One of the more respectable establishments in town, the Elegant Blades Weapon Shop had been fairly easy to find. The moriquendi pushed the door of the building open and entered the little store. Having a special request, rather than interested in purchasing a new weapon, the warrior paid no heed to the various displayed weapons, but walked immediatly to the counter. Before the desk he drew his elven longsword -slowly, not giving the impression to attack the shopkeep. This would have been rather difficult as well, since about halfway the blade was horribly bent, making the sword usuless for fighting- and placed it on the desk, whilst speaking:
"Serale... As you see, this blade needs to be repaired. I would not like it, however, to be repaired normally. I would like the longsword to be reforged to a 16 inch, excluding handle, shortsword, if possible." Malkaer paused, waiting for the hobbit to object or approve. "I would like the tip and the cutsides to be made from the best dwarven steel you have available. As payment, you may keep the excess elven steel." The swordsman was no expert on metals and their worths, but he thought his offer was pretty good. Elven steel was not much available in these areas, due the long distance to an elven town, and the smith would keep quite much from the 30 inch long blade. This would compensate the shopkeep enough for his work and the small bits of dwarven steel, Malkaer considered.

Opening the door to the shop in the late afternoon, Liack hopped it was still open and he wasn't going to get yelled at for trespassing or the likes. His cloak over his arm he nodded at the vyssie in the chair and smiled at the hobbit, "Serale," he called and paused to look around him, bright red eyes catching on a few things he liked the look of.
Finishing he own self guided tour he crossed to the counter and spoke the the hobbit, "Serale again," he murmured setting his hands on the counter, "I'm looking for a dullened katana and a normal dagger, steel'll be fine for the dagger but I was wondering if I could get the katana in elven steel?"

Autumn of Era IX in the Age of Darkening, post-fractum
Ashe pushed open the door to the shop with a light palm, and pulled a loose strand of auburn hair behind her ear. Her deep-green eyes wandered over the displays of weaponry that hung on the walls, noticing how the cold steel glistened in the little sunlight that entered. She felt at home here.
She moved with silent steps toward the desk before her and stood silently for a long moment, contemplating her company and decision. Finally, she took in a slow breath.
"Serale," she said in a calm voice, "I wish to seek employment in this establishment. I would be honored to accept even the most remedial of assignments, and I would give my best to each one. I may take on training in metalworking at the school here in Vortex, as well."
Ashe finished speaking and remained standing in the same manner, awaiting a reply.

Kain entered the shop once again yet not any richer, he had a huntch that he wasn't recognised in this place so he walked towards the counter and said "I need a Nasforatu Vampire sword and if I can afford it a Cane sword." He would need this soon if he was going to head down to Har'loth. He awaited the shop keeps reply.

Astraea
„A Bagh what?“ The little hobbit furrowed his brow before his eyes began to shimmer. Of course! The lady wanted a pair of Bagh Nagh. “Of course we have those things!” he said and grinned. And off he was again, towards yet another shelf. All that running and weapons grabbing seemed to exhaust the little man with the hairy feet somewhat. As he dropped the claws on the counter in front of the vysstichi he was panting heavily for a moment.
“Here ... you ...are ...” he said before he caught himself again and grabbed the notebook that was lying on the counter and opened it. “So how much ... hmmm ...” he murmurred and hastily scribbled a few notes down. “A falchion made of steel is 95 crowns. The blackening adds 50 crowns to that. So that would be 145 crowns total for that weapon of yours. The throwing daggers will cost you 360 crowns. That’s for three bandoliers of a dozen. As to the bagh ... something ... they come to 100 crowns a piece ... So your weapons come to ...” Again he paused. Maths did not seem to be his strong point. “705 crowns ...” Having that said he extended his hand, obviously waiting for money.
Motias
“A dwarven steel katana it is then,” the hobbit said. “That would be 1000 crowns. In black it will cost you 50 crowns more. A simple dagger is 20 crowns. As to the double bladed axe ...” The hobbit seemed to think about it for a moment and looked around the shop. “Hmmm ... 150 crowns for you ...”
Faust
“Of course the wristbow will come with another set of bolts, two dozen bolts to be exact”, the hobbit stated, thene xtended his hand. Obviously he expected payment before he gave the vysstichi his new weapon.
Malkaer
Obviously Malkaer and the hobbit did not have the same opinion. Whereas the moriquendi thought that allowing the little one to keep the excess elven steel was a pretty good offer, the little one only frowned. “50 crowns and the excess elven steel”, he finally stated. “The best dwarven steel I have costs 10 times more than normal steel. That excludes the amount of time that I need to reforge the weapon of course. Give me 50 crowns and you can pick up a weapon that is as good as new in two brightenings ...”
Liack
“Of course you can get a dagger and a katana”, the hobbit stated and immediately hurried towards one of the shelves and grabbed the blades that the vysstichi desired. Dropping them onto the counter he said, “20 crowns for a dagger made of normal steel and 400 crowns for the katana ...”
Ashe
As the half elven woman stated that she was looking for employment a wide smile spread across the hobbit’s face. “Of course I need help here!” he exclaimed, obviously overjoyed. “I’d pay you 100 crowns per cycle. What do you say? You could start right now!”
Kain
“110 crowns for the cane sword and 170 crowns for the Nosferatu vampire sword”, the hobbit stated after having listened to the vysstichi before he went over to a shelf to retrieve the desired weapons. Putting them onto the counter he waited for the elf to give him the money.

Motias eyed the shopkeeper with a hint of a smile. He was happy with the pricing on this equipment. He was more than happy, he was finally getting somewhere. Weapons were important around places like this, as the Vyssie well knew.
"So...that's twelve-hundred twenty crowns if I'm not mistaken."
Motias set the designated amount of crowns on the table, official bank notes, really, but they were freshly had straight from the aedile. He smiled.
Motias returned at the designated time and picked the equipment up, had he not gotten everything upon his order.

Ashe stood quietly a moment, surprised at the hobbit's eagerness to hire her and even more surprised at the wage he had offered, which she considered to be very generous for someone of her nonexistent skill level. Perhaps the fact that she intended on taking a course in metalworking was promise enough for the overworked hobbit. She nodded in acceptance, though was a bit wary of beginning her new job without any form of training.
"Of course I accept, sir, and thank you very much for your trust in my capabilities." Ashe's face remained calm and emotionless, without even a hint of the smile that anyone else in her position would reveal. She did not, however, seem to be a sort of person who would act at all rude toward customers, which should have been good enough, at least for her. "You will not be disappointed, I assure you."

She couldn't believe her luck! So cheap! With a nod, she placed eight hundred crown notes in his hand, and smiled sweetly.
"Keep the change," she murmered, strapping on the Falchion, the bandoliers, and first trying on the bagh nakh before tucking them in her belt as well.
"Thank you very much," she grinned, then turned and left the establishment, ready for anything.

Atryl'on stepped into the shop briskly, his dark midnight cloak swishing with every footstep. His hazel almond-like eyes stared with curiosity at the interior of the Weapons Shop, before turning their gaze towards the Hobbit at the counter. 'Quite fascinating creatures..' he mused as he began to walk towards the man.
Smiling politely, and remembering his manners, he spoke, "Serale Sir. I'm in search of a broadsword wrought of elven steel, and a black sheathe to go with it. Is it possible to purchase a sweat-absorbent hilt and get some crystal dust blade blending here as well? Anyhow, I would also like to purchase a bandolier of a dozen throwing daggers please..." With a smile and a glint in his eye, Atryl'on waited patiently to be answered.

Now Malkaer frowned. Naturally the little shopkeep was trying to pull his leg. If dwarven steel was ten times the price of normal steel, elven steel would be around five times more worth. The excess elven steel was however around three times as much as the amount of dwarven steel the moriquendi required for his weapon. The swordsman was however wealthy enough to pay the extra crowns, but he was not the man to be so easily disposed off in the game of bargaining. At last, the moriquendi warrior nodded.
"The excess steel and fifty crowns..." Then he thought of something useful, which could be added to sweeten the deal for him. "Very well, the excess steel and the fifty crowns it shall be, if you can provide me with a suiting leather sheath." It was a minor request, but the moriquendi warrior had suddenly realised he did not possess a fitting sheath for a weapon of sixteen inch.
If the hobbit accepted, Malkaer laid a fifty-crowns voucher on the counter, and left. A two brightening wait period was not nice, but inevitable. The smith would probably have to use all his skill to succesfully add dwarven steel on elven, whilst trying to keep the loss of steel as less as possible, considering the value of these uncommon metals in these areas.

Ashe moved slowly among the displays of weapons in the shop, familiarizing herself with each style and make that were available. She carefully examined the blades of dwarven and elven steel, and taught herself to recognize the different makes and designs. Many of the blades were breathtaking, and Ashe could have stared at them all day, had she not had a job to do.
She looked over toward some customers who were calling for her hobbit employer, and, seeing that he was busy forging new weapons, Ashe took her place behind the counter.
"I will take your orders now; please tell me what it is you need."
Atryl'on
Ashe watched the elf solemnly as he made his list, then frowned slightly; she doubted this man could afford what he was asking for, but that wasn't her place to decide. She nodded slowly and scribbled some numbers on a swatch of paper before replying.
"We do have broadswords, which normally are 350 crowns, and are in stock at the moment. A broadsword in elven steel, however, will take two brightenings to forge and will cost 980 crowns. You can get a sweat-absorbent hilt and crystal dust blade bending here, as well, but of course they will cost extra. We have the daggers in-stock - if you don't want to wait the two brightenings to buy them with your sword, I could get them for you now." She paused a moment, trying to remember if she had forgotten anything. "We do not have any sheathes here...you might want to try the armory."
Malkaer
Ashe frowned slightly; this Moriqueindi was persistent in his dealings. She glanced around her for a sheath, but only a few could be found, and none of them were suitable for a sixteen-inch blade. She wasn't about to go to the armory and buy one for him! She breathed in slowly.
"I'm sorry, sir, but we do not carry sheathes here, only weapons. The armory down the road makes custom sheathes, you would have better luck looking there." She watched the Moriqueindi a moment, contemplating his willingness to cooperate.
"As for the price of the repair, I don't believe I can take less than 35 crowns, plus the excess steel." She hoped that would cover at least most of the cost of a sheath, and satisfy this tough customer.

Appearantly the little hobbit was too busy with orders of new weapons, repairs and customizations that he needed to hire the help of an assistant. Where the half elf female had only a minute before stood in front of the counter, now she was behind it. Malkaer did not mind, and repeated his order, in case the new shopkeep had not heard him.
It was unfortunate the shop did not sell sheaths, and to the warrior's opinion, a little awkward too; a sword wasn't complete without a fitting sheath. He would have to visit the armory, as the weapons shop help suggested. The new offer was fine with the moriquendi and he nodded. "That is satisfactory." He said, upon which he drew his purse and laid down thirty five crowns. The elven longsword, the item of the deal, still lay on the counter. "I'll be back in two brightenings, serale." The customer left the shop.
[two days later]
With a ring the door of the Elegant Blades Weapons Shop opened, and a seasoned warrior stepped in the store. He quicky made his way over to the counter, and adressed the salesman: "Serale. Two brightenings ago I brought here my elven longsword, which I had customized... You remember" If not, he would go into more details of his order; he didn't know how many customers this shop had a day, but hopefully that was not needed.

Malkaer
Ashe looked up as the Moriqueindi entered the shop and paused a moment before nodding slowly.
"Yes, with the dwarven steel on elven. Just a moment."
She turned around and searched the shelves, then carefully took the said weapon into her hands. The blade had been wrapped in cloth to protect the precious metal from the atmosphere of the shop and to ensure its shine.
Ashe carefully laid the sword on the counter and looked to the Moriqueindi solemnly.
"I hope the customization is all you had intended. Hours of patience and labor went into it, and, if I might say, it shows." Ashe wished she could share in the pride the forger no doubt held for this achievement, but waited for the Moriqueindi to respond. She knew she would hardly be able to contain her anger if he disliked what had been done with his sword.

Malkaer was glad he had not to enlighten the order further, and looked at the blade before him on the counter. Naturally, it looked strange first. The sword had been in his possession for a while now, and to see almost half of the blade gone, was a surprise. Ofcourse, to live up his role as persistant customer, he picked up the shortsword by it's old wooden, sweat absorbing hilt, to test it. As if it was the most normal thing on earth, the skillful warrior suddenly stabbed, aimed at the head of an imaginary foe right of him. He nodded approvingly, as the smith, as proficient in his job as the swordsman was in his, had automticaly adjusted the weight of the pommel, balancing the weapon perfectly. It was a good detail which the moriquendi had forget to mention when he placed the order.
Now the tough negotiater inspected the blade itself. The tip and the sides of the shortsword were unmistakingly made of dwarven steel, just as he had ordered. This had been a hard job, he knew, as somehow elven and dwarven metal seemed to deflect one another. The lenght was exactly the sixteen inch he had asked for. As a final test, the warrior moved the thumb of his left hand alongside the edge of the deadly weapon, and hastily stopped with this; a drop of blood left the small wound. Now the moriquendi reached up, a smile on his face and answered the shopkeep: "Indeed, it does. Send my compliments to the smith."
With the sword in his hand, he left the store, probably to buy a sheath for the weapon. The saleswoman could be rightly proud of herself, satisfying this tough customers. However, if she thought a customer as Malkaer was bad, she had better not take a job in the fishmarket, although that was probably not the career she wished to pursuit. (OOC: dun mind me, just being a lil crazy; thanks and gl )
