The half-elf smiled slightly as the gnome went about his work. It would have been good to have been so prepared to adjust for the slight failing which the goddess had left the far from pure elf with. He wasn't concerned though with the issue in realizing he had such. He couldn't have been upset or angry with something such as this, it simply was.

So as he moved to try and alter the distancing between his eyes and the pair of smooth glass disc's thing slowing came into focus, however slightly. Removing the lenses though the half-elf red out the writing on the page. "There is an A, F and B. The next line is C, J, M and E." In returning the glass he squinted slightly and made some attempt to force himself onward.

"The next line is... Z, g, t, and y.... I think?"

Iseril:

The gnome regarded the elf curiously as he tried his best to read all of the letters. When he was finished, he looked at the sheet, and shook his head lightly. Iseril hadn't managed to get all of the bottom letters, and even if he had, the gnome knew he was struggling. A strong lense was required, and that was easily solved. Placing the paper down, he reached once more into the crate, pulling out another of the wrapped pieces of glass, and held it up for Iseril to take. Taking the first piece, the gnome wrapped it back up carefully wiping any smudges or finger markings that might have appeared while it was being handled. That done, he once more held up the sheet. The last line of letters was N, S, I and Y.

"There you go. Now try once more to read the last line only. I misjudged slightly on the strength of glass you would require. This one should do it."

Sure enough, Iseril could easily read the bottom line, and even the first two seemed clearer. The gnome had found the proper lense. Once Iseril had read the line, the gnome took back the glass, wrapped it back up once more, placed a small piece of green about it so he would know which one it was, and locked the chest back up returning it back to where he kept it. Looking back at Iseril, he clapped his hands together, and smiled.

"So, seeing as your an elf, I am guessing you would like thin frames. Now, I can make your frames out three types of metal. Copper. brass or iron. Copper is cheap and weak. They might tend to break if you put much pressure on the arms. Brass is stronger, and has a shine to it. It bends easily and shouldn't snap on you. Iron is the strongest, though not as attractive. I offer to plate them in silver, but that raises the cost significantly. Brass, I can tell you, is the most popular. Which would you prefer?"

She nodded her head when she asked about the few days. Yes, she needed them in a few days so she could deliver them. She scratched head slightly for she had an itch. Beginning to calm down, she stood down and eased up on the grip of her spear. The price was no big deal, she had the money. Skylar took off the necklace again and placed it back on the table.

"Yes you may copy, I wouldn't want a mistake either. The 1,000 I have, and shall bring the 4,000 in about 5-7 days." She reached into a pocket inside her cloak, and took a large pouch it was filled with a lot of crowns, more than 1,000. She counted out 1,000 and pushed the heap towards the clerk. Skylar decided that she needed to make a deposit of some sort of the bank.

With a slight bow, the jeweler took the crowns and carefully put them into a small chest she had lying near her table. She then took sometime to copy the symbol with a thin piece of coal, going over it several times to ensure what she had drawn accurately matched Skylar's medallion. Her talent with the coal was obvious as Skylar watched her work. The strokes she made were fluid and quick. As the drawing took shape, Skylar would note that the jeweler had indeed captured the proper style and look of the symbol. When at last the Vysstichi jeweler felt she had the symbol copied correctly, she looked back up at Skylar with a small smile.

"Five to seven brightenings, as you say. Is there a place I can send word of the completion of this task? Or will you just come by on your own?"

ooc: Skylar - your profile only shows 2000 crowns. Where do the rest come from? Just have to confirm. Thanks.

(OOC: Instead of spamming with only saying I'll have the money soon, I decided to post when I had the money. I just sold Skylar's house and it was worth 5,000 crowns. Now I'll have 2,000 crowns left over! *smiles*)

"I shall come by on my own. Most likely I'll be here on the seventh brightening." Skaylar states after the fair jeweler spoke.

Skylar was surprised in what skill the jeweler had with the coal. The sketch looked just like her necklace. Excellent work, Skylar thinks to herself. Grabbing her necklace and placing ir around her neck, she sighs lightly.

"It was nice meeting you. I'll be leaving now." And with one more look and nod to the jeweler, she backed away, then turned around and headed off through the busy street of the Bazaar.

SEVEN BRIGHTENINGS LATER...

A familiar face walked down the same street as a few brightenings before. Her body was cloaked just like before, and one hand holding her spear. She didn't have as much trouble finding the jeweler's stand for she had been there before. Approaching the stand she let's down her hood to have her familiar features shown once more. Smiling, she leans on her spear slightly, relaxing.

"Hello there Madam. I was hear about seven brightening's ago. I asked for a certain symbol to be made in a thicker chain that I showed you, and a certain ring. We also made deal that I would get a clasp for a cloak for free. I'm sure you remember." Skylar said with a smile. When she was finished talking she swung her pack off her shoulders and opened it, reaching for something. And out comes a bank note for 5,000 crowns. She dind't have 4,000 crowns or a not of 4,000 crowns. Just this note.

"Will it be a problem if I ask for change? I only have a note of 5,000 crowns, and than a spare bag of crowns." Skylar asks the jeweler.

The half-elf only smiled as the world came into that much better focus. The small shopkeeper had done well by him and so they were clearly nearing the end of the transaction. Still there was the question of the mythril which he wore and the chance it might be used in the frames. Such would likely be costly though and there really was no need as the thing was a gift, even if for an event which was likely never to come.

Running his hand over the metal under his color the half-elf made his choice. It might not have been the cheapest but he wanted something he could both wear in a study or a ball.

"I think I will have to go with Silver plated Iron. So, just what might i owe you for these?"

Iseril:

The gnome nodded and started to think about what the potential cost would be. The plated iron would take some time to prepare, but that was part of the necessity of the work. If Iseril coud affored a few extra brightenings, then the cost would be what he normally charged. However, if he required them sooner, then the gnome would have to charge extra. It meant he would have to put all other projects aside until he had finished the eyeglasses. Best to ask the elf than to speculate.

"I wager I can make these for 300 crowns. Of course, it will take near a cycle to finish them. If you do need them sooner, then I'll have to charge ya extra. However, if you can afford to wait, I can guarantee you that the quality and fit will be perfect."

Obviously, the gnome would prefer that Iseril wait to allow him time to finish them properly. He never like being rushed in his work, but some customers were persuasive. Certainly, if it meant a few extra crowns in his pocket, the gnome would gladly have them ready sooner. However, he also liked his free time, and he doubted he would have much should Iseril require the eyeglasses in a few brightenings. Maintaining a pleasant smile on his face, the gnome glassmaker waited to see how Iseril would respond.

Skylar:

The jeweler had been expecting Skylar to arrive on the seventh brightening, so she was not surprised to see her walking towards her table. Having worked hard to first purchase the various gems she would need, the jeweler had been hard pressed to have the items completed on time. The intricate design took some work, but by the end of the project, she had been satisfied with the result. Nodding in greeting to Skylar as she approached, she reached down under table and lifted a small wooden box, which she placed before the fellow Vysstichi. Opening the top, she pulled out an item out that was wrapped in a thin, soft black cloth.

"I had been expecting you. I am hopeful you will be pleased with the symbol and ring." she said as she unfolded the corners of the cloth.

The necklace slowly came into view, and soon Skylar could see the symbol held lightly in the jeweler's hand. Skylar would indeed be pleased. The crimson red was a perfect match, the skull and red symbol on the moon formed beautifully. It was all inset on silver with a thicker chain attached to the top so that it could be easily placed over ones neck. Next, the jeweler brought out the ring. It was made of the requested platinum with three small, ruby stones inlaid on the setting. It had been polished to a shine, and sparkled in the light around them. Next, the jeweler brought the clasp - made of silver and in the form of the House D'Rishinad symbol, it had obviously been made specifically for this purchase. The jeweler looked at Skylar as she showed her the clasp hoping that she would be pleased with the design.

"I hope you are pleased. I felt that the clasp should match the symbol. I hope you do not mind me taking such liberty with your selection." Pausing only for a moment, the jeweler responded to remainder of Skylar's inquiry. "As for payment, I can provide you with the difference in crowns. That will not be a problem."

Faust D'Rinishad is a benevolent AdventurerFaust D'Rinishad is a benevolent Adventurer
The dark elf waded down the shadowy lanes that the mercantile district had to offer, his crimson orbs revolving about absorbedly as he discerned for a stand or shop tailored to his liking. The Vysstichi's sojourn down these rampart streets were not without cause as he very much so desired something of which he knew would be closely maintained. Faust D'Rinishad sorely desired the comfortable sensation of steel wrapped around his ebony fingers, clingy rings that were fashionable yet served for a more purposeful use. Well, maybe the latter of the statements was somewhat of a stretch. Rings had little practicality aside being flashy and good-looking, but this still was suitable to the dark elf's liking. The Prince of Har'oloth had forever traversed the roads of Telath embroidered in a simplicity that undefined him as a Vysstichi noble, but instead someone of mundane features and of no importance whatsoever. Ever since his arrival back in Har'oloth, he'd been reminded of his station in life and the influential figure that he'd always emerged as. Thus, he decided that it was time to finally 'appear' as that reflected role.

Faust's eyes shortly fell upon a jewely stand inhabited by a Vysstichi woman of no little skill. Her meticulousness was well-evident in every glint of metal that he speculated over. The dark elf coolly swept up towards the petite shop as his crimson orbs glazed over the various wares and glimmering pieces that the merchandise had to offer, a short grin becoming of his lips as he nodded his head in infactuation.

"Serale, ma'am." the dark elf maintained a passive and almost obeisant tone in his voice, well comprehending the proper respect granted to those of the female race. Albeit times had changed since Faust had ever conversed with one of the womanly denizens of the Under World, he still knew that they demanded the utmost respect from every creature they encountered, "I'm in the market for several rings...preferably constructed with as durable metals as possible. Mythril would be nice. But I truly doubt something of that caliber would be available here, or might you prove me wrong?" the dark elf smiled slightly.

A few slips of paper made there way from the young man's hand only to be laid out before the tiny merchant before at last the effort was made to describe a manor in the undercity. A place to see the eyewear reach once they were done for the off chance that he might not have been within the city walls when the brightening of their completion came. There was an additional hundred crowns included though for the trouble cause by a delivery into the vysstichi lands.

Once it was mapped out, on a note even if need be Iseril would have only made his way from the peddler and market, unless there were further issues with his purchase.

Iseril:

The gnome took the offered bank notes, and slipped them within the folds of his shirt. Smiling, he nodded as he looked over the map and instructions that Iseril laid out for him. While he didn't particularly like to go into Vysstichi city, he would ensure the glasses reached their point of deliver - even if he had to hire someone to do it.

"Is there anything else I can do for you?" he asked politely wondering why the light elf would even dare to enter the dark elf city below Vortex.

ooc: is there a thread for this delivery? And my response is equally bah..

Faust:

ooc: AGM Banky will be taking over this thread. He will post for you shortly I believe. I am just finishing the two purchases.

The vysttichi woman looked at him and smiled, blushing slightly through her ebony features, was she perhaps taken by the young vysttichi male?

"Why yes my good sir, I do have a small amount of mithril from time to time, but it is pricy I must warn..." Her grin dwindled a bit as she moved her crimson eyes away from Faust, searching through a rack of various rings.

She came up promptly from her shifting of jewelry with 3 rings, all in similar likeness, but with small variations. They all had a small spike jutting out of the top which resembled in likeness to odd twisted pyramids, all were cleverly crafted and very sturdy, looked quite luxurious, but easily doubling as weapons, which seemed to be their initial purpose.

The first rings pyramid shape looked like a spire atop some type of temple further to the south, twisting its way to the tip.

The second was a simple four sided pyramid with indentations in the sides of the spike.

The third was a rounded pyramid with a jagged tip.

Giggling as she looked at Faust, she stopped suddenly, feeling as if she had done something wrong and immediately adopted a more traditional vysstichi female attitude, filled with bearing and attitude, though something much like yearning still flickered occasionally in her eyes, "Each ring is a relatively simple design, so they are only 450 crowns each, but I can make some personal changes on them if you wish for a small extra fee..." She concluded obviously struggling to maintain her hold on the conventional matron attitude.

"Really?" the dark elf's bushy white brow ascended somewhat in an arc, a testament to the profound astonishment evident from this enounter. Albeit the Vysstichi Moriquendi had been aware that such precious metals were available in the deeper realms of the world, he hadn't quite anticipated his search to be so much less than extensive. Still though, the dark elf could hardly complain as his luck was finally taking a turn in his favor. Four hundred and fifty crowns per ring was not too incredible a price to pay, especially when dealing with the rare ore mythril. Though, Faust doubted he'd be overcharged as three simple rings were nothing too complicated. It wasn't as if he was placing an order for a fashionable set of mythril armor, though the thought seemed pleasant at the time.

"Quite alright, ma'am." the dark elf grinned greatly as he produced several bank notes from the confines of his robe. He deftly picked through several of the notes until he produced 1,450 crowns worth and extended it gratefully towards the woman, "I'll take all three of them if you don't mind, as they are that is. And a little extra for you." the Vysstichi Moriquendi grinned as he ringed each of the jewely pieces onto his fingers and nodded once more, "If in the future I perhaps desire a change or two in their appearances, are you the one to come too?" the dark elf smiled. Faust was fairly confident that he'd be returning soon enough with a request for a modification, but time was of the essence for the meanwhile, and frankly he couldn't allow himself to indulge in his own fancy for too long.

The half-elf only shook his head slightly as the small man asked his final polite question having never given any attention to explaining why the lightborn would be drawn to the dark city. There were things much worse then vysstichi in the city without the sunlight and one of those things; one of the souls who were more a monster then any matron could manage had adopted the outcast as her own. The Nosferatu comforted and protected the half-elf, they caverns were his home as much as they were hers now.

"That’s everything thank you." The transaction was over and the hedgemage only walked away back through the crowd.

The young vysstichi woman grinned broadly, and placed the notes into the unseen bowels of her booth. "Why thank you kind sir, and yes, you may return anytime..." She replied with a somewhat insinuating tone, perhaps Faust could return and get more than just a modification or two to his rings? She was after all, a rather attractive woman.

Iseril:

A cycle had passed since Iseril had paid for his eyeglasses. Yet the gnome was more than ready to make his delivery. A hobbit went into the depth of Har'oloth - frightened with terror at the thought of entering the dark elf city - yet with a purpose in mind. The gnome had paid him well for the delivery making it more than worth his while. The hobbit had been a beggar - a mere wretch of a being looking for his next meal. The gnome had promised to feed for the next month, and perhaps a little work as well. Something the poor creature could certianly do to learn some skills.

The delivery was made without a problem, despite getting several stares from passing dark elves, and whether Iseril was waiting for them or not, the glasses were now ready for him to pickup from the desired location. Finished with his task, the hobbit started off once more in his return to the surface. Unfortunately, he never made it, and the gnomish crafter would never if his delivery was made. No matter - those were the risks of entering the dark city beneath Vortex. For Iseril, he would never the fate befallen the poor hobbit - in fact no one would - for who cared for one who had been lost long ago?
