clerks desk.
He gave the woman a respectfull nod before speaking and withdrawing a pouch from within the folds of his hooded cloak. It was a lock picking set a rather nice one that he had picked up at windsors supply in alleria prime.
Then laying two hundred crown on her desk he spoke in a way that was simple and to the point.
"My name is Raven. I wish to learn how to use these and I also wish to become a master with them. You can help me with this little problem of mine and I want you to teach me everything you know. I see your prices and agree to them as they come. Why I wish to learn is my bussiness. Will you teach me?"
Avius had made up a name he did not want to use his reall one in this town it would not do him well that his name was thrown around in vortex. He doubted this woman cared anyway as long as she was paid the appropriate sum for her time and services. Avius stood waiting for a reply his crimson eyes locked into the womans with unwavering determination to get what he wanted.

Reenix’ expectant smile turned into a deep frown as Avius stepped into her school. The mixture of vysstichi and lightborn blood was immediately obvious to her, and the fact that he was of mixed descent did not work in his favour. The vysstichi woman did not appreciate his kind. To Reenix it sometimes seemed that those halfbreeds inherited the worst parts of both races. They had the lightborn softness, and the darkborn weakness against sunlight. They were scum and utterly useless. This man even had the black hair of his lightborn ancestors. Did he think that the skull on his head or the raven on his shoulder would impress her? At least half of Vortex followed Jalat, and thus there was nothing special about either thing. Ravens were the symbols of Jalat.
As he nodded to her, she gave him a light nod of her own – without stopping to frown. Her crimson eyes only lit up as he removed the set of lockpicks. They did look rather nice. Her hand immediately went to her own set of lockpicks. At least he had chosen a proper trade despite his tainted blood. She looked at the crowns he had placed on her desk for a moment as if she did not trust them completely before she took them and put them away, almost reluctantly, as if she did not really want to serve him. “Raven is not a particularly original name ...” she commented. “Sometimes I have the feeling that half the followers of Jalat in this city call themselves Raven or Shadow or something similar. If you want to make it in this world, you should consider chosing a new name ...” She shrugged her shoulders. She had just made a suggestion, and it was up to Avius what he did with it.
“Since you have given me the money I requested, and since you have chosen a reasonable trade – which is something I didn’t expect – I will teach you, at least for the time being, unless you turn out to be a complete idiot, Raven. Meet me here again tomorrow two candlemarks after sunrise – with your tools. I will be waiting for you, so don’t be late ...” She gave him a smile that revealed a whole set of sharp white teeth. It did not look reassuring at all, but rather threatening as if she would bury those teeth in his shoulder, his cheek or another part of his body if he did not do what she wanted him to do.

Avius nodded bareing a slight smirk as he scooped up his lockpicking set swiftly pocketing it back in his cloak as he listened to Reenix comment on his choice of alias. He knew it was unoriginal but didn't care. It was quite different for him the raven was his house coat of arms and he could care less what it meant to others. The Sheild of House Thaniquel was the name that would his real name as he trafficked in this paradise of dark arts.
"Generic or not my name serves it's purpose for the moment ma'dam, a label nothing more. As for the trade it is the least sinister of many I hope you will come to teach me. I will be here on time. May the darkening treat you well Master"
With that Avius gave a nod to his new mentor and walked from her establishment far more pleased then he had entered.

Marius Lupus walked into the school once again, taking care to not hold the door open for longer then necessary.
"Serale again, mistress. I would like to continue with what I learned in the last string of lessons, and to further my training in the art of smithing weapons."
The vystichi woman tilted her head to the side. It wasn't often that an individual came back for more. Perhaps the dwarf was in fact worth what she was paying him to teach. He had a nasty habit of wanting to order outrageous metals in which to smith with, usually at her expense.
"It will be 250 crowns for the next bout of classes, it will take roughly 15 cycles to finish the lesson overall. You would start first thing next cycle."
Zoveh considered her words, and began counting 250 in actual coined crowns onto her counter. The owner watched curiously as he began pulling out coins from nearly everything and anything that could be considered a pocket. If the human had been a bit more graceful about it, she would almost consider him a professional.
"Very well then, madam. I will be there first thing next week."
The dracon finished counting out the money, smiled briefly at her, and walked out of the shop, politely cracking the door for only the instant it took for him to slip through the opening.

Querslis moved fluidly in through the door, and came to the counter. Serale, I would like to inquire about some special training. Walk like the wind so to speak, can you teach me how to do such? she said fluidly...
That would cost two hundred crowns, and we can begin tonight. Meet me back here just past sunset, and we will begin... the lady said fluidly. She waited for payment, then then Querslis on her way. She would need to be very careful, stealth is an interesting art.

Crono walks into the school, and looks around a bit, brushing himself off, and wipeing his face from dust, he sheeths his take, and tightens his boots, he begins to walk towards the clerks desk, reaching around in his pocket for 200 crowns..
Comeing up to the desk he asks the clerk:
Might i learn Herbalism here?
And at that he stacks 200 crowns on the counter, and stands there a moment before going to a relaxed stance...

As Crono entered the building, the vysstichi woman who stood behind the desk looked at him incredulously for a moment. Her red eyes widened. “Lightborn …” she hissed. Vortex was a city of vysstichi, humans and dracons. People like Crono simply did not come here – even if they weren’t the usual tree hugging, Aetheria loving kind. They hated everything about Vortex, from the people that lived there over the religion to the atmosphere in the city. And Reenix did not like them. So what was this man doing here? There was only a single elf in Vortex that she knew of: Minhiriath, the aedile. And she was not in her right mind …
“Herbalism?” The tall, blackskinned elf repeated the word as if she had never heard it. “If you mean treating wounds and helping people – no, I don’t teach that. But you can study the … other … aspects of herbs here, the darker aspects, if you know what I mean.” She took his crowns without waiting for his answer and put them away. “But I doubt that an elf of your kind is interested in such a thing …”

Clearly, this woman had never met Crono De'Vir before...
Yes, I AM a Syl'Vyn, AND i am intrested in the - darker - aspects that you so loveingly chose to label them, and me.
Giveing the woman a cold stare, he crossed his arms, and thought to himself:
The nerve of soem people, i tell you what, if i were a little bit taller, and more skilled, people wouldn't judge me by my race, PFFT!
So yes, Herbalism if you don't mind!

For some reason the dark elf was not intimidated by the tone of Crono's voice or his choice of words. She only chuckled softly - as if she were amused. "That's interesting ..." she remarked. "A lightborn that is interested in more than just playing the harp and hugging trees. Let me tell you something. Your size does not matter. People would still treat you the same if you were as tall as a giant. Skill and attitude make the difference ..."
She produced a knife from somewhere and looked at it lovingly as she continued to speak, "If you are certain about training - and think that you can handle it - come back here tomorrow morning. I will be waiting for you ..."
OOC: Start a new thread titled "Basic Herbalism - Crono" and begin it with Crono returning to the school.

Lyzander had been walking around the city of Medonia now as the light had started to completely leave the sky now. There were still lights for the light skinned to see but Lyzander didn’t need it. It seemed that luck was on his side as the entrance to the city of Vortex was the closest to the “Issar’s School of Miscellaneous Trades and Training”. Lyzander was unsure of what sorts of things would be trained here, his original plan was to seek out a blacksmith that worked on weapons and become apprenticed but if this place were to accept him it would be a lot easier. Besides he wouldn’t have to be as social as walking up to a blacksmith he doesn’t know and ask him to do something this big. He stopped affront of the door and read the sign once again, slowly he opened the door ajar and walked in closing it behind him. There was little to no light in here but Lyzander could still see everything better then if there were any, his Vysstichi eyes loved the dark he was raised in. He seen the female Vysstichi and bowed his head down low to her then he again looked up at her. He walked over to the counter that she was standing behind and said “Serale Ma’am, I am here to see if the school that you own offers anything in the way of blacksmithing to make weapons. Swords mostly but if it is to be all types I shall wish to learn that.” Lyzander lowered his head as he awaited a reply from the woman. He thought of how odd was that a Vysstichi would want to own something up top apposed to down below, underground safe from sunlight, but he was not willing to disrespect a female of his own race like that by asking her.

OOC: okay, here it is, sorry about that...
(-The Vysstichi girl clerk looked at Lyzander and nodded at his entrance and listened to him speak. Then she nodded and started “Serale Sir, you are about to take that craft here for 100 gold crowns. There may or may not be some other weapons in your class, you will have to ask your instructor when you meet them. I will need to know your name.”
Lyzander replied quickly “Lyzander…I am unsure of my last name I am afraid.” And left it at that. The girl took down his name and nodded as she looked threw some paperwork.
[b] “There is a blacksmithing area around back, you are expected to be there at…” She started before she looked at Lyzander seeming to remember that he is Vysstichi she continues “Just after Dusk, I suggest that you are not late, thank you for the transaction” With that said Lyzander bowed and started to leave but was stopped by the clerks voice [b] “There is still a matter of being paid…”
Lyzander had forgotten all about that, he remembered his foster parents telling him that he would need to when he left then he remembered that bank notes they had given him. He pulled one out and conveniently it was for 100 gold crowns. He handed this to the woman before bowing out and leaving he suspected he would see her around the next darkening that he came for his training.-)

Olvann entered into the renowned training school of Issar’s School of Miscellanious Trades and Training. It was quite evident early on that the woman he would be dealing with would not be pleasant. He was rather amused that he was dealing with yet another miserable and highly irritated Vysstichi. Only, now it was worse, this Vysstichi was a woman. Olvann simply shrugged off the emotion with a thought of, typical... And approached the Vysstichi cautiously. Apparently the training facility offered a plethora of training to the public. Some of the training looked suspiciously interlaced with the darker sides of Vysstichi culture.
Nonetheless, he was here for a reason and had learnt upon entering the city that what happened here was out of his control and none of his business. In reality he supposed, he really had no reason to judge the culture of these elves, their society operated under ideals known to them all, and at least they all stood a fighting chance at rising to the top, whether by honorable means or not. His kin, if born into poverty, were highly unlikely to rise from that poverty, and fostered generations of equally poor children. They stood no chance.
Approaching the desk, Olvann greeted the Vysstichi politely, "Serale, I would like to inquire on the price and instructor of Intermediate Healing." He let the request sit awkwardly in silence for a moment before flashing a polite smile to the Vysstichi woman. She had at some point retrieved a dagger from... He supposed from under the desk, as he could see no way to conceal a weapon beneath her tight clothing. She flicked it menacingly and with a slight grin. "Two-hundred and fifty crowns for intermediate, and don't worry, I won't be teaching you." She responded with a slight chuckle.
Olvann nodded and continued, "I don't have a kit or books." He said, a question in his voice. The Vysstichi woman looked up to him, her brow drawn dangerously, "Those will be an extra sixty crowns." She replied, irritated. "Your instructor will have your supplies". Olvann nodded again and began searching in his cloak.
Olvann carefully laid out the required sum on her desk and waited patiently for direction. The Vysstichi simply pointed to the back of the building and said, "Sixth door on the right." After which she pointedly ignored him, and kept her eyes diverted to recounting his coin. Olvann bowed to the Vysstichi and made his way back to the training room.
OOC: Will be self-modding my training.
