Shortly after his arrival into Vortex, Kanye made his way to the Elegant Blades Weapons Shop to re-equip himself. He needed more than his rusty dagger to survive on these streets.
"Serale master hobbit, I will be requiring a custom job. First a will need a 34'' katana. I require a sweat absorbent hilt along with crystal dust blending on it as well. Secondly, I require a black thrusting dagger with the same modifications. If my additon is correct, it comes to 640 crowns...plus a black leather sheath for both...720 crowns is the grand total."
"Well, well. All those modifications will require a cycles wait. Is that okay?"
"That is perfect, I trust you so I will pay all up front. Here is 720 crowns pluse 30 more for the prompt service, see you in a week." With that, Kayne turned and walked out of the shop.
ONE CYLCE LATER
Kanye walked into the shop a cycle later ready to recieve his weapons. "Serale master hobbit, I assume my weapons are ready."
"Serale, and yes they are." the hobbit said as he grapped two weapons from behind the counter."Here you are, don't forget to tell your friends about me."the hobbit said with a smile. Kanye then strapped both weapons tightly to his belt, then turned and walked out.

Sometime After Cryp Robbing In The Collegeum.
OOC I make no mention of Laroa’s weapon, but Morte is searching for it in my last post, though if I do stumble upon it would be cool to know what that does too if anything at all.
For some reason Morte could not shake off the notion that this black suit of armor had something to it. It may not have been made out of a mythical substance, that much must have been true though one never knew until they found out for sure. But this specific armor was in fact owned by the previous headmistress of the collegeum of dark arts, it wasn’t just the fact that this item belonged to the highest ranking person in the school of dark arts but also in a period of time when it flourished its golden days you could say. With so many masters and possibly archmages at that time period, this little suit of armor Morte stumbled upon may very well have been enchanted with some hardcore spells. Laroa prided herself as a warrior not a mage and the possibility of it being enchanted by necromancers sorcerers or even mystics to enhance her fighting prowess was very high, but only time would tell.
Morte went to the elegant blades weapon shop instead of an academy of magica, because who knew what types of spells, if any her find had. It was a good armor in fact with so much care taken into its engravings, all the fine details carefully taken into consideration, it was no longer armor but a work of art. A piece of eye candy that Morte quickly took in for sometimes a few hours on end.
Walking up to the smith, she smiled.
I recently came across this armor from a wandering merchant who said for 2,500 crowns he would give me a suit of armor that would mesmerize me. To say in the least this piece is quite a sight yes? Anyway, I don’t know who this armor belongs too, what its made of, and if there are any enchantments on it that I should be made aware of. I know that you are a weapon smith not a mage, but even smiths as good as you should be able to spot out enchantments bound in the metal work.

Dubby was just a halfling, but he was not a fool. The little man’s eyes widened as the half elf entered his shop, carrying a magnificent set of black armour. It was not every day that a person like her appeared at his doorstep with something like that. “A wandering merchant …” the halfling murmurred and stroke his chin thoughtfully. No, he could not quite believe that. “Wandering merchants rarely sell things like that, my dear half elf. This here is valuable … and it seems to me as if I have seen it before …”
“Have you noticed the engravings on the armour yet? It used to belong to Laroa, the Headmistress of the High Collegium of the Dark Arts. Now I won’t ask you how you came into the possession of such a thing – Laroa is dead, and thus it doesn’t matter – but you really shouldn’t lie to me about this. I’m the best smith in Vortex. I can’t tell you if there are any enchantments on it – as I said I’m a smith and not a mage – but I can tell you that it is made of fine elven steel …”
“Smiths can’t spot enchantments, even good one’s can’t as long as they are not unbound, and I have to tell you that I’m not unbound yet. Vis and ara and all the other nonsense are a mystery to me …”

"Yes, I should have realized that such a fools tale would have been spotted out by the likes of you. Though you must understand that this is a very unique piece of armor I have stumbled upon, and you must forgive me for my caution in such matters.
Yes I noticed the engravings, but did not know what they meant. I know just from looking at it, this is something thats is indeed valuable but I had no idea that this at one point belonged the Laroa of the high collegium of dark arts. But you said you have seen this armor before, did you in fact make this suit?
But beyond that it is made of fine elven steel, is there anything you can tell me about this specific suit? You said you saw it before, are you the one whom forged it? Maybe Laroa told you of certain planes she had for this exquisite masterpiece.
Or could you perhaps point me in the direction of someone who can? I havent much time before my quick departure, I have a lot of traveling ahead of me."
Morte had a **** eating grin plastered on her face, that map was still hers and she was going to go out to vortexian countryside as soon as possible to find out what it was that was marked on the map. Though there was no way she could have known that her departure would have gotten her lost within the dolwood and end up in zerdargia.

Meanwhile, Zoveh was busy working in the shop (someone had to turn out all the pretty weapons, and Dubby liked his mid-brightening tea) , but not so busy that he did not miss overhearing his employer's conversation from the front showroom.
Marking it in the back of his mind as future information, the fledgling smith continued hammering...

„The engravings don’t mean anything“, the halfling said. “They are just decoration. They are beautiful, but as far as I know they are not magical in nature. I can’t say if there are hidden enchantments though. I doubt that Laroa really had need of such things though. She was an Archmage. Why should she put enchantments into her armor when she could cast a spell instantly?” He shook his head. Dubby had not had a lot of experience with mages, but to him it made perfect sense. Only people that weren’t good enough to cast the spells themselves needed enchantments.
“I don’t know anything about her plans. I haven’t made this armour. I only took a look at it while I was making a sword for the lady. All the people who would know more about the armor are dead or have already left the city. Maybe you’ll be lucky and manage to track a vysstichi that worked for the lady down though. I wish you good luck with it, and I’m sorry that I can’t be of more help. If you want to know how much this thing is worth and if you can sell it anywhere – that’s actually something I can help you with …”

Eldrie entered the store, and laid down 300 crowns.
"Two hand crossbows"
Offering a small smile, he took the goods and then he turned and left the store.

Bayce entered, looking for a weapon that suited his personal style and flair. Finding suitable weapons, he proceeded to the counter and stated, "I'd like to buy a hunting knife, and a falcata, and that larger, 24" falcata in the corner, and sheathes of leather for the swords."
The keeper considered this and says, "The special weapon is 10 gold extra, your total comes to 320 gold pieces."
Sighing, the Katta counted off 320 gold from his belt and passed it to the hobbit. The weaponsmith finds suitable sheathes for the weapons and passes them across trhe counter to Bayce, "There you go."
"Thank-you," Bayce replied, as he left
OOC: Is the 24" falcata Okay?

He slid into the shop, the tight squeeze offering him no difficulty, his casual demeanor was a facade to the awe he felt at gazing around the room. The brilliance of some of the pieces astounded him, though he found the most simplistic of the blades the most astonishingly beautiful. He was a humble man, unused to things of beauty. His clothing, a worn woolen cloak, spoke vividly of his profession as healer. He was above all, a son of a priest, and horribly unused to causing injury, but to healing them. His training had come out of necessity, he simply could not be useless if he was attacked, and this was the type of city where muggers, whores and thieves roamed the paved streets unhindered. Death was an everyday occurrence, Ioannes be his witness, he would not be found useless.
He looked carefully about the glittering walls, intent on a simplistic, but quality design. He fought well with Elven blades, Zackner had assured him that they complimented his style. The lithe blades and light weight offered him the most flexible and agile attacks. Finally he settled on a good solid elven steel short sword and a Elven longsword which easily complimented each other. Their humble design emphasized the magnificent craftsmanship of their weaponsmith. The two blades were both made of elven steel with tightly wrapped black leather hilts. Olvann mentally noted the two blades before moving onto the other weapons in the store. Finally he settled on another blade, a simply designed Elven long knife that matched the other two blades Olvann had already picked out.
With his loan from the bank, at this point, the healer really had no restrictions as to what he could and couldn't buy. He would be leaving Vortex soon and had assured himself he would be armed prior to leaving. He still had two full cycles at the Bank prior to leaving and his Shaasskah training would take easily that long. He carefully examined the sheaths that could be purchased and decided on a sheath that would wrap around his lower right leg, on the right side of his shin, and hold his Elven longknife. That was more so a backup blade than anything else. The other sheaths would be slightly more difficult to find a perfect match for. His longsword would hang at his left hip while his shortsword would be in a sheath crossed from right to the left side of his body. The sheath had to be designed so that the short-sword hung upside down, hilt at the left side, right above the hilt of his longsword, so that both blades could be drawn quickly and simultaneously.
"Serale, can I be of help?" Stated a sturdily build and jovial hobbit. Olvann nodded and smiled, "Yes I'd like to purchase these three blades." He answered, pointing the three blades out, "-and sheaths for them." He continued to describe the sheaths and finally smiled, "Is this possible and for how much?" He questioned.

The hobbit smiled up at Olvann and waved with a very wide grin across his small face. He seemed so fragile for a person to be living in Vortex, but his dagger dipped in deadly poision, which layed at his side, made up for his small size and warded off any thing that posed him as a threat. He did have a store to look after and needed something to protect himself, since he had no guards and he was to small to handle a sword, a dagger was his best bet. And with a quick snap of the wrist, he could send it flying with deadly precision.
"Ah very nice blades you have there, one of my better sellers actually," he said, giving them a quick inspection,"but the sheaths are going to be a problem. I can have them for you for an extra 60 crowns because the modifications will be a little challenging. It will add up to 550 crowns for all of it, any problems?" the small hobbit said, still with a cheery smile.

Olvann regarded the small Halfling with a cheery smirk. Halflings had always seemed to him as one of natures more hilarious deviancies. He supposed, logically it was the reason they were some of the most grounded people he had met so far.
Olvann listened to the Halfling carefully cover the details of his order and satisfied with his deductions, nodded with a smile and started handing over crowns, "Here's a two-hundred crown banknote, the rest you'll get when they are ready, any idea on how long they'll be?" He questioned.
Olvann waited for the response of the Halfling before leaving the blades shop.
