Rose Vortex City Gates

The great city of Vortex was enclosed by high walls. At the main entrance to the city, there were two huge iron gates which were decorated and fashioned with different carvings. To either side of the gate, there were two guard houses and two guards to either side of the gate handling all those who wished to enter. The two guards were dressed in a black uniform, adorned with purple cuffs and silver buttons. Along with the cuffs, the uniform displayed purple trimmings, and on these trimmings silver stripes. Patched onto the uniform was the emblem of the Arium Legion and the province of Arium.

Holding pikes, the guards blocked the entrance until the visitors showed them their visas and and replied to the following words, "Please show me your visa, and state the reason why you wish to enter the city of Vortex." The guards' voices were monotonous. It was quite obvious that they were bored and tired of doing the same things all brightening long.

Had she not gave it to them? No, there it was right there in her pocket. It was odd for her to forget such things and she hoped it was not an omen for things to come, for her in the city. She handed to the guard with a nod. "It simply slipped my mind, how odd." Though she had spoked the last half mainly to herself.

As the guards were about to be very near the gaol Elion started to look very pale And before Jamsion could ask him why he threw up all over Huturo's shoes. Jamsion of course didn't like this very much and knew that Elion needed to be taken care of so he loosened his grip on the unruly woman. "Alright since the boys gone and gotten himself sick all over your shoes I think we can call that punishment enough right? Why don't you go be on your way to wherever you were goin?" He let go of her and shoved her aside going over to Elion, he was looking worser by the minute. "Come on boy you must have caught whatever Terren had. Lets go now." Elion only nodded and they both turned around to headed back to the gates.

OOC: your free to go now.

Terren took the visa and looked it over for a moment. Then finally seeing what she needed to see handed it back to her. "Here yu go you can go in now. Enjoy your stay." She said smiling and moving aside. "Next!" She shouted.

Huturo stepped back, sickened by what had happened. An "Ugh!" escaped her lips, but because they had let her go she decided not to make a big deal of it. Adjusting her coat she tossed a dark look at the guard's retreating backs before moving on through the gates, now swearing to destroy every guard she came across.

Silwyth dragged himself across the streets of Vortex to the gate. There he would find master Malkaer, hopefully, and, hopefully, would accompany him to a new adventure, hopefully a better one than the last one, where Silwyth was captured by slavers and barely escaped with his life. Malkaer had left him at the hands of those men, but Silwyth knew Malkaer didn't had a choice then.

While Silwyth was making his way to the great gate of Vortex, he looked at everyone who passed, hoping recognize master Malkaer in one of them. Alas, Silwyth didn't see his master anywhere. He just kept on walking and kept his eyes peeled just to be sure.

After some time Silwyth reached the gate, where the soldiers were looking very bored indeed. But he was not interested in that now, he wanted to find Malkaer. Since his master wasn't there now and Silwyth was still not completely optima forma, he sat down in a very short distance of the gate, so that he could see anyone who entered or left.

Leaving the city of the Damned

TIMESTAMP: Mid Autumn, Era X of the Mageocracy of Julos the Mad (yes, this is long ago)

Silwyth had a sound and innovative mind. While he was reckless and unwise at times, his former master could never complain about the intelligence of his pupil. In this case again, the reasoning of the young esh'lahier was good: Malkaer did not wish to live in Vortex, so he would leave the city eventually. The only danger in this search method was however that the seasoned swordfighter had perhaps already left the city before Silwyth watched the gates. This was a small chance though, as the bold hero had often exclaimed to young Silwyth 'that he would purge this city of it's filth'; a quest that would take patterns, if the noble warrior would actually survive all evil.

However, after two grand quests, Malkaer had seen enough of the evil town. If necromancy was actually allowed by law, there was not much he could do. The first quest had taken the esh'lahier into the depths of Vortex' underground. He had ended up in the clutches of vysstichi slavers. At this point, Malkaer and Silwyth had become seperated, each being led to a different market or master. The swordsmaster had escaped, killing his guards and also freeing two other slaves. They were now the servants of the scion of Andares. Malkaer's second quest had involved the kidnapping of the Thane's daughter, a dangerous and life-threatening adventure.

Apparently, he had somehow managed to survive, as the swordsman now approached the Vortex gates, ready to leave the necromantic capital of the Empire. The horse, which the pale-skinned elf controlled by holding the leash, carried most of the warrior's equipment, save Malkaer's longsword. Behind the master and his horse, an esh'lahier male and female walked, dressed in clothes Malkaer had purchased for them.

"Damn this is boring," Silwyth thought. "This is more boring than anything that has ever happened before." The thought that he would be here for some more days really kept nagging Silwyth and he hated it. Silwyth had been sitting near the gate of Vortex for almost a week, maybe more, but all the days here were the same, so it didn't really matter. The only thing that mattered was that he was sitting here for nothing. Silwyth hadn't seen Malkaer and that was the only thing that was important. Sometimes Silwyth was almost falling asleep and when he woke up he cursed himself for it.

But one day, Silwyth was doing his regular sleeping on the job, when he saw a familiar figure and a familiar horse. It was Malkaer! Silwyth stood up and rushed to Malkaer. He almost knocked himself against the horse but then he saw the man and woman behind the horse. He nonetheless jumped Malkaer and engulved his master in a gigantic hug, maybe even the biggest in the history of the planet. Arms around his master's neck en legs around his waist, Silwyth was hugging Malkaer insanely.

"Malkaer, how fantastic to see you here, I waited here for more than a week now, but it is to boring to be told again. After we got seperated... wait, I don't want to tell about that. And who are these people walking behind you?"

Silwyth was really anxious to leave this city, he loathed the air, the people and the stench that enclosed him in this town. He wished to be in the woods again, or on a plain, if it was away from this city and its necromancy, as far away as possible.

Malkaer Andares is an upstanding Citizen
The proud warrior was just reaching into his pouch to be ready for the guards to show his Imperial Visa, as he saw one of them damn filthy beggar kids that always hanged around the gates, troubling visitors with their fake handicaps and stealing quick little pickpocketing hands, running towards him. The esh'lahier was quick; his eras of experience with the blade had sharpened his reflexes, but as he just held his hand in his pouch, even he was too late to smack the little bastard aside, and filthy little hands stained his from past adventures blood-stained clothes. His arm uncomfortably squeezed between the beggar's body and his own, Malkaer could make no other attempt to free himself than to shake the filthy little devil off- to no avail though.

The swordsmaster did not reckognize his young apprentice until he heard Silwyth's voice. Then, the pieces of the jigsaw came together. With a dry, rasping voice, obviously mad, the esh'lahier spoke to the filthy tea-lover: "Silwyth, get off me." Hopefully for the health of the young esh'lahier kid, the youngster did so. Than Silwyth had to wait a complete five minutes until Malkaer had brushed all the filth of his clothes off and decided to speak again. "You look terrible, when's the last time you've taken a bath? Have you never remembered any of my lessons?" ['Clean body, Strong body'] In his heart though, Malkaer was overly joyous to see his apprentice standing before him in good health and sent a prayer to Ioannes. "Let's go to the nearest tavern and clean you up. Then we'll buy some new clothes." Although they had probably horrifying tales to tell one another, they could wait. Also, there did not seem to be a bit of doubt in Malkaer's reasoning that Silwyth wouldn't follow his lead again.

"Oh, I almost forgot. This is the couple Edramodon, Emae'dran and Syl'aetha." The esh'lahier man and woman respectively nodded at hearing their names. They were slightly older than Malkaer, but only real experienced esh'lahier could tell that. Both the swordsmaster and his servants were of an age that was hard to estimate from their looks- they could be either 100 patterns or 500. To the Edramodons, the nobleman said: "This is young master Raven, Silwyth, my apprentice." By naming him young master, it ment that the little esh'lahier was of higher status in the household than the two elder elves, but Silwyth should not have the illusion to order them around; that was Malkaer's privilage only. Upon being introduced to the young master Emae'dran slightly bowed and spoke: "Pleased to meet you, Silwyth." He did not extend his hand to the filthy boy though, his former position as a member of his fallen refrained him from doing so. Syl'aetha simply smiled.
"Let's go", the swordsmaster said, and he turned Marnair around. Silwyth could tell his master was in a good mood, despite is earlier outburst, otherwise Malkaer would have stayed angry far longer. Perhaps his two new servants also had a milding influence on the warrior's attitude.

Malkaer Andares & Silwyth Raven

Terren and Jamsion were indeed very bored. They could have done something about it but they'd much rather just be bored out of their minds. Terren spotted the little group, and leaned back against the wall that inclosed the city. "What do you take of em Jam?" She asked him. He turned and smiled down at herthen frowned and looked over at the small group. "They want to leave, and they seem to be waiting for us to let them out.....I find that pretty funny." Jamison chuckled after saying this, and nudged Terren with his elbow. " Well most people don't know that they can just walk out of here if they like. Lets just wait, and see what they do, and then if they don't figure it out we'll tell em." Jamison didn't like this idea, but he kept his mouth shut and watched them. Terren yawned and almost closed her eyes.

Malkaer seemed very happy indeed to see Silwyth, glorious times! That was fantastic, but now his master wanted to go back into this city of damned souls? That was not so good, Silwyth thought. "Master, I am not going back into those streets, I will bathe somewhere in a stream or something, and my clothes are good enough for now. I really really want to get away from here. My memories of this place are that of death and pain. Let's get away from here....please....."

Silwyth wanted to go pronto, he didn't care if he was clean or not, and even if he could get gallons of tea instead of leaving, he wouldn't take it. He just wanted to leave this awful place

Squiblydibly was flying slowly towards the gargantuan gate, struggling to drag the visa (which is twice his size) across the dry ground. Many people had passed Squiblydibly, each one managing not to see his 2 1/2 inch body hovering 8 inches above the ground. After the long trek to the city gates, squiblydibly had to fly slowly upwards for 30 minutes before the guard managed to notice him. Squiblydibly then handed the guard his visa, and explained that he had just bought property in Vortex.

Thorolf made his way down into the city of Vortex. He was about to set out on a journey to the north and as Vortex was the closest city to his mountain home this was the best spot to stop.

He halted as the guard hailed him, "Please show me your visa, and state the reason why you wish to enter the city of Vortex."

Thorolf presented his visa.

I am here to purchase several items in the shops within the city.

It was a simple, short explination, but a truthful one. Thorolf's stay here would not be long.

OOC: it would help if you actually had your PC say "I have boughten property in vortex" instead of stating that he did. Its kind of how the game works.

IC:Elion was on duty alongside Luna and it was obvious neither of them liked it much, being together that is. Luna always felt she was better then everyone else even if she was only a human and Elion a just a plain slacker. He'd done very little in the past few cycles he'd been working and liked it. Luna had called him out on this and made him work that day. She herself had barely seen the faerie in front of her. But Elion did. "Hey there little guy, you want to enter?" He asked getting a kick out of how small he was. Luna elbowed him in the ribs and he cursed a couple of times. "Idiot, its as if he was born yesterday and knows nothing of the races in this Empire." She grumbled to herself, taking the faerie's visa from him. She looked it over and handed it back to him. "Go on in." She said and stepped aside.

Thorolf

Terren took his visa from him looked it over, at him, then finally handed it back to him. "Have a nice day." She said and stepped aside.

Malkaer frowned, a most worrying expression on his face. What had his apprentice endured during his time in the dark? The esh'lahier felt anger rising in his heart, but suppressed it. The swordsmaster nodded in agreement with Silwyth's suggestion. He too wanted to leave this city and the boy could indeed wash himself in a stream.

"Very well, let us go then. Attach your equipment to Marnair and we will go." After Silwyth had done that, Malkaer moved towards the gates, followed by his once again complete entourage: his white mare, Emae'dran and Syl'aetha Edramodon and his young apprentice Silwyth Raven. When the noble warrior passed the gates, he looked back to the dark city one last time- for now. Perhaps he would return here one day, to carry on vanquishing the evil that was inside Vortex.

OOC: since I can't mod my own PC I'll just pos t that she leaves. Since when we leave we don't have to ask for permission.

IC: Opelya was leaving Vortex for a little while on vacation. Where she'd end up was a mystery even to herself. She'd locked up her house and packed her bags and was now leaving through the gates. She smiled over at the guards and continued walking on.
